It’s lovely out here Tyebe. The sun is shining, the birds are just a chirping and the squirrels are chittering.
Could it be any nicer for the 1st day of November? I don’t know me’s never been here in November.
It’s Thankful Thursday and we are so thankful we’re not wading through snow and can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. Whip over to Brian’s Blog and read why your friends are thankful. Click the badge and you’re there.
Budd doesn’t seem to be on the same page as us Tyebe. I’m thankful to be inside playing with my Yeow! cigar.
Hot weather, walks on me’s leash and a cool supper is me’s idea of living life to the max. Treats too of course. On with why I’s here imposing on your life. It’s the end of the month and that’s time for Shopping Around the Worldwith Bacon.
June’s dish is something easy for the summer months. Easy Peasy is mom’s middle name. Her first name is Geezy. mol *hic*
Shoko, do you’s want to help me’s? No, you will do great. You’re growing up Tyebe so it’s time you introduced others to the thrill of mom’s meals. mol *gag me with a paw*
Our dish for today will be Greek Pasta Salad. It is basically a greek salad with pasta in it. Yep, everything smells fresh, mom. We’re ready to go. Yes sir, bow ties are al dente.
1 and 1/2cups pasta (rotini, bow ties, penne)
1/4 to 1/2 of a Long English Cucumber or a small English cucumber. Mom got a small long English cucumber from the greenhouse so no charge. 4 small tomatoes (Roma) or any kind. We are using Roma tomatoes as they were on sale.
These red guys were $2.97 for 4.
1/4 to1/2 of a green and red bell pepper.
The green pepper were sitting in the greenhouse and the red one mom bought at Real Canadian Superstore for $2.97. I’s thought the red pepper was more colourful than the green so me’s only showing the red.
Kalamata Olives, you’s choose the amount you want. $5.50 for a 100 ml. jar
1/2 cup of feta cheese, cubed
$7.48 for 100 grams.
1/4 cup of red onion or more if you’s really like onion. $1.20 each
DRESSING: Newman’s Own Greek with Feta Salad Dressing
$3.38 for 350 ml.
Cook pasta al dente according to package directions. Rinse under cold water.
Combine all chopped ingredients in a large bowl. Add dressing and toss.
Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving. Here is our Greek Pasta Salad all ready to refrigerate for 2 hours.
Enjoy me’s friends. Tyebe signing off till next time.
C’mon Kali, let’s blow this joint. Why? It’s nice and cozy in here. We need the fresh air blowing in our furs. The wind is terrible. I want to be warm. Ok, so it’s cold. How cold is it, Shoko? It’s so cold the snowman has rosy cheeks!
Do you remember the time mom was out shovelling off the deck and then came in to have a hot bath?
Boy, do I ever. MOL The hot water on her cold butt was not relaxing….she said it was so painful and she was fussing about. MOL. She learned to get herself a little wet with warm water before leaping into a hot tub. Experience is a great teacher.
You’re too young to remember mom with the old Taurus but she had trouble plugging the car in so dad got her a light that would turn on when the car was plugged in. You mean sorta like a plug-in for idiots? MOL…exactly.
Ohhh, what about the time Cow Kitty’s dad left his truck on the street and the snow plough came along and blocked him in. The snow was deep that year. It was so funny watching him dig his car out,,,he used words we can’t say…..at least when mom’s looking. MOL
C’mon sis let’s get some air….ok, lead on Shoko.
I’m going into a nice warm heat register. It’s too cold for me. Leave me some room on that warm heat register….I’ll just *sniff*, *sniff* this patch of dirt. Make room for moi….coming through. Much better….I feel like a princess again instead of a pioneer braving the elements. Not that again, Kali. Go to sleep.
What’s worse than snowing cats and dogs?
A: Hailing taxi cabs!
A lovely day today. The sun is playing across the sky but the wind is strong and quite fresh. A lovely day for a stroll.
November and we can actually walk on the sidewalks without slippin’ in the snow. Can life be any better than this? Look, our Alpine Willy Clematis is mixed up and there are a few blossoms. A blossom in November. Never seen this before.
Mom and I are headed to the nearest pet store. It’s a very windy day and the wind is making my coat stand up. Refreshing!!
♫ Rolling around in my auto wheels. My pink Fur-ari.♫
Mom was getting tired pushing against the wind. We stopped at the new industrial development and mom relaxed.
From Gateway we went into the pet store. No pictures here. They gave me some kitties treats. I was famished and grabbed onto one. Immediately I spit it out. Ewwww…it was gross. Don’t ever buy these mom….awful. Mom asked what they were. The clerk said those were freeze dried chicken livers. We won’t be getting those anytime soon.
Mom got a few Christmas presents and we were out of there.
I settled down after those yucky treats and we headed home. As we got closer to the house, mom and I heard some hammering and sawing coming from the garage. Dad was hard at work building something. What is it dad? It’s going to be a house for Cow Kitty so he can stay warm during the winter.
What if he doesn’t like it and won’t go near it….what will we do? Let’s try him with it first Shoko.
This is where the house will stay for the winter. Here comes Cow Kitty.
I think he likes it. So far so good. I can’t think of something for the door….we need warmth in the house but not to frighten Cow Kitty or make him feel trapped. Should we have clear plastic, a towel or something else. Please we would like your ideas of how to improve the house.
