Another Sunday. This one was sunny and bright and just got above freezing. Shoko nd I wandered down the Lane but nobody wanted to play. So we wandered to our backyard and devoured the catnip plant. It was limp and yucky looking anyway.
I of course continued playing with Spot
We decided I’d be the selfie this week and the best spot for me was in my Murphy Bed.
Positive Thoughts Help A Struggling Plant
Shoko get away from the prayer plant. Mom doesn’t want teeth marks in her new plant. Just examining it for bugs. Some of these bugs can be pretty small and annoying. Like yourself, perhaps? That’s not funny Kali…..I’m being helpful. That’s true Shoko and I’m sorry for my lack of grace. I must’ve been in your company too long.
SHOKO…..BLACK
KALI…..ORANGE
You know Kali, this Prayer Plant needs to be repotted….like now! It’s very root bound. How can I get mom’s attention so she’ll repot this Prayer plant.
Is this close enough to the edge of the counter, Kali? I think that did it Shoko, she’s getting the dirt and a new pot.
Mom found a baby plant in the Prayer plant and divided it from the big Prayer plant. Now they each have a new home.
Mondays are McGuffy’s Reader‘s day for spreading some positive thoughts into our environment.
Our positive thought involves the Prayer plant.
My positive attitude that the prayer plant needed repotting led to mom seeing that the prayer plant did indeed need repotting and her finding a baby plant as a positive outcome.
Talk with a stranger as you walk down the street. You may be the first to speak to him all day.
Friday’s Fantabulously Friendly Fill-Ins
Ellen from 15 and Meowing and Annie from McGuffy’s Reader have given us four sentences to fill in with the way we see things. We plan to take turns and let you know how we feel. SHOKO…..BLACK
KALI……ORANGE
A law I would like to see passed is…….a law making Catnip, British Columbia’s national plant. Then give every cat here, their very own plant. Life as it is today.
2. My favorite card game is…..Go Fish…I love fishing. I f I could catch a salmon….I’d be set for life. We’re waiting patiently for the fish to drop from the sky. Mom says that the mama fish drops a whole pile of eggs and then they hatch. C’mon a whole bunch of eggs drop into the pool. We’re waiting. MOL
Ok Kali my turn..you go rest your paws.
Getting Ready For The Growing Season
My stars…mom says its time to plant some transplants already. It’s not even the 24th of May yet. We usually plant on our Canadian national holiday of the Queen’s birthday, Not this queen, but Queen Victoria. I don’t really know why we celebrate her cause this queen has a birthday too and she’s still going strong at 90. I digress…the weather has been very warm here. Mom’s thoughts have turned to planting time. So everybody in the household has padded out to the garden and done some work.
Dad rototilled the soon to be planted veggie garden. Mom will soon sit in the soil and plant the seeds. I will help her by digging out the rows. Kali will lie on the air mattress mom uses.
The water in the saucer is for the kitties that wander over here and are thirsty after partaking of the Nip. The stones in the saucer are places for the bees to have a drink. I try not to grab any flies taking the water…I usually am busy with my watering chores and don’t see them.
Kali is supervising the work dad and mom are doing but she doesn’t want to get her paws dirty.
Mom decided we needed a break so we took a walk in the Lane.
I looked both ways before I stepped into the Lane. There could be some weird kitty or, heaven forbid, a dog in the Lane. All was clear.
Cow Kitty is that you here at the cwappy house?
It is you! What a great place to lay, in the cool long grass.
Cow Kitty looks like we woke him. MOL
Let’s take Cow Kitty and go home Shoks…there is more to do in the backyard. Ok, mom let’s go. C’mon Cow Kitty, the dirt is calling us!
Have a messy but fun day my friends.
