Summer Sunday Selfie with Shoko

This is going to be a different selfie for me.  We’ll follow my plight with the cool sprinkler.  The water fascinated me.Mom was watering the sweet peas and container flowers with the sprinkler as the hose just wouldn’t soak in enough.                                                                                    I came along and enjoyed the wetness on my paws and what is this I see?                                                                                Cool clear water stuck in the sprinkler…I wonder if I can drink some before the rain comes.                                                                                   That rain is getting closer and closer…..maybe I should leave….um…                                                                                         Yep, it’s time to vacate the area…exit stage left or your right. MOL

Do pop over and visit The Cat on My Head to see the line up of kitties and anipals that have snapped their pictures.

A Side trip To An Amazing Town

KALI……ORANGE                                                                               Mom and dad were up early to catch the train headed north.  They caught the bus to King’s Cross Station.

We thank Mr. Goggle for the use of this image.Aha….I smell a challenge!  Looks like a long walk to get insideYou can do it mom.

The inside seemed much more like spaces mom and dad were used to as the waiting rooms were huge.  St Pancras was bigger but the areas tended to be divided up more…  just sayin’.

Hey, this is where they filmed the scene as Harry Potter goes through the pillar at Platform 9  3/4 to catch the Hogwarts Express.

For those of you not familiar with Harry Potter please click on his name and you’ll get a brief history of him.

Woo hoo, mom had to try this one.

Looks like it didn’t work…take another run at the pillar mom. MOL

The train arrived at just the right time.  It is a shiny one.  We like shiny things.

They each had a, “Ticket to ride.” MOL

Arriving 3 hours later at Norgate.  A lovely town with hardly a car on the roads…they sure weren’t in London anymore.  Who offered them a ride but Bionic Basil’s PA and dad.  Cathrine and Josh took us to view a beautiful old church called Southwell Minister. Bionic Basil’s post of  Shoko and my meeting was reblogged on The Canadian Cats.

Cathrine and mom posing for pictures.  Josh is in the background.

We all headed over to see Basil and the Heathen Horde.  Well, Basil was waiting for us to come through the door.                                                                    I can just hear Basil saying, “What took you so long to get here?” MOL

Here is more of the horde.   They were very interested in what mom and dad were doing here.

Mom will always thank Cathrine and Josh for the Yorkshire Gold tea they found for mom.

Before they knew it, the time came for mom and dad to get back on the train.

One last look at Basil’s backyard where he and the horde play their war games.

Mom and dad were off  to London on the train.

They had one place to go in the evening and it was to the theatre to see The Mousetrap.  No mice were injured in the play.  This play has been running since the 1950’s.  They changed theatre’s in the 70’s, moving to St. Martin’s Theatre.  The cast has changed but the play keeps going.  Mom and dad were mesmerized by the actors and thoroughly enjoyed the play.                                                                      This was mom and dad’s last night in London.  Tomorrow they fly to Vancouver, British Columbia for another fun visit.

Have a fun Caturday

•Tweedledum and Tweedledee Land In London

SHOKO…..BLACK
KALI…..ORANGE

Mom and dad flew into London on rails and walked 87 miles from the Eurostar into St. Pancras Station.  Then out the other side to the main exit.  Dad rushed on ahead of mom…cause she was walking like she was dragging a moose behind her.  Mom finally made it to the exit and guess who greeted her?  It was Princess Leah, and her mom and dad.  Our dad was there too.                                                              How exciting Shoko.  They all went for tea in  St. Pancras Station. I think mom was stunned as she didn’t seem to take many pictures.                                                                      Here is Princess Leah’s mom, Julie and her dad, Mike.  Her Royal Highness is trying to get at the Canada Goose Shoko and I stuck in mom’s suitcase for Leah.  Mom said she enjoyed a relaxing cuppa with Leah and her parents.  She could have stayed and enjoyed their company for several more hours but it was time to get to the hotel. Take a look at Princess Leah’s Blog and see more pictures of our meeting.

Now St. Pancras Station is an old castle like building.  It is beautiful beyond compare.  Any repairs to the old structure are kept in the same style.                                                    Mom and dad caught a taxi to their hotel…The TavistockIt wasn’t far but these two decided they didn’t need to struggle down the sidewalk with their suitcases.                                                            Our travellers woke in Normandy and now they were in London.  To say they were tired was an understatement.

The next day found mom and dad deciding to walk about their area around the Tavistock Hotel.                                                                               Mom and dad liked the quaint shops along the street.                                                                The Post Box was so shiny and new looking.  Where the ones in Prince George look like they had a fight with a woofie and lost.                                                                          MOL….mom is in her glory looking for different spices and concoctions than in Canada.

The next place to find was Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium.  A bit of a challenge for our wanderers.

I won’t show you all the areas they wandered in and out but  Chinatown and Coventry Gardens were two of the districts.

They found Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium just as dad was starting to say they had come the wrong way while he was pushing mom on her walker.  They both were so excited they forgot to take a picture.

Inside was a small cat heaven. There were cats sleeping…of course.  Cats watching the pigeons and greeter cats showing us around.                                                                       Shoko would be crazy over these stairs….dropping on me from above.                                                                                Look at these caves for the cats.  They look like they’re in the wild forests of Africa.  What a hoot.

The birds outside caught these kitties attention while we sat and had High Tea.

A most satisfying visit to their first cat café.

Next installment…visiting Harrods Department Store.

Blogger Recognition Award From Lexi: the schnauzer

Oh my, lexi the schnauzer recommended us for this lovely award.  We thank you Lexi for the honour and thinking of us.

Now, I am suppose to recommend 15 blogs to receive this award.  Many blogs that I follow have been here for years and probably either already have this award or don’t do awards.  Oh what the nip!  I will name 5 blogs and if they choose not to participate, so be it.

Stunning Keisha…..a wise cracking kitty who believes she should have the last word in the household.

Piglove…..in the Thompson household there are 2 cats a wee dog and a pot bellied pig named Bacon.  Houdini( wee dog) looks after the posts on Friday and Bacon guides his bro.  The 2 cats are laughing at them but Bacon and Houdini just think the cats are very happy.  A household with a pot bellied pig is hard to ignore.

The Kitten Diaries…Bella and Esme are two kittens trying their best to help girl- woman and boy-man with household chores.  At least their version of how the chore should be accomplished and along the way having a few adventures.

Timmy’s Commentary…..this is where my guy Einstein lives…he has a wonderful floofy tail, Timmy, Miss Fitz, Buttons, Kali’s love, Buddy also lives here.  Toby and a big white cat…beautiful fur..the mind clicks…Rumpy!  The going ons in this house are hilarious as the boys try to outdo each other while miss Fitz is giggling under her breath..

Da tabbies o trout towne ….trout towne has a population of 11.  Each inhabitant has his or her own idea on how things should be done.  There are 2 things they agree on.  Fish is the best possible meal and no birdz are allowed.

The other part of the award acceptance said to tell everyone how we got started and give a bit of advice to those starting out.

Well, this is going to sound very dramatic but mom had heart failure in the winter of 2013 and ended up getting a pace maker.  When the surgeon put in the pace maker he nicked the heart and the heart started bleeding.  Mom found she couldn’t walk far without being winded.  Very quickly the doctors discovered the bleeding and mom was medi-vacced down to Vancouver to a heart intensive care unit at St. Pauls Hospital.  Here she was poked and prodded and finally they drained the blood from around her heart.  Mom said it was the worst possible pain she ever felt.  She was in the hospital in Vancouver for about a week.  She and dad managed to make it home on a normal jet.  Mom was so proud but exhausted.  She wasn’t allowed to do much and  was slowly going bonkers so one day she looked at the computer and found Mousebreath magazine, then Cat Scouts and finally decided on a blog for me and my sis.

Mom has two pieces of advice…stay with the blog, so what if you have 1 visitor….do the blogging for you and a record of your pet.  Then as Lexi says, lots of pictures.  We all love to see our friends in funny positions or just mellowing out.

To those I’ve named, simply follow the same things as I have done and link back to The Edge of Night.

The very last thing to do is let the blogs that have been nominated know.
