Mom and I went for a stroll yesterday, a long stroll. The sun was peeking through the clouds and there was just a spit of rain here and there. So off we went down the street. I was a little embarrassed, peeps were pointing and laughing at me….this is rude. Mom told me to ignore them and enjoy the ride. So I lay down and watched all the peeps and scenery go by. This is Gateway Facility for Seniors where mom volunteers every Monday. They have a nice bench mom relaxed on before we continued our travels.
Mom went strolling down a busy street where semi’s were rushing by me. I was getting a little scared but we got off of the sidewalk, stopped and talked with a lady that had purple hair. She had a shopping cart with the statement…”I can’t take it anymore.” She was a sad lady. Mom and I talked with her for a long time. She told us her story and we listened. By the time we left she looked a little more hopeful.
We strolled into the Youth Centre where dad volunteers and he was delighted to see us. He proceeded to show us the new wheelchair lift they had gotten recently. Mom and I just had to ride on it. After this amazing display where dad brought the bar down on mom’s head and I mewed in merriment, while mom was a little ticked, we went home.
Shoko was waiting for us on the fence and came dancing in the front door while mom picked up the mail. There was mail for Shoko! It was from Cat Scouts. The parcel held a kerchief from the April quest Shoko was on. Shoko wanted her new kerchief on like right now.
Are we brave enough? Is nip green with purple polka dots? Of course we’re scared but we’re Canadians so we talk our way out of difficulties. MOL
Here I am before mom touched me. Look sophisticated, don’t I?
My turn: This is me relaxing in the crib type cat pole. I woke up and got up to pose for this picture.
Yes, it is…it’s the before. Is too Kali? No it’s not Shoko…you cheat! Isn’t this different for me? I’m a southern belle.
A happy looking gentleman.
Dad is waiting in the Atlanta airport. Where’s mom? OK dad, what did you do with her?
Aww..there’s mom…rarin’ to go I see!
It’s onward to Miami….it’s Florida mom.
The flight took about 2 hours and these two were planting their feet in Florida soil. Right away they learned peeps seemed crazy here. They all seemed to need a brush up on how to drive a vehicle. The first one to get a lesson would be the cab driver. After a ride that scared the cwap outta them they were at the hotel on Miami Beach. Immediately they headed for the boardwalk and then the beach.
They wanted to dip their toes in the Atlantic….the Pacific had their whole bodies but the Atlantic could have their toes only.
This time mom looks like she’s telling that little girl where the monkey lands in the buckwheat. The little girl looks scared.
My good cod, you do take a lousy picture mom. MOL
Finally its Friday. This means mom won’t be running out everyday to get stuff. Today she had to get her eyebrows and mouse-stash waxed. She looks normal again…female even.
Kali has had a rough time cause she has been very sick to her stomach. She had to go to the vets this week and she was not happy about it. Unfortunately her food allergy is back.
Kali says the only saving grace of the whole visit was the lovin’ her favourite receptionist Joan laid on her. When Kali got home she was feeling down. This new development meant no more Siamese dry cat food and the Fancy Feast wet will be reduced. Instead we will get more of the Hypoallergenic Soy HP dry. The HP is OK but by no means is it tasty. Our goal is to keep food on Kali’s tummy and slow down her bowels. So I’m willing to do my part for the ole girl.
Kali headed outside to sit under her swinging bench. Unfortunately the cow-kitten decided to visit Kali right then. He scared Kali and she took off after the cow-kitten just a hissin’ and spitin’ her head off. The cow-kitten got very scared and ran like mad through the hole in the fence.
A little while later the cow-kitten was back and following me around. Kali had headed inside for a well deserved nap as she was up a lot during the night as mom was too.
It is also the Artsy Caturday Blog Hop tomorrow at Athena and Marie’s Blog. Simply click on the name of the blog hop and view the other anipals with their pictures.
We have been busy planting veggie seeds and generally doing all things to do with the garden, such as planting transplants with fertilizer and bone meal. Bone meal gives these wee guys strong roots and it smells divine…at least to us kitties.
We were minding our own business last Thursday and a young cat came up and talked at, not just me but mom too. Mom, of course told this young male how handsome he was. His smokey grey fur was not knotted, teeth clean, ears clean, he was very friendly and not afraid of humans. He stayed and stayed. When mom and I went inside the grey floofy cat came with us. Of all the nerve, he jumped in my toy box and stuck his head into my toys. Mom thought it was cute. I sure didn’t and neither did dad. Dad took this young boy outside and put him on the deck. I gotta admit the young guy was a looker. I wouldn’t tell him that and practiced my pathetic hiss. Kali got into the act and really hissed at him. Her hiss made him think twice.
We all went to bed and guess who was waiting for us in the morning….you got it….young grey cat was sitting on the rug outside. Mom always has a big bowl of water on the deck for cats that come for nip and get thirsty. This wee guy was hungry….you could tell by his cry. Mom fed him and he gobbled it down. Mom was starting to think he had been dumped in our Lane. There was no collar or ID of any kind. Mom decided to leave him for another day and see if anyone was calling for him. Dad was talking with this wee guy too. Mom heard him say, “I think I’ll call you George.” This signalled to mom that they were starting to get attached. Me? No, I wasn’t getting attached. I wanted this guy gone! He was obnoxious in his playfulness. Whenever I turned around, he was running at me….I know now he just wanted to play but at the time I thought he was coming after me. The good news…my hisser is stronger from using it more.
The next day was Saturday and our wee friend was still here so mom fed him when she fed us. He gobbled it down again…a hungry lad. Mom decided it was time to call the SPCA and they answered mom’s questions. They are a “no kill” society unless the animal is nasty to humans and cannot be trained to like humans. It was Spring and their cages were full but they did have one cage free. Mom and dad took the wee lad down to the SPCA in Kali’s cage. The poor guy was scared. Mom and dad sat with him for a wee while down at the SPCA. The nice lady gave him the name Oak St.(our street) and a Pet ID#. They told mom she could call at any time to find out how he was. Mom and dad left feeling positive that Oak St. would find a forever home.
We must thank Friends Furever and Paws 4 Moment for nominating us for the Creative Blogger Award. This was so kind. Noodles from the blog The Adventures of Noodle had nominated us before and we did our whole talk then. Thank you so much for thinking of us.
Last year when we were trying to get used to having a blog and everything about the blog scared mom, we were nominated by Friends Furever for the One Lovely Blog Award.
Mom panicked and didn’t send another post for like 3 weeks….then she felt guilty for not thanking Friends Furever because we knew Raz and Allie so well from Cat Scouts. We did thank them in an e-mail but not on the blog. It was hell around this household for days as mom wrestled with this horrible dilemma. Bottom line she didn’t know how to handle this lovely award. She didn’t know anybody else to pass it to and after much debate between mom and me we decided to put it on the back burner, so to speak.
Today we have a fair idea of what we’re doing with the blog. We don’t know a lot still but are gaining more understanding, thanks to our friends with blogs. What a community this is! We are all friends here and we help each other. I am so glad I encouraged mom to continue cause we are having lotsa fun.
Now, to honour the One Lovely Blog award we are going to tell everyone 3 things you haven’t heard or read about us. You mean peeps are talking about us behind our back, mom. No Shoko, its just a figure of speech. *Shoko shakes her head*…I dunno mom, I don’t like the idea of peeps talkin’ bout me when I’m not there. Just drop it Shoks.
Here we go:
1/ Kali and I each have our own placemats for our Fancy Feast. Aren’t they cool?
2/ Kali refuses to stand on her placemat and eat…guess its a Flame Point thing?….who knows.
3/ Mom and dad bought a robot vacuum for us to play hide and seek with. Well, maybe it wasn’t just for us but we’re havin’ fun with it.
Now, to name the 3 blogs that should have this award. Well, every single blog we follow deserves this award. In fact if I didn’t feel that way….I wouldn’t follow them. Every blog is very special to me. The amount of time you have taken out of your day to write a post to either inform, make us laugh or to show us your day makes us a great community. Please take this award my friends, with our blessings.
