Watcha doin Kali?

What’s it look like Shoko?  For heaven sakes……I’m drying my hind paw nails.  I’ve never painted them before and thought I’d try doing them at least once.  It’s usually hard to bend deep enough to get the whole nail but not in this special Princess bed.                                                               MOL…ya, you do look like a little, twisted sister!                                                        

You won’t catch me painting my nails like some Hussey.

 

Shoks, do you remember Henrietta….a pretty Calico that lived a few houses down from us?                                               

  Yep, we all called her Henny cause she pecked at the ground like a hen looking for bugs.

Well, she refused to paint her nails too.  One day Cow Kitty mouthed off at her and she clawed at his leg.                                                       

 Do you know that her nails fell out?  Just the ones that touched Cow Kitty but they ripped and then came out.

No!!  Why did they fall out?  They were so weak cause she had no way to harden her nails.  She refused to paint them, even with clear polish.  That polish would have toughened up her nails.                                                

Whatever happened to her?   She was very embarrassed!  Finally, the family moved away but we never did see much of Henny after that horrible incident.  So, that’s why we didn’t see her very often.  I didn’t know that Kali. I’ll have to rethink my objection to the polish.                                                       Wink, wink

Who’s Knocking on the Door?

You’ll never guess what happened on Friday.  I was just lying around trying to get comfy after my afternoon snack and the doorbell rang.

 I watched to see who it was at the door.Naturally, Shoko ran into the bedroom like the big chicky she is.

Well, for heaven’s sake what is it?  It’s for me!!  It’s a Princess Bed, all my own,

I want my blue blanket in with me, mom.  It keeps me warm.

 I feel nekked without my blanket.  I want it back.  Much better.

See, I’m kneading the back of the Princess Bed….I’m very happy.

Where is Shoko, I want to show her the new bed….my new bed. 

I see Kali.  Wasn’t that nice of mom….it’s obviously yours, I can’t think of another princess around here.                                                  ♪ I gotta be me!♪

Cwap…I gotta get outta here!

Cow Kitty, do you still live here?  Come out and play.  I miss you!                                                   

Memories of a Northern Winter

C’mon Kali, let’s blow this joint.  Why?  It’s nice and cozy in here.  We need the fresh air blowing in our furs.  The wind is terrible.  I want to be warm.  Ok, so it’s cold.  How cold is it, Shoko?  It’s so cold the snowman has rosy cheeks!

Do you remember the time mom was out shovelling off the deck and then came in to have a hot bath?                                                                             aamomsnow

Boy, do I ever. MOL The hot water on her cold butt was not relaxing….she said it was so painful and she was fussing about. MOL. She learned to get herself a little wet with warm water before leaping into a hot tub.  Experience is a great teacher.

You’re too young to remember mom with the old Taurus but she had trouble plugging the car in so dad got her a light that would turn on when the car was plugged in.  You mean sorta like a plug-in for idiots?  MOL…exactly.

Ohhh, what about the time Cow Kitty’s dad left his truck on the street and the snow plough came along and blocked him in.  The snow was deep that year.  It was so funny watching him dig his car out,,,he used words we can’t say…..at least when mom’s looking. MOL

C’mon sis let’s get some air….ok, lead on Shoko.

Our Easter Winnings Arrived The Other Day

We were so excited….we had won something.  Last year we won a book from The Cat on my Head and this year we entered a contest put on by 15 and Meowing.com and won.  We hurried mom along and she eventually tore the envelope open.

Look at the blankie and toys mom!  Woohoo…we needed a new blankie our old one fell apart.

Here is Kali enjoying the toys and me laying like a princess on the blankie.  Mom found where Ellen made a velcro opening to put catnip in and she put the nip she dried from last year.  Holy Cat!!  What a beautiful aroma.
