A Side trip To An Amazing Town

KALI……ORANGE                                                                               Mom and dad were up early to catch the train headed north.  They caught the bus to King’s Cross Station.

We thank Mr. Goggle for the use of this image.Aha….I smell a challenge!  Looks like a long walk to get insideYou can do it mom.

The inside seemed much more like spaces mom and dad were used to as the waiting rooms were huge.  St Pancras was bigger but the areas tended to be divided up more…  just sayin’.

Hey, this is where they filmed the scene as Harry Potter goes through the pillar at Platform 9  3/4 to catch the Hogwarts Express.

For those of you not familiar with Harry Potter please click on his name and you’ll get a brief history of him.

Woo hoo, mom had to try this one.

Looks like it didn’t work…take another run at the pillar mom. MOL

The train arrived at just the right time.  It is a shiny one.  We like shiny things.

They each had a, “Ticket to ride.” MOL

Arriving 3 hours later at Norgate.  A lovely town with hardly a car on the roads…they sure weren’t in London anymore.  Who offered them a ride but Bionic Basil’s PA and dad.  Cathrine and Josh took us to view a beautiful old church called Southwell Minister. Bionic Basil’s post of  Shoko and my meeting was reblogged on The Canadian Cats.

Cathrine and mom posing for pictures.  Josh is in the background.

We all headed over to see Basil and the Heathen Horde.  Well, Basil was waiting for us to come through the door.                                                                    I can just hear Basil saying, “What took you so long to get here?” MOL

Here is more of the horde.   They were very interested in what mom and dad were doing here.

Mom will always thank Cathrine and Josh for the Yorkshire Gold tea they found for mom.

Before they knew it, the time came for mom and dad to get back on the train.

One last look at Basil’s backyard where he and the horde play their war games.

Mom and dad were off  to London on the train.

They had one place to go in the evening and it was to the theatre to see The Mousetrap.  No mice were injured in the play.  This play has been running since the 1950’s.  They changed theatre’s in the 70’s, moving to St. Martin’s Theatre.  The cast has changed but the play keeps going.  Mom and dad were mesmerized by the actors and thoroughly enjoyed the play.                                                                      This was mom and dad’s last night in London.  Tomorrow they fly to Vancouver, British Columbia for another fun visit.

Have a fun Caturday

Mom and Dad Fly the Friendly Skies

Did mom tell you about their trip to France and the UK, Shoko?  She told me about France, Kali.  Did she tell you about the UK?  She did.  Then between the two of us we can tell our friends what they did on their vacation.

SHOKO…..BLACK
KALI…..ORANGE

In the middle of March mom and dad said goodbye and we never saw them again….whoa Shoko, they did come home.  Well, it was like 3 weeks till we saw those bleary  eyes again.  That’s like forever for a feline.                                                                            You have to be the biggest drama queen in Prince George, Shoko!

Off they flew down to Vancouver and to their motel  Dad grabbed someone else’s suitcase in the airport and never noticed until the airport called and told him.  Mom’s niece drove dad back to the airport to get their suitcase.

When the family gathered for dinner, they all gave mom the respect she deserved and kissed her ring.  Oh brother!  Mom is not the godfather of her family.  Who is then?  Nobody…it’s just a normal family.  Mom has a normal family….I don’t think so, there’s got to be something odd about them.  Whatever Shoko.

The next day they got up and flew on Air Canada to Montreal.  Four hours of cramped legs and a TV  set so close it was almost up her nose as the person in front set their seat to go back several feet.  Ok, Kali a few inches.  Geesh!

Mom was off the plane right smartly in Montreal and 3 gates away was the flight to Paris.  She quickly rushed over as they were calling for everyone to board.  Mom and dad were on the plane right smartly and then they sat and sat on the plane as the plane needed de-icing but there were two planes waiting to be de-iced first.

Finally the plane took off for Paris.  Mom was excited to be going to such a well-known and romantic city.  Six hours later, the thrill of going to  Paris had worn off as she felt sweaty, hot and incredibly tired.  Dad was snoring in the seat beside her.  She wanted to poke him but restrained herself.

At long last they arrived at Charles De Galle Airport in Paris.  The hotel chauffeur gave them the ride of their life.  There were mopeds all over the street, weaving in and out of traffic, that was bumper to bumper.  They reached the hotel safely and leaped to solid ground.                                                                   The best picture of a moped in traffic mom could get.  The bikes go like stink.

After checking into their little room, mom and dad went for a drink of Pepsi in the hotel lounge.  There was a small courtyard off the lounge so our pawrents decided to partake of the fresh air.  No Pepsi but Coca Cola everywhere in France.  Coke will do in a pinch.                                                             Does she not look like an enthusiastic explorer? MOL

Next installment finds mom and dad trying to navigate the Paris  transportation system.

Strolling down the Street One Day

Mom and I went for a stroll yesterday, a long stroll.  The sun was peeking through the clouds and there was just a spit of rain here and there.  So off we went down the street.  I was a little embarrassed, peeps were pointing and laughing at me….this is rude.  Mom told me to ignore them and enjoy the ride.  So I lay down and watched all the peeps and scenery go by.                                                                           aaassistedThis is Gateway Facility for Seniors where mom volunteers every Monday.  They have a nice bench mom relaxed on before we continued our travels.

Mom went strolling down a busy street where semi’s were rushing by me.  I was getting a little scared but we got off of the sidewalk, stopped and talked with a lady that had purple hair.  She had a shopping cart with the statement…”I can’t take it anymore.”  She was a sad lady.  Mom and I talked with her for a long time.  She told us her story and we listened.  By the time we left she looked a little more hopeful.

We strolled into the Youth Centre where dad volunteers and he was delighted to see us.  He proceeded to show us the new wheelchair lift they had gotten recently.  Mom and I just had to ride on it.                                                                     aacrsmliftAfter this amazing display where dad brought the bar down on mom’s head and I mewed in merriment, while mom was a little ticked, we went home.

Shoko was waiting for us on the fence and came dancing in the front door while mom picked up the mail.  There was mail for Shoko!  It was from Cat Scouts.  The parcel held a kerchief from the April quest Shoko was on.  Shoko wanted her new kerchief on like right now.

There you have it, Shoko modelling her kerchief.  Does she look like a proud dudette or what?                                                                      jack_o_lantern_canadiancats

The Stroller Tryouts

Git away from me, mom.  I don’t want to ride in that box on wheels!  Kali doesn’t look very interested either.  What are you doing….throwing Island Paradise into the box?  You can get them Kali.  I have a feeling mom is going to trap one of us in there.

akazmcr                                                                          akssm1

Ok, get out now Kali…run like the wind.  You’re too late…mom’s moving the box.                                                             akzmstrWhoa, Kali is refusing to sit down!  She does not look happy.

aksmAre you ok Kali?  I don’t like this a bit Shoko.  There are nice comfy blankies here but I don’t like the movement.  Let me out!  Mom’s heading for the bed so you can jump off.  Geez if Kali doesn’t like it……I gotta wonder!                                                          ashstrWaiting for it to seem strange …..nothing’s happening.  Kali, this is kinda fun.  I don’t have to walk, I’m just rollin’ along and its comfy.                                                            ashzmcrOh, it looks interesting over this way mom.  C’mom step on the gas…I wanna see what’s happening.                                                     ashcrWell, paint me yellow and call me a cab, I really enjoyed the spin around the inside of the house. No fuss, just a sweet ride with blankies that feel so comfy on my tush.  I must rethink the idea that pet strollers are bad.                                                                              Kali and Shoks

Let’s Look For Them Again

Mom decided we better go look for Bashful again because its going to freeze overnight and even though Sky’s sis is used to this kind of weather, Bashful is not.  So off mom and I went to examine more of the Lane.

We looked into the car man’s junky vehicles.

No sign of them.  Nothing!  We then headed over to the house that’s falling apart.

I think they’re over here mom!  I see some wiggle marks.  I’ll go onto the property here at the falling apart house.                                                                           There they are….in the long grass by the tree!  Be careful mom, you don’t want to step on them.  Let me go and tell them we’re here.  Mom nods to me.

Hi Bashful.  How about if mom gives both of you a ride home in her hand.  Mom, let’s see your hand….Bashful and his friend would like a ride home.  Mom puts her hand down, Bashful and his lady friend hop on.                                                                   Stop mom, let me look.  My, my…..she is quite the looker.  I’ll bet the boy rocks are beating a path to her door.

Sis, I’m so happy to see you again.  I thought maybe you were lost for good.  I was so scared.  You look so cold sis.  Would you like some oregano to get warm.  Yes, these peeps have oregano.  I know, we’re really lucky.

*yawn* You must be even sleepier than I am sis.  Let’s go to bed and snuggle.                                                             I can’t wake these two just to find out the name of the bigger one.  Don’t you know Bashful?  You were with her for a few days.  She never said her name.  I guess we’ll just have to wait until they wake up.
