Thankful Thursday with Ornaments

Today is Thankful Thursday at Brian’s Home.  Join in the blog hop why don’tcha?  Just hit the red letters with your mousie and you’ll be visiting.
Today mom tried to decorate the livingroom.  I helped.  She put the greenery on the mantel.  I wanted to put my nanner on the mantel but slipped on the lights.  Oh dear!  Everything ended up on top of me on the floor.  So that didn’t help.  I tried again but with the same results.  Mom was getting a little ticked and I was getting tired.  Time to move on.
I examined the box where the tree lives for any parts that had fallen off.  Looks good dad…it’s a go….no pieces of the tree are stuck in the box.

The base had to be examined for any breakage, spider webs and other vermin.   Once again I helped.  I supervised the light inside the base, no spider or webs.  All other vermin had cleared out.  Check….ready for the tree.

I am so thankful that mom moved this tree indoors and is dressing it up.  What fun!!  Budd and Shoko like it too but don’t seem so excited.
I want to hug this tree….it’s beautiful.                                                                 C’mon let me hug you…..you big green trapeze.
Can you bring my dinner over here and I’ll share it with Mr. Tree.                                                              Then I’ll jump up and down on the branches and see if I bounce.

Come Fly With Me, Sammy

You know whose coming for a visit Shoko?  Who, Mrs. Claus is running away from home?  It’s Sammy of One Spoiled Cat.  He is flying around the world and will be stopping here for a visit.  When?  He’s here Shoko.                                                         comeflywithmeSammy!!  You look refreshed.  The cold air rushing by your ears must sound like an ocean but feeling it on your furry face would be awesome.  Sammy welcome to our house, have some dried nip from the garden.  Mom mixed it with silvervine.  It’s a trip without a balloon, MOL                                                              aaanipshoksmYour operating the Hot Air Balloon so need all your faculties about you.   OK….just let me get a sniff and we’ll look about Prince George.

ballooncatsLook….Even Cow Kitty came to see you off,  You are an icon around here Sammy.  We talk of you often and always yell, “SAMMY” before we eat any bacon we get.  Bye Shoko and Sammy, have a great time.  Quit yakking at Sammy and let them take off, Cow Kitty.

Up, up and away we go.                                                                      aamooseThere’s a moose for you.  It’s a female that probably lives among the trees going up to UNBC.  UNBC is the University of Northern British Columbia.  maybe we’ll fly over it.                                                               013496f3fc194d86b11049b86913be35This is the Fraser River, where mom would walk Kali when they lived in the other house.  They walked along the beach beside the river.  Mom saw 2 beavers swimming about a foot and a half from Kali.  Kali was busy getting a drink and didn’t notice them.  A typical Kali move.  This park is Ft. George Park.

I know it’s really cold tonight Sammy.  The weatherman said -30C.  A wee bit nippy ole pal.                                                                        unbc-campus-aeriel-534This is UNBC, Sammy.  Our pride and joy.  Do you see the yellow trees.  These are pines that were killed when the north was inundated with Pine Beetles a few years back.  What a loss.

See down there and to your left is downtown Prince George.  I was born on the streets of Prince George.  I think that’s why loud peeps don’t turn my crank now.                                                                            pgsm You can see in the background the pulp mills.  Prince George was known for its pulp mills at one time.  The mills had many workers and was the major industry here.  The town stunk of sulphur which is used in the process.  It was a horrible smell mom said but the townsfolk said it was the, *smell of money.*                                                                   aapg  Isn’t this a beautiful mountain and just on the outskirts of town.

Oh look Sammy it’s the Northern Lights.  When we get away from the downtown area we get to see them but only when the sky is clear.                                                                             northern-lightsSammy, you’re looking rather cold.  Let’s go back home and you can get warmed up before you are off to the next town to visit.                                                            kisssammyWe love ya Sammy and Kali wants to kiss you for just being you.  I’m not the mushy sort like Kali but you mean the world to me Sammy.  I am delighted you came to visit our frozen neck of the woods.

Have a safe trip to your next destination Sammy.  Bye!                                                             comeflywithme                                                                         candle

Snow, Snow Everywhere

Did it snow yesterday?  Holy Cow Kitty, did it snow!  I would just walk out the door and want right back in.  I’m getting annoyed at Cow Kitty cause he comes over and digs a hole in the snow and poohs on our back lawn.  This is gross!  Come spring there will be Cow Kitty deposits all over the lawn.

snowfallingzmKali and I thought this picture would be better than watching Cow Kitty go to the bathroom.  This picture doesn’t really show the volume of snow Shoks.  Find another.  You’re right Kali. the snow builds up on the fence and falls off.

This one gives you the idea of the volume after the snowfall.  This is the view from our dining room window.  It looks cold around here. MOL                                                   snowzm

I did say I would show you our new lawn ornament.  Dad out did himself.  We have Candy Cane lights around the railing but *sigh* they are dying and there are no more to be found in this town.  So dad has stretched them out….ya, it looks silly but what’s a dad to do?

Ta Da….here is the front lawn with our new sleigh!                                                                    decorationszmI know we need lots more decorations but they are costly and we don’t live far from Da (real) Hood.  The roughest part of town.  Every morning mom checks to make sure the sleigh is still in position.  Maybe the residents of Da Hood will respect each other during this special season and leave our sleigh be.

Kali has adopted her place  ‘neth the Christmas Tree….new word!  You heard it here first!

DSC_0814hehe…notice Kali is lying on one of her Christmas presents….she’s claimed it and I’m not allowed on it…..we’ll see about that Kali.

I was laying on the back of the Love Seat watching Kali get comfy when dad clicked me before I had a chance to close my eyes.                                                             shokszmcrophaha….what a scary look I have!  I’d scare the spots off Cow Kitty. MOL  In my defence I was taken off guard and my look is more…”What do you want and get outta my face.”  A true *Cat From Hell pose.*

Now one of our poses will be on The Cat On my Head’s Selfie Sunday but Kali and I must discuss who gets the honours this week.

Tomorrow you will see the winner.donechrispmouse

I WON!  My picture is in The Cat On My Head’s Sunday Selfie.  Simply click here and be whisked off to view all the other Anipals and me too.

Typical Tuesday

Today has been a laid back, do whatever you want day….at least for Kali and I. I started the day with a surprise wash from Kali. I wasn’t sure if she wanted some form of payment so I was a little suspicious of her motives.

After Kali gave me a bath. I was off to the ensuite to examine the shower. Mom has to be kept up to date on the shower condition….does it need cleaning or what? She is a tub freak and dad is the shower freak…sorry dad, you’re not really a freak. Just a term us kitties use for anyone that likes water.

This is lookin' kinda tacky mom....could use a few squirts of a cleaner and some paw power.

Nothing says I can’t have fun with my silvervine catnip bird while looking for grime.

Kali and I grabbed a small bowl of Fancy Feast Beef for breakfast. I cried out, “Where’s the beef?” in my best dramatic voice. Mom is getting used to it and just walked away. Kali headed into the living room to sit on our tree condo and practice taking selfies for the blog hop on Sunday.

Now this is close up

Now this is close up

I headed off to the hall for some practicing on my balancing bar.

I wonder if I could scale this wall and be the first SpiderCat?

Whew….just made it outside

The rest of the afternoon was much the same with in and out, in and out.

Mom is off to bed and we’re following to get a good comfy spot. We start a new book tonight.

Bring on the new book, mom

Bring on the new book, mom

The new book is titled, “More Cats in the Belfry.” In this house the author, Doreen Tovey, has two Siamese cats. This sounded good to us so we wanted to hear how other families like us live. It is an uproariously funny book and an excellent read before turning the lights out for the night.
