What’s it look like Shoko? For heaven sakes……I’m drying my hind paw nails. I’ve never painted them before and thought I’d try doing them at least once. It’s usually hard to bend deep enough to get the whole nail but not in this special Princess bed. MOL…ya, you do look like a little, twisted sister!
You won’t catch me painting my nails like some Hussey.
Shoks, do you remember Henrietta….a pretty Calico that lived a few houses down from us?
Yep, we all called her Henny cause she pecked at the ground like a hen looking for bugs.
Well, she refused to paint her nails too. One day Cow Kitty mouthed off at her and she clawed at his leg.
Do you know that her nails fell out? Just the ones that touched Cow Kitty but they ripped and then came out.
No!! Why did they fall out? They were so weak cause she had no way to harden her nails. She refused to paint them, even with clear polish. That polish would have toughened up her nails.
Whatever happened to her? She was very embarrassed! Finally, the family moved away but we never did see much of Henny after that horrible incident. So, that’s why we didn’t see her very often. I didn’t know that Kali. I’ll have to rethink my objection to the polish.Wink, wink
The Cat On My Head is having one of her fantabulous lineups of animals taking selfies. I’m posing this week. Hope you enjoy my efforts.
Morning all! What a beautiful crisp morning. Did you know the fresh air is one of the best remedies for your skin/furs. The crisp breeze will blow many impurities right off your skin..
Translation: If, you want to keep that nose, grab it with both paws or the wind will quickly slip your nose off!
To wash your face, gently lick your paw and caress your face with the moistened paw, making circular motions.
Translation: Slobber all over your paw and wipe the spit on your face in a big circle.
Ever get those ugly black gobs in the corners of your eyes? These gobs are simple to deal with by dabbing fresh tap water on your eyelids, all the time making a sweeping motion upwards.
Translation: Stick your face in a bucket or wading pool full of water and shake your head vigorously. I guarantee the black gobs will be gone.
My final tip is to protect yourself from the sun’s rays. Even if you are just slopping around the backyard, you must protect those fine furs and your dainty skin from the eroding damage of the sun. MOL…Well, instead of looking like an escapee from a fishing camp, why not just pull a bag over your body. You need to cut four holes for your legs and two for your eyes, have mom tape the top around you but now you’re set for that extra sunny day. Just don’t pick a fight with your sister. Remember running is a liability in this outfit.
There you have them my friends just a few of my beauty tips. Enjoy yourself and have fun.
Mom and I went for a walk in the Lane cause the rain finally stopped today. Sky wanted to see her friend and the only way she mellowed out was with some oregano.
I looked up and down the Lane. I even looked in the bushes. There was just no sign of them. I figured, they just didn’t want to be found yet.
So we went home and asked Sky who was this mysterious stone in the Lane? She finally told us that the stone was her big sister. Since their mom left them in Williams Creek, they had never been parted. This was the first time they weren’t together. Sky believed her sister and Bashful were doing a lot of talking about their situations and would come home when the problems were resolved. She asked for more oregano and Chip gave in. Sky seemed to float in the clouds with a few sniffs of oregano and then she turned in.
Mom was going to do some work on her Notebook but I didn’t want her to. So we cuddled instead.
Sunday Selfie Day is coming up and seeing as I took this picture me self….oh sorry…my pirate speak is coming through. As I was saying, as I took this photo myself, I’m entering it into the selfies by The Cat On My Head. If you click on the host blog you shall be teletransported over there.
Kali, did I tell everyone about Flat Shoko that Dad made up for Cat Scouts? I don’t think so Shoko. Well butter my butt and slide me to the Catnip! Sit down my friends have some nip and I’ll tell ya all about it.
Cat Scouts are giving scouts the opportunity to go visit their friends in Cat Scouts via a flat cat. Well dad made a flat cat of me. She’s a big sucker too! I call her FOKO. Foko
We mailed Foko at the beginning of August out to DezizWorld in Oklahoma. Dezi did a post about her visitors. Click on DeziWorld for the First part and Part 2 for the second half of the visit. Shoko’s flat cat boyfriend Finstein scame for a visit with brofur Fimmy. Dezi’s mom made sure there was no look of hanky panky between Foko and Finstein. Finstein slept at the head of the bed and Foko at the bottom. We had tons of fun. Mango from Cat Scouts also popped in for a visit.
Dezi is going to tell Foko a secret. Foko says Dezi is not real quiet but has such a fantastic southern accent that Foko was mesmerized. Lexi, Dezi’s sis, sat back and let Dezi enjoy her friends. What a kind sister.
Dezi’s mom mailed us out to Finstein and Fimmy’s dad and we arrived last Wednesday. What a houseful in Finstein’s family! I never saw so many cats all in one place. I especially liked chatting with Miss Fitz. We had lots of girlie talk and giggles. Go take a look at Tomcat Commentary by Tim…just click on the name.
Foko and Einstein taking a rest
Miss Fitz was so happy to have another female to talk with that she spilled the beans about most of the family’s secrets. MOL Way to go Miss Fitz.
Secrets with Miss Fitz
Finstein’s family lives in Pennsylvania. Fimmy and Finstein’s dad mailed Foko, Finstein and Fimmy up to Canada. So they should be arriving in another 4 or 5 days. We are expecting a couple of others from Cat Scouts too. Woohoo…lotsa visitors. Kali will be delighted. Too bad Miss Fitz isn’t a flat. Kali would love her, I just know those two would get along like a house on fire. MOL, Miss Fitz, what a name! I like her already.
Shoko, Kali’s Gotcha Day is quickly approaching. Oh, it’s not until next month Mom. It’s on Friday Shoko. Well, it really is Sunday but Sunday is Mother’s Day so we’ll celebrate it Friday. Seriously??
I’m not ready though!!
Do you think she’d like a picture of me, mom. Would you like a picture of Kali for your Gotcha Day Shoks? Not really. What can I get her? I haven’t saved any treats and the catnip plant hasn’t got any new nip yet…just a few sprouts. Well, I’m going shopping today perhaps I’ll see something. Mom don’t you have anything for her? I ordered her a “Furminator,” from Amazon but no sign of it yet. I hope we get it before her Gotcha Day. I plan on making a special meal and a cake for her. Catnip of course inside the cake…you betcha’. Kali will be 13…about 68 human years. WOW!….she’s getting on but you wouldn’t know it by looking at her! She carries her age well. She is alert as ever. Just what the world needs more “Lerts.”
How bout you Beatrice? You got anything for Kali’s Gotcha Day? Oh no…this is a special occasion for Kali and I have forgotten….wait, Shoko I never heard of a Gotcha Day…what is it? That’s the day that Kali adopted mom and moved in with her and dad. You celebrate that? Of course…Kali decided to come and help mom furever. Kali has been here for 13 years. Kali has been hanging around…I mean lived here for quite awhile, eh Shoko. Yep, she is the oldest of all of us…except dad…he is REALLY old.
Something from the heart
I know Kali would love something that means a lot to us. For example, the egg blanket for a month from you cause you love it and hate to part with it Shoko. That’s gonna be tough Beatrice….I don’t know if I can be happy without it but Kali is one great sister….I’ll think about it. How bout you? It will be a surprise for you too Shoko…you’ll have to wait till Friday.
We must make her feel special on her day
So drop by on Friday to visit with us and wish Kali a happy Gotcha Day….I know we’ll have treats here for cats, woofies, bunnies and pigs….peeps, I’m not sure if there will be peeps food though.
