SHOKO…..BLACK
KALI…..ORANGE

*RING-A- DINGGY* Oh my…the doorbell.  *RING-A- DINGGY*  Tell me what happens Kali…I’m going UTB.

Shoks….it was the mail lady.  What’s this It’s a package Shoko.  Really?  ?  It does say Shoko and Kali on the outside of the envelope.  It’s for ME, little ole ME.  No, it’s for both of us.  Oh look there’s a card…look what it says Shoko.

See, it’s actually for my birthday.  Ya, I see.

Everything came in a bag with my picture on it.                                                                          You didn’t do justice to this picture mom…you did a yucky job….sorry mom but its true.

Mom and dad got eye covers and a matching bag for their sunglasses.  They were delighted as mom has no place to put her sunglasses except on her head.  The Pouch and eye covers say, “I was in Paris.”  True!

Shoko and I each got a new collar.  I love mine…it matches my furs.  I got a teething ring …MOL and a sock which mom rolled in oregano for me…..it’s a lovely smelly sock.  Mom got a makeup kit with chocolate beauty aids.  If, you notice all the make up is gone….mom ate it.  She said it was very tasty except the eye shadow was chalky tasting. MOL  Mom you’re weird.

Fee Fie Foo fum…I smell Orega-bum. MOL

Helping Mom Unpack

Are we going to unpack…finally?  Yippee…treats.

suitcaseshoksmOh wow…..you found feline Greenies.  I need some for my teeth, right now….PLEASE!  What else?  A temptations mouse….cool.  Colorado cat nip….this is great stuff….mountain grown is always stronger.

Mom, did you watch us while you were gone…….I know you’re not all seeing but did you put a camera in the bedroom?  You didn’t?  Then what was the green light that showed on the bottom of the TV.  Yeah, Judy did put my favourite dvd of birds on TV….so?  Yes, it was very kind of her…..no one else ever thought of it. Oh, so CK was right.  The light was on because the TV was on.  I never noticed before.

dvdsmcrI’m sure glad you weren’t peeping at us and trusted us.  Of course, we were remarkably good.  Didn’t  Judy tell you…we helped her.  She stayed for about an hour and read her mail so I got on the desk and sat in front of the monitor so she had to twist about to see the e-mails.  Good exercise.

Now, about that kitty smell on your t-shirt.  What gives?  Haven’t we given you everything you ever wanted in a kitty?  We do so much to help you and this is what you do, run off and cuddle with strangers.  It was someone I know?  You gotta be kidding me, mom!  You were mewing with Nellie, the queen of us cats from hell.  What’s she like up close and personal?  Did she like you?  Oh my catnip….it’s hard to believe.  Did you bow?  Of course you didn’t or you’d be rolling around on the floor still.  A curtsey would have been nice.

nellie2She’s beautiful and so small!  Just like me…ok, ok, way smaller than me.  Goes to show ya, size doesn’t matter.  She is my idol mom so I won’t give ya a bad time.                                                  nelliemomcinsmLook, Nellie and her mom and there is Cinnamon…out of focus…MOL  What a Royal family with Nellie to guide them?

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Nellie’s hugging you!!  Were you excited?  Looks like Nellie gave us a bag of stuffs….let’s see it mom.  I still can’t believe you saw my mentor.                                                     goodiesnellieWow,…you say they are Nellie approved.  She put her paw print to them.  They are so unique with a certain relaxing sniff about them.  Nellie’s mom made them?  How come you’re not that talented mom?  Yeah I know you made a rabbit for cats in 1980 but that was a long time ago.  I want the octakitty with the tail…no, wait, the thing with feelers looks enticing.

What a wonderful day.  Bacon, from Piglove has shown mom and dad’s second day in Georgia with Bacon’s mom and dad.  Simply click on Piglove and join mom and dad having more fun.                                                                 Kali and Shoks

What Shall We Call This Thing?

Dad was looking around the internet and saw an interactive toy for us.  He wasn’t sure if we’d bother with it….I guess we have a reputation as picky so he just did the basics to see if there would be any interest.

We have no name for this toy but here is a picture of the toy.  Note the toy has brown paper because it is the finished product unlike what you will see in the other pictures.                                                                               DSCN4573This is easy to make.  You will need a small box, 6 plastic cups. tape and the scissors to cut holes for the plastic cups.  Inside you will want to put some treats.

Our box wouldn’t close so dad needed tape to close it up.  He carved out the 6 holes and put the plastic cups with 2 beef temptations in each cup.

The first to test the effectiveness of this toy was Kali.

kalislot1.Kali was not impressed and wandered away.

Elfin John wanted to see what the fuss was about.                                                                                 elfinsearch     There was no nip in the plastic cup and Elfin John soon lost interest.

The last one to try it was me.  I was not particularly impressed at first glance.

Then I started to poke about.  Hey, this thing makes noise and it smells like beef.

aaa

Note:  with more feverish activity, the cups turn this way and that…perhaps if dad glued them to the floor…mmmm…just sayin’.

shoks3

Yes, this will do nicely, thank you dad….. I love the smell of beef in my cups.  MOL

Results of the Polls

Welcome to Fort Meezer in Da Hood my friends.  Shoko’s idea  of a name for the area around the backyard got a 47%  vote.  So look for Shoko to start sprucing up the area soon…right Shoko?  Right Kali but hey, you gotta help too.  Ah, I’m going to be more concerned with the backyard and grounds.  This area by a vote of 46.7% is now called The Garden of Purrthley Delights.  This delicious idea was CK’s of Stunning Keisha.  Now, the greenhouse is like a world unto itself and Kali and I have decided to call it Shokali Island.  When you walk into the greenhouse you are on a tropical island.  The idea was Easy’s of Easy’s Blog.  These are fun and informative blogs, take a peek and see.

These are the bounties from Shokali Island.                                                          Peppers are ready for eating as are the leeks.                                          Spaghetti squash are ripe for the picking.  Mom’s never cooked these kind of squash so dad’s in for a big surprise!

Guess who, grabbing some shut eye,

Onto mom’s meeting with Cow-Kitty’s dad.  Mom said he was a very nice man.  She asked if Cow-Kitty was a girl or boy.  Darnell said they weren’t sure.  They suspect she is a SHE.  Her name is Felix…..ok?  Mom never said what a weird name for a she cat but held her tongue.  Mom told him about Kali getting very angry at Felix and she suspects its because Felix is growing up and has a different smell.  Mom asked how old Cow Kitty was and Darnell said a couple of months.  Mom corrected him and said at least 4 or 5 months.  It is time to think about getting him neutered.  Darnell agreed he should be neutered.  Mom asked if he wanted to keep Cow-Kitty and he said his young daughter adored Cow-Kitty…even Darnell was calling Felix, Cow-Kitty.  Right then mom knew she could never take a kitty away from a young girl.  Mom told Darnell, who is out of work, that if they needed some assistance getting Cow-Kitty neutered that she would pay half.  Darnell was thrilled mom offered to help.

There you have it friends.  Cow-kitty’s sex is undetermined.  His/her name is Felix and is not free for the taking Ellen.

Aww….a nice relaxing Sunday.  Time for a memory, a visit from next door and a selfie.

Yesterday we had visitors from the lower mainland stop by for a chat.  The lower mainland is the Vancouver/ Vancouver Island area.  These visitors were mom’s nephew (David) and his wife from Powell River.  They seemed nice enough for peeps.  When mom told me the story of when my Uncle David came and stayed with mom and dad….I really liked him then.  He is my kind of guy.                                                                            This story happened many, many years ago.  Uncle David was 15 and mom was 25.  Apparently, Uncle David was going through teenage stuff where his mom was a pain and so it was decided Uncle David needed a time out with mom and dad.  This one particular day mom was out visiting with the lady that had mom’s chicken in a chicken coop with other chickens.  BJ was mom’s chicken but I’m getting off the original story.  Uncle David was kicking around mom and dad’s house.  Doing stuff that only teenage boys would find interesting.  Mom walked in the house and smelled something strange.  She panicked and thought the sofa was smoldering in the livingroom.  She ran into the livingroom to find Uncle David kicking back with a smoke in his mouth.  Mom told him it stunk and what kind of tobacco was it.  Uncle David said it was catnip!  He said seeing the cats got such a reaction to catnip he thought he’d try it and get a kick too.  So mom asked him if he got a, “kick” from the nip.  To which Uncle David replied, “No, but my eyes are sure watering from the smell.”  This kid had guts!                                                     Cow-kitty decided to pop over for a visit later.  He was very vocal while walking about on the shed roof.

Of course being Sunday, it is Selfie Sunday Blog hop over at The Cat On My Head.                                                      Our entry this week is Shoko starring at Cow-kitty on the shed roof.

Take a look at the other anipals posing for their Selfies.  Just click on the name of the blog hosting the hop.
