Bye, mom…why are we waving a paw at mom? Where’s she going? She’s going to cash in her birthday gift certificates and have a pedicure and manicure. I envy her so much, Shoko. This is what I want for my birthday too.
Oh no! What’s wrong, Shoko? This means dad’s looking after us, on his own. So? He doesn’t know how we like things done. We better tell him. We should wait to see what he does himself. He may think we’re bossy if we start telling him what we like.
That’s a great idea, Kali. Here comes brekky, let’s see how he does.
Oh my! Dad, oh dad, I like way less gravy in my food. I want a whole lot more gravy in my food and I don’t like lumps either. Just sayin’ Are you going to eat it, Kali. No way Shoks, it looks ghastly! We should take a few licks though. K, *lick* *lick*…Shoko shakes her paws and walks away.
I’ll get a drink of water, that helps to fill me up. Kali stands in her water fountain and then starts pushing water out of the fountain. Dad puts a T-towel under the fountain to catch the water and tells Kali not to play in the water. But mom lets me play in the water.
Hey, dad, I can’t get a drink now. Mom fills the fountain after I play in the water.
This is no good at all. My Princess bed is all lumpy where I was playing groundhog. Mom usually floofs up our beds twice a day without being asked. I thought everyone did that for their kitties. We can go sleep on mom’s bed then, Kali. It’s not lumpy.
You gotta admit dad is good at the game “in and out”. He’s right there when I want out and again when I want in. He looks like he’s getting fed up with the game though so we better find a new game.
Look, dad’s giving us lunch. Mom doesn’t give us lunch. Dad, I like my food out of a freshly opened tin….I get first dibs. No, I don’t like turkey! Kali likes turkey, I like beef. He doesn’t listen, does he? Well, I prefer lotsa gravy in my turkey pate. We told you this morning. I like just a wee bit of gravy in my beef pate. Let’s switch and then we’ll be happy. Done deal, Kali. *Burp* that was tasty and now I could use a nap. When is mom coming home? Don’t know but hope it’s soon. I feel scruffy, I need a good grooming. Dad would never think of it. At least he feeds us, Kali.
Treats for no reason! Mom doesn’t do that. Oh, dear….dad just dumped them in front of me! Dad, it was so nice of you to give us treats but we prefer you gave us one at a time. Then we feel special.
I got treats dumped by me too. Oh dear. Time for mom to come home. I think I hear her in the living room.
Samantha of Samanthamurdochblog nominated us for the “The Shuffle The Music Tag” and we thank you, Samantha, for thinking of us. Granted she nominated us in August and us lazy ones are just getting around to posting now. Glad Samantha never held her breath waiting for our response.
We are sharing with you our playlist……actually its Kali’s playlist on the computer. I turn the music on when Kali gets uptight with whatever pains she’s currently enduring. Kali is very fond of all of these songs as she becomes mellow and relaxes. Seeing these are her songs, she can guide us through them. Take it away, Kali.
For “The Shuffle The Music Tag” just put whatever device you use to listen to your music on, and press the shuffle button, and write a little something about the first fifteen songs that come up, what they mean to you, their history, whatever takes your fancy. We will be doing 10 songs. Then nominate seven or more people to participate, obviously letting them know.
I use the computer and *I Tunes* so mom shuffled my music.
1/ The first song up is I Guess The Lord Must Be In New York City by Harry Nilsson. This song has relaxing lyrics and the tempo is perfect for drying nail polish on my toes. Granted occasionally I swing my paws over the side of my Princess Bed as the tune is so catchy. All in all a soothing song. Sorry, the sun is blocking my paw but my nails are drying faster. mol
This song is so relaxing that if I get upset, this song has me clapping my paws and mellowing with sleepy eyelids. Mom was saying that these chaps played at many of the spots in England that the Beatles did. Well, I’ll be a bug!
Mom thinks I like this song but it makes me feel so cold as the peeps struggled so hard in this movie. It’s a great song for those hot summer days. Cools off the warmest of days.
Typical Harry Nilsson song with soothing sounds from a powerful voice. This song was featured in Midnight Cowboy with Jon Voight.
Mew, mew….this song is great when I’m feeling down cause my paws are hurting so I feel very unimportant. The upbeat sounds of this song make it so I can’t be down for long….I want to get up and investigate a drawer and try to find some nip.
This song reminds me of all my woofie friends and their favourite pass time. It would be neat to bury one’s treats and come back later to retrieve them. Unfortunately, I have this thing about dirt. I will not eat anything with dirt all over it. It’s a very icky habit. Shoko eats things she buries but not moi.
A terrible plight for these sailors out on Lake Superior or Lake Gitchee Gumee To me, this is not relaxing but Gordon Lightfoot has a great voice and mom likes the song.
This is a song just for us Canadian girls, Shoko, mom and me. It makes me feel happy with its upbeat music. I want to dance but Shoko’s a terrible dancer….always stepping on my paws.
She looks good but watch those spikes….they hurt like hell-o!
This song drives me crazy! I love this guy’s voice. He makes the sun shine in my heart when he sings to me. What a voice…..if only my Buddy could sing like him.*sigh*
Isn’t he somethin’? hehe.
This is my very favourite song! I could just float away on the words. I can just picture Moon River as blue as can be without an insect or reptile in it. Just cruising along the river in a paddlewheeler with Buddy holding my paw. *Aha, sigh* I know it’s supposed to be the Mississippi River and that’s so muddy that your shadow will have dirt on it…..forget all that just go with the sweet music and the illusion you get.
There you have it, friends. My playlist and a hot one it is too. I have more songs on it but this will give you an idea of my favourites.
We’re supposed to nominate 7 peeps/kitties for The Music Tag. I am reluctant because I would like to hear everybody’s idea of good music. Phenny of Easy Blog...oh Phenny, tell me your playlist, Bacon from Piglove….bring it on bud. May I say that anyone else that wishes to do the playlist, please let us know so we can admire your songs.
Hi, friends, Kali here. Shoko says she will perform the daunting task of taking her picture while closing her eyes and laughing
like a fool happily. Shoko’s preparing the camera. You ready yet, Shoko? Ready, Kali.
I did it, Kali. I told Ya I could do it. The paw you can’t quite see did all the work.
Stop by The Cat On My Head’s blog and …hey, why not join us in a selfie of your own.
We have the purr factory going full tilt for all the peeps and furry ones in the path of Hurricane Irma. May the destruction be very little.
It’s harvest time in the veggie garden! Mom has been removing the veggies and canning, freezing, dehydrating and eating the veggies. Slowly the veggie garden is disappearing. You can see the garden is disappearing. The Brussel sprouts are slow but they taste sweeter after a frost anyhow.
The flower garden is overwhelmed with *Love Lies Bleeding* plants. Kali and I usually go into the Love Lies Bleeding to get some shade but there was so many of them that we couldn’t get under them. Disgusting mom! She says next year she’ll put the Love Lies Bleeding at the back of the garden so they don’t cover all the other plants like they’re doing this year. As you can see this garden is thick with this dang plant. The tomatoes will never turn red unless some are pulled out.
Mom sent away to Suddenly Cat for 2 fishes for us. Gosh! She sent away like 87 months ago and they arrived on Friday. I was delighted with this LED fish. It swims and lights up in water. mol I was mesmerized by this shiny and bright fish. Think I’ll call him Jaws.
While Jaws was enjoying his swim around the water bowl, I was trying to figure out how to get him out. No easy task my friends. I didn’t want to get my paw wet. I want to plunk this plastic fish down at Kali’s paws. Kali gets acne from plastic and I want to see her break out in pimples. MOL
Knock it off Kali. All I want to know is what’s under your paw. You’re a pest today. Am not. There’s nothing under my paw. Now. quit bugging me and let’s do the Friday Fill Ins that Ellen from 15 and Meowing and Annie from McGuffy’s Reader have stated for us. K, let’s do it. SHOKO…..BLACK
1. As a child, my favorite playground activity was …..HIDE AND SEEK. THERE ARE TONS OF PLACES TO HIDE IN THE VEGGIE GARDEN AND KALI COULD NEVER FIND ME.
2. For breakfast, I have…..FANCY FEAST, OF COURSE. NOM NOM, IT’S SO GOOD!
3. An instrument I would like to play is…..THE ELECTRIC GUITAR. CAN YOU IMAGINE, MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB SUNG TO THE SOUND OF AN ELECTRIC GEE TAR. MOL
4. I always try to ……TREAT OTHERS AS IF THEY ARE WEIRD, because…...YOU NEVER KNOW, SO I’M ALWAYS PREPARED.
Play nice my friends.
I was in the house dining as were mom and dad. Kali was trying to get up after an especially good dream of Buddy.
Dad looked out the window and said, “I think Cow Kitty is in trouble in the vegetable garden.” The three of us quickly headed outside to see what was wrong. As we got closer this is what we saw.
Cow Kitty was terrified and very agitated. Dad tried to remove his paw but Cow Kitty tried to scratch and bite him so dad told mom to get the scissors and he’d cut Cow Kitty out.
Cow Kitty must have been in some pain also. Dad cut Cow Kitty’s paw out of the pea netting and off he went. No limping just happier than hell-o to get out of the trap that had never bit him before.
Mom and dad never thought this pea netting could be hazardous to any animals but the squares are small and don’t stretch. Next year will be different as the netting will have big plastic squares so nothing will get caught.
Cow Kitty had a collar on…this is new for him. The collar came off when he struggled with the pea netting. There was no name on the collar but five bells. This is a sign of how great a hunter he is.
Due to Cow Kitty’s harrowing experience today we are making him honorary Artsy Fartsy model on Athena Cat Goddess Wise kitty’s blog.
Mom used Lunapic and used the Art Watercolour and lessened the effect. Then she rounded the border. Here is our Cow Kitty in all his glory.
MOL..Happy Canada Day from us Canucks.
