Review of The Tabcat Tracking System

We don’t do reviews as a rule but we found Loc8tor to be ahead of the pack with innovative ideas for tracking lost items.  Click on their name to see more of their history.

SHOKO…..BLACK
MOM….. MAROON

The package arrived in the mail a couple of days ago and what struck mom right away was the weight and compactness of the parcel.  The entire box weighed a pound.

Inside the box is;

1 Tabcat Handset
2 Lightweight Homing Tags
2 Splashproof Cases
Mini Tool To Open Tag
My curiosity was piqued.

I made sure mom handled it with care and I examined the Tabcat personally.

Shoko has volunteered to wear the Tabcat disc on her collar to show us how it works.

The Splashproof case matches my eyes.

The disc is ideal because I’ve rolled outside in my garden to see if dirt gets into the mechanism and it doesn’t.

My thinking here is, we must wear the Tabcat disc everyday cause one never knows when one might get lost or where curiosity might take one.  So the disc should be able to stand up to everyday situations.

One thing that is making my fur itch is the possibility that the beeping may sound like a “clicker.”  I hate the “Clicker” with a passion that lies deep within me.  I hear a click and I leave the room as fast as my paws will carry me.  I don’t care if you have millions of treats with catnip on top…..I’m outta there!                                               Is the “Clicker” gone yet?

The sound is more of a beep than a click so I didn’t run away.  The range is 400 feet.

You can purchase the Tabcat at Amazon.com.  Simply click on Tabcat and be taken to the selection.

You can also purchase your monitor directly from the Tabcat Shop online.

The only suggestion that I have for Loc8tor is the button that starts the Tabcat on the right-hand side is in the identical location on the left-hand side for the sound.  So holding the Tabcat comfortably, one hand is on the start and the fingers are on the sound.  I would suggest making these buttons or one of them higher than the other for easier application.

We were not reimbursed in any way for this review.  Everything in this review is from Shoko and I, even the opinions are ours.  We enjoyed bringing this tracking device to your attention friends.

If you have any questions about the Tabcat and it’s functioning, put your questions in the comments and David Ansell from Tabcat will assist you with your inquiries.

A Cool Walk In The Lane

C’mon mom let’s go.  Do you have to put that big boot on?  You look odd but as long as you can get to the Lane. Mmmm…OK.

All right…we’re off in a cloud of nip and bones!

Yuck…it’s all yellow and bare out here.  Maybe there’s a mouse about.

Here mewssseeeyyy…come play with me.  We’ll have fun.

Guess they don’t believe me.  I can hear little pawsteps running away.

I’m coming mom…there are so many prey smells around.

Time to go home?  OK, let’s hit the dirt and come again tomorrow.

That was Saturday, my friends.  Sunday arrived with a surprise.

Snow!! Oh, no….hope it disappears.

My bowl of water was very cold.                                                   Fortunately, it’s The Cat On My Head’s selfie Sunday so I took the picture mom had me shoot yesterday and blended it in with all the other furries pictures.  Come see it at The Cat On My Head’s blog.  Simply click on the name and be swept along with the tide.

Friday Fill-Ins

Today is Ellen from 15 and Meowing and Annie from McGuffy’s Readers Friday Fill-Ins.  We are participating because we want to!  Besides these are fun, fun, fun.

SHOKO…..BLACK
KALI…..ORANGE

1. I would never be friends with someone who…. IS NEGATIVELY  JUDGEMENTAL WITH ANIMALS AND PEEPS.  THERE ARE SO MANY SWEET AND KIND FOLKS OUT THERE…WHO NEEDS PEEPS OR ANIMALS RAINING ON MY PARADE.  I’D RATHER BE ALONE.

2. I will never refuse…..A TREAT….YOU THOUGHT I WOULD?…NOT LIKELY.  I HAVE TO GET THE TREAT BEFORE SHOKO DOES…HEHE  WE BOTH LOVE CATNIP GREENIES

Some kitty said they were good for me….I don’t think so….they taste too good.

My turn Kali. K, take it away Shoks.

3. I have never been to…..THAILAND….OR ANYWHERE ELSE OTHER THAN THE VET’S PLACE AND HER PLACE STINKS! , but…..I’D RATHER GO TO THAILAND THAN TO THE VET’S. Cause the vets is the vets!  Thailand is where the Siamese originated.  Perhaps Kali and I can go on our Magic Carpet one day.

4. When it comes to…..LAZYING IN THE SUN, I …..THINK SUMMER HAS GOT ALL THE SEASONS BEAT.

Aww…summer dirt shine….mol.

We’re sending out special purrs and licks to our good friend Phoebe of 15 and Meowing as she is having a tough time eating right now.  Her mom and dad are feeding her every few hours with a syringe. Phoebe, you are being sent the POTP from us.  Please join us in sending Phoebe the POTP.

Have a great Fry Day my friends.

One Lovely Blog Award

lovely-blog2016

Do you realize Kali, that Bacon nominated us for One Lovely Blog Award.  Wasn’t that thoughtful?  Bacon is nosy and probably wants to find out more about us.  We’re nosy as heck so a little curiosity never killed the pig and is probably quite entertaining.  Thank you so much Bacon that was very thoughtful of you.

Now to accept this award, we must tell you 7 things about ourselves you may not know.  That’s going to be hard cause you know an awful lot about us.

1/ I have a boyfriend named Einstein that I met at Cat Scouts.  He is way younger than me.  I now have a nickname of Cougar Shoko.                                                                           einstinkissingshokorIsn’t he handsome?

2/  I haven’t caught a mouse in more than 2 years.  The little dudes slip right through my paws.                                                                     tulipssmCan you see the mouse in the dirt?  Neither could I so I gave up and came inside for a bite to eat.

3/  When I want mom to play chase and tag, I tap her on the arm.  She gets the message and before long we’re up and chasing each other through the house.

aaaselfie

4/ I prefer to dine at 6pm when the news is on and everybody is busy and out of the kitchen. Kali and I chow down on pate. Kali needs the pate because of her lack of teeth.
aakalishoksm

5/ I found a message on the shed…..”For a good time call Shoko at 1-800 *Im a babe*.” Dang that Cow Kitty!  I’ll get the little fart face for this.                                                                          111

6/  I get cold really quickly so I make myself a wee tent.                                        1212We have to move to a warmer climate, mom.

7/  I have a soft spot for Cow Kitty.  I don’t want him too close but if I don’t see him for a few days, I look for him.                                                                      1112   There you have it, our 7 tell all facts about us.

Getting Ready For The Growing Season

My stars…mom says its time to plant some transplants already.  It’s not even the 24th of May yet.  We usually plant on our Canadian national  holiday of the Queen’s birthday,  Not this queen, but Queen Victoria.  I don’t really know why we celebrate her cause this queen has a birthday too and she’s still going strong at 90.  I digress…the weather has been very warm here.  Mom’s thoughts have turned to planting time.  So everybody in the household has padded out to the garden and done some work.                                                                         avegygardenDad rototilled the soon to be planted veggie garden.  Mom will soon sit in the soil and plant the seeds.  I will help her by digging out the rows.  Kali will lie on the air mattress mom uses.

abeewater1The water in the saucer is for the kitties that wander over here and are thirsty after partaking of the Nip.  The stones in the saucer are places for the bees to have a drink.  I try not to grab any flies taking the water…I usually am busy with my watering chores and don’t see them.

akalideckKali is supervising the work dad and mom are doing but she doesn’t want to get her paws dirty.

Mom decided we needed a break so we took a walk in the Lane.

ashowalkI looked both ways before I stepped into the Lane.  There could be some weird kitty or, heaven forbid, a dog in the Lane.  All was clear.

Cow Kitty is that you here at the cwappy house?

ack1

It is you!  What a great place to lay, in the cool long grass.                                                      ackcloseup

Cow Kitty looks like we woke him.  MOL                                                                        ashcloseLet’s take Cow Kitty and go home Shoks…there is more to do in the backyard.  Ok, mom let’s go.  C’mon Cow Kitty, the dirt is calling us!

Have a messy but fun day my friends.                                                                  Kali and Shoks

Sunday Selfie With Kali

A beautiful Sunday,  Just the type of day one wants to get down and roll in the dirt.  Of course, a few sniffs and licks of Nip Supreme growing in the backyard doesn’t hurt to lessen my inhibitions.  This should be called Earth Day cause I can become one with the Earth and howl a little song to its beauty.  ♫ MEW MEW MMM OW  MOOOOOW MEW ♫  Thank You my friends…you give high praise indeed.  No, I just sung how I felt, I didn’t take any writing lessons.  MOL

The Cat on my Head is hosting the Sunday Selfies so just click on their name and see some anipals in Blogville.

Preparing For Shoko’s Gotcha Day

We are preparing for Shoko’s Gotcha Day on Monday the 15th. of June.  Shoko is off at Cat Scots talking with her friends about the trip to Rome and talking about visiting with Bailey the Boat Cat on his boat the Nocturne.  To tell you the truth, I was getting fed up listening to Einstein did this and Timmy did that.  For cats sake…shut up!  Sorry friends but that girl can talk.  You know us meezers, we’re known for our talkin’ and yet Shoks goes that extra step.  Anyway, back to the preparations….I know it seems early, but mom has all this catnip to prepare, and dry for the individual care packages, the kitties can take home.  The major work will be on the weekend when Shoko goes off to Cat Scouts to celebrate Flag Day.

Pretty sharp looking Scout!  Mom has picked lots of nip so it will be fresh nip in the recipes.  I inspected every bit of it for bugs and dirt.

We need room for our friends to play.  Some of our friends are huge and need the room to just spread out.

Lots of room to dig and dance

Dad is mowing the grass. and clipping the trim around the garden.  *yawn*….everybody’s busy so I can lay down for a couple of minutes.
