Mom and I went for a stroll yesterday, a long stroll. The sun was peeking through the clouds and there was just a spit of rain here and there. So off we went down the street. I was a little embarrassed, peeps were pointing and laughing at me….this is rude. Mom told me to ignore them and enjoy the ride. So I lay down and watched all the peeps and scenery go by. This is Gateway Facility for Seniors where mom volunteers every Monday. They have a nice bench mom relaxed on before we continued our travels.
Mom went strolling down a busy street where semi’s were rushing by me. I was getting a little scared but we got off of the sidewalk, stopped and talked with a lady that had purple hair. She had a shopping cart with the statement…”I can’t take it anymore.” She was a sad lady. Mom and I talked with her for a long time. She told us her story and we listened. By the time we left she looked a little more hopeful.
We strolled into the Youth Centre where dad volunteers and he was delighted to see us. He proceeded to show us the new wheelchair lift they had gotten recently. Mom and I just had to ride on it. After this amazing display where dad brought the bar down on mom’s head and I mewed in merriment, while mom was a little ticked, we went home.
Shoko was waiting for us on the fence and came dancing in the front door while mom picked up the mail. There was mail for Shoko! It was from Cat Scouts. The parcel held a kerchief from the April quest Shoko was on. Shoko wanted her new kerchief on like right now.
Ellen from 15 and Meowing made the first two fill-ins while Ann of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the last two fill-ins. A big thank you to our co-hosts of the fill-ins.
1. The first thing I check when I go online is…..MY GAME AND THEN MY MAIL. MOM ALWAYS WANTS HER CUPPA TEA FIRST BUT I WANT TO PLAY CRIMINAL CASE AND THEN SEE WHO WROTE TO KALI AND I.
2. My signature dish is …..FANCY FEAST BEEF FLAVOUR. I LOVE IT. KALI IS MORE OF AN ANYTHING GOES GIRL WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD. 3. My Halloween night is usually…..SPENT PLAYING CWAPS WITH KALI UNDER THE BED. 4. Trick or treaters …..ARE LOUD. RING THE DOORBELL MANY TIMES, YELL AT MOM AND THEN, YOU KNOW, SHE GIVES THEM CANDY! SHE WOULDN’T GIVE US TREATS IF WE DID THESE THINGS. THESE TRICK OR TREATERS DRESS FUNNY TOO…..SCARY LOOKING OR SOMETIMES PRINCESS’S. IT’S LIKE A STORY COME TO LIFE, ALL NIGHT LONG.
I got a joke for you. What do you get when you cross Bambi with a ghost?
Piglove and Gentlestitches are hosting this reading of a story. We intend to do a book review also. We read many cat books because of our story time every night, some are good and some are alright. There are very few books out there that we do not like at least some part of the story. However, books written from the cat’s perspective have a special place in our hearts. The following book employs this technique with great success. The book we are reviewing is called, “Black Cat and The Accidental Angel” written by Elaine Faber. This book is the third and as yet the final book in the series. From the moment we started reading……we were hooked. The story begins where the previous story, “Black Cat and The Lethal Lawyer” leaves off. Thumper and his family are heading home from their visit in Texas. They are not far from home when suddenly, the SUV is in an accident and the carrier with the cats in it is thrown from the vehicle, landing in an awkward place that is impossible for the family to find. The adventure begins as Angel and Thumper try to find their way home. One massive problem exists, Thumper has lost his memory and doesn’t even know who the cat is with him.
These two cats have many adventures while attempting to walk home. Mom laughed, sniffled and down right cried. She got that attached to the kitties and their struggles. The plot twists kept her reading when she normally would quit for the night. The ending came way too quickly for us. So in short, I would say if you want a boring book to read so you can fall asleep quickly, don’t get, “Black Cat and the Accidental Angel.” However, if you want an excellent read with cats that are real to life, DO buy, “Black Cat and the Accidental Angel.” The only thing left for us to do is get Elaine Faber to write a fourth book in the, “Black Cat” series. MOL
The author forwarded pictures of the cats that were her muses for Thumper and Angel. I thought you would be as delighted to see them as we were.
These precious kitties live with the author and happily share their lives.
Now, without further adieu mom is going to read part of the first chapter of, “Black Cat and The Accidental Angel” on video. Please excuse her feet as she was relaxing and laying back.
Mom only read a portion of the first chapter. To see how the story goes, you’ll just have to get the book.
Hope you’ve enjoyed peeking in our bedroom…we enjoyed the company. Ya all come back now…..ya hear. MOL
The doorbell rang and I ran and hid……as usual. There was a brief exchange of words and the door closed. Whew! No visitors, just the way I like it. I came hot pawing it out from the bedroom. The postman had given mom an envelope. What is it….c’mon open it!
Hey, its from Bacon’s mom! Sitting in the envelope looking cool and calm, sat Bashful and his son Chip. The two pet rocks from Georgia. Mom was delighted. Kali and I smelled something else in the envelope.
These are treats, yippee! Hope ole cheap skate gives us lots. There’s a toy that looks like Bacon. I claim it as mine! Look at the little monster with arms and legs. Shoko would just bite through the cotton and eat the legs. So I claim the monster toy too. Mom will share the treats between us so I’m ok there.
Meow with you later Kali. Does everyone know the story of Bashful and Chip? They have quite the story. Here is Bashful’s tail :
In 2013, Bashful headed over to Australia for a visit with Fozziemum. Bashful made a movie called Rockadile Dundee. His co-star was Bimby. They fell in love. Bashful then returned home.
Bashful returned to Australia in December of last year. He was having an awesome time with Fozziemum and Fozziepa. Then one day his life changed. Bimby showed up at Fozziemum’s doorstep drunk, with Chip in tow. Bimby was now an alcoholic. She wanted to go into rehab and turn her life around. She hated to admit it but she could no longer care for Chip and gave Bashful all parental rights. Bashful had always wanted a pebble of his own, so was delighted that Chip would return to the Scold, rocktates with him.
Now, Bashful and chip are here in Canada for a wonderful visit. Any words of wisdom Bashful? “It’s cold up here.” There you have it friends. This seems to be the most outstanding feature of Canada to a rock, a special rock.
