Ellen of 15 and Meowing blog and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader have given us four more sentences to fill in.

1. Blind dates…ARE AWFUL. I DID HAVE A DATE WITH A MAJESTIC SEAL POINT CAT I WAS TOLD. HE TURNED OUT TO BE A RACCOON. I WAS NOT AMUSED.  IT’S A LONG STORY BUT HE TOOK ME TO THE NEAREST GARBAGE CAN FOR DINNER. *SHUDDERS*

2. NINE…. years ago, I….WAS HORRIFIED THAT THIS LITTLE STAGGERING PIECE OF FUR WAS GOING TO LIVE WITH ME.

3. I admire…SHOKO because,,,NO MATTER WHAT I SAID TO HER, SHE JUST KEPT TRYING TO GET ME TO PLAY.  ALL THE HISSING AND GROWLING DID NO GOOD AND EVENTUALLY, I MELTED.

4.  THE POUNDING HEAT… makes me think….HOW MUCH I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SNOW.                                                       Have a great fish day friends.

Kali signing off for Shoko and I.  Yep, Shoko is still at Camp.  It’s getting a bit too quiet around here.

The First Full Day Of Summer Starts Today

Remember my veggie garden when Nellie and I planted it…you too mom!                                                                        After everything was planted it looked like this:                                                                            You can’t even see the hills mom made.

Today the garden is slowly coming along.  It’s been cold and windy here.

This picture has Shoko playing Peek a Boo in the brussel Sprouts.  This was 2 weeks after everything was planted.  Not much change as the brussel Sprouts, corn and cauliflower were transplants.  The potatoes are coming up though.

Almost a month later this is the veggie garden.

The only thing that seems to be doing awesome is the potatoes.  We need some heat or everything will remain small.

Wishing for some heat to come our way.

Sunday Selfie With Shoko

It’s Sunday and hotter than stink here in north central BC.  We’ve been waiting for the heat and it’s finally here.  Dad is hauling the BBQ out of the shed and mom has made potato salad and Sweet and Sour 3 Bean Salad.  Glad they’re eating it.  The smell is bringing tears to my eyes.

Sunday means The Cat On My Head is hosting the Sunday Selfies blog hop.  Click on their name and visit our furry and furless friends.                                                                                 The at on my HeadI spread out on mom’s pillow and used our remote control to snap this selfie.

Shopping Around the World

Shopping Around the World

Shopping Around the World

This is the April edition of SATW started by Piglove and Fozziemum.  We needed to look for two items and the makings for a favourite dish.  We also were to talk about the cost of heating the house and the temperature.

I like a nice warm house….kitty cozy…as Shoko and Kali do.  Hubby sweats if its the way we like it so we have compromised at 70F (21C) during the day and 65F (18C) at night, when we’re in bed.  We are on the equal payment plan and the house is heated with natural gas.  Natural gas costs us $82 a month.  Two months ago the gas went from $69 to $82….a large jump.  Hydro, though not normally used to heat the house, is $62 on equal payment.

Random Item: Alcan Aluminum Foil (alcan) is an excellent brand in British Columbia.

Now for the favourite dish. I was just going to give you the ingredients and prices but decided to give you the recipe….its THAT good. I found this recipe in a magazine of Canadian Living/ May 2015, in the doctors office and decided to try it. I had the receptionist copy it out.  Instead of me ripping it out and denying everyone else the recipe as I’ve been known to do when I’m in a hurry.

Mediterranean Baked Peppers:

Halve and core 2 sweet peppers (red and orange or yellow…just for appearance); cut each half into thirds. In bowl, toss together peppers; 2tsp olive oil; 1 small clove garlic, thinly sliced; 1/2 tsp dried oregano; 1/4 tsp grated lemon zest. and pinch each of salt and pepper. Arrange in a 1 to 2 cup baking dish; sprinkle with 1/3 cup of crumbled or chopped feta cheese. Bake in 425 F oven until peppers are tender, about 20 minutes Sprinkle with 1 tblsp chopped fresh parsley and drizzle with 1 tsp lemon juice.

Makes 4 servings per serving….71 cal,3 grams protein, 5 grams fat and 5 grams carb.

This was delish and easy to make. Bell Peppers are a good source of Vit A and C.
