Angel Kali’s 16th Birthday

Shoko it’s a special day today.  It would have been Kali’s 16th birthday.  A real landmark.  She is celebrating in heaven now but we won’t be unhappy cause she shared so many good times with us.

MOM…..MAROON
SHOKO…..BLACK

Do you remember when you first came to live with us?  I remember some things mom.  You made Kali’s life a lively place.

MOL…I remember that. I thought Kali was going to eat me! mol

She was a knockout.  A cat that was born to be beautiful.  She spent hours on her fur and paws.

She hated bugs and would come inside at the slightest sound of a bug.  The one exception was if I brought her a stunned fly.  She liked those.

Remember how she loved oregano! She rolled in the oregano and then the dirt. MOL She loved it. You’re right Shoks.

What a mess she was.  She was happy though.

We grew so very close.  We would lay on the bed and listen to our Bedtime Story.
So many memories. We are very fortunate to have such happy memories, Shoko.

Look at the lovely card that Buddy Budd of Tomcat Timmy’s Commentary made up for Kali’s birthday.

Fantastic card right from the heart… Kali will love this.

Let’s gobble up this strawberry cake that the guys and Miss Fitz made over at Timmy’s Commentary.  Kali’s favourite cake was strawberry.  It tastes pretty darn good. Mmmm  Go visit Timmy’s place and share your feelings.

Buddy, we want to keep you here on earth for a few more years.  You will be with Kali again and forever.

Sparks of Support

Today is Sparks Monday with Annie of McGuffy’s Reader.  She thought a positive thought to start the week will bring positive results and I agree.

I got to thinking about my family and the positive feelings I get from them.  They do a lot for me.

When I get sad, mom is there with some kinda treat to cheer me up.  She reads to me and gives me cuddles when I’m having a tough time.  Shoko calls me”Fuzz Face” or some such name to let me know I’m special to her.  She’s not a mushy girl so one must read between the lines.  Dad, well he’s extra special in his way.  He’s learning how to talk with us and we love him for it.  He’s kinda unsure but is relaxing and we talk back to him.  He spent many years working away from home so we didn’t know him that well.  Well, he’s a terrific guy.  We know if we go to him he will help us with whatever problem we have.  That’s my family, real and always there for support.

I try to always remember no matter how bad things get, my family is always there for me.

ATTENTION: Elaine Faber, that fabulous writer of The Black Cat Series and Mrs. Odboddy series has a free copy of Mrs. Odboddy, The Hometown Patriot, available on Kindle.  Check http://tinyurl.com/hdbvzsv to see if it’s still free.  I love to get something for free, how bout you?  We loved this book, You’ll laugh at her persnickety ways. You’ll be hooked on her mysteries. Mrs. Odboddy could be a Crotchety Cougar for sure!

Sparks are Flyin’

Today is McGuffy Reader’s Spark day.  We give a quote of some positive encouragement for others.

We were thinking of how to brighten someone’s day and thought of:

Can you think of a better SPARK to go flyin’ on the breeze as a smile?  You can only give a smile away to do any good.  What happens when you smile at someone on the street?  Sometimes they will look at you and turn their head away.  It’s not because they don’t like you, they don’t know you.  A smile from a stranger is just so different that they don’t know what to do.  However, they will remember your smile for at least the rest of the day.  What about the ones that smile back?  These peeps are open and ready to accept your free gift.  They will be more positive and pass your gift along.  Yet it cost you nothing.                                         Maybe don’t smile quite this happily or peeps will think you’re nuttier than a fruitcake and avoid you.

Have a positive Monday, my friends.

Gimme Beads and Fancy Things

SHOKO…..BLACK

KALI…..ORANGE

Yesterday was Fat Tuesday, a French Catholic tradition that celebrates debauchery before Lent begins with Ash Wednesday for Christians. The festival date varies from city to city, but most Americans base their celebration of Mardi Gras off of the famous celebration in New Orleans.                                                                                  mardimaskKali do you remember when mom and dad went to New Orleans?  Oh ya, they had fun.  So did we…MOL,  Dai$y of databbiesotrouttowne was a riot.  The trout she brought to the party was so delicious and big.  This was the first time we tasted trout, where has it been all our life?

Mom and dad went south right after Mardi Gras two years ago..  Mom brought us back some beads that were hanging on the trees.                                                                            shoko-with-mardi-gras-beads

Mom said the houses were so colourful and the streets so pretty.

dscn0836This is a circle street near the Confederate Museum.  They had an Italian sandwich sitting on a park bench watching the birds.                                                        shoko-withmaskDo you get the feeling mom and dad are going away again this year?  I do Shoko.  Wonder where they’ll be off to this year?  Mmmm…I wonder.  We’ll be partaying again this year then.

May you sleep like the pigs….How do pigs sleep?

With their eyes closed of course.                                                                                        sistersinarmswinter
