Warning In Purrsuit of Flavours

You look cold, Tyebe.  I am Shoks.  Crap!!  It’s snowing again.  When will this weather ever warm up.  It’s 14F out here.
C’mon inside and get warm, Tyebes. What are you doing ?  Rubbing my paws together for some warmth.  Let’s go sit in the oven.  mol…You really got chilled out there.  Speaking of the oven let’s let everyone know that In Purrsuit of Flavours theme for April will be “Youthful Yummies.”  These are the foods that really turned our cranks when we were kids.  Some kids made their own yummies after school.  Some moms made these foods for a treat for dinner.  We probably still like them cause they hold great memories.  The thrill of youth is a memory we will always carry with us.  In Purrsuit of Flavours wants your special recipes on Wednesday, April the 7th.

How come we didn’t talk with Da Phenny and Nelly about the theme.  Well, I did chat with Da Phenny and we decided on the theme idea.  Really, where was I?  You were  up on the neighbors’ roof.   Can you see in their window, Tyebes?  I can but I feel like a peeping tomcat so I try not to.  I’d drop my teeth if I saw some furry looking in the screen door at me.

I wrestled this t-towel to the ground but there’s nothing here….son of a salamander!

We are joining Sandee for our Wordy Wednesday. We’re headed over there to see her post for Wordless Wednesday On Comedy Plus Join us and click on the highlighted blog name or their badge.

Salad Season…Potato Salad

Shoko and I thought the month of June should be the kick off month for summer.  What says summer more than salads?  There are so many salads.  You have your potato, green, Greek. pasta……the list is almost endless.

Our choice was potato salad.  Potato salad is pretty easy to make and basic.  You can put a variety of things in the potato salad.  If, you read a recipe and don’t like what they added you can miss that item and it won’t make the potato salad taste like crap!                No one needs to see cut up potato and egg Tyebe.  Ya, we could show it when it’s all cut up.
It needs to be more up close and personal….c’mon….let me see small tasty ingredients

See how the red pepper gives the salad colour. I tell ya Tyebe at least 70% of the meal is presentation.  We just get our food plunked down in front of us.  Mom used to tell us all the good things about our meal while we were eating but dad just gives it to us.  We need red pepper in our tuna Fancy Feast.

2 big old potatoes

2 eggs

1 cup of grated cheddar cheese

1 stalk of celery

3 green onions

1/4 cup of Craisins

5 strips of cooked bacon

3 slices of dill pickle…chopped

1/4 C of chopped red pepper

1 tbsp of Bold and Spicy mustard. ( or to taste)

1/4 C mayo (or to taste)

1 1/4 tsp of thyme (to taste)

salt and pepper to taste.

sprinkle of sweet smoked paprika

Once you have the ingredients together chop the items small enough for  a good taste of everything in one chew.  Add thyme, salt and pepper.  In a small dish mix mayo and mustard, then add to the potato salad.  Smooth down potato salad and sprinkle with Sweet Smoked Paprika   If, you don’t care for something, toss it out and add what you like.  Have fun with it.

Our finished potato salad before mom and dad attack it.

Sunday Selfie with Budd

It’s Sunday Selfie day and today Budd has offered to pose and shoot.  Flit over to The Cat On My Head blog and view the furries and not so furries selfies.

Mom, you don’t use me anymore.  Shoks you are either sleeping or have your nose out of joint by something Budd or Tyebe did.  They are pests…actually Tyebe borders on just plain stupid.  What she thinks is funny just is not a bit amusing.  Like jumping on my head when I’m sound asleep and then yelling, “landslide.”

Ok, I’ll try to snap that button…..I cant reach….*click*…..dang, way too soon. “Kittens a go-go,

I look like crap.”

I’m way too close.  Let’s try this again.

Let see if I put my paw here…*click* No, no not now….quit it camera.

Much better. See how handsome I look in this picture.

Shoko is refusing to impart her philosophy with anyone.  She is in a snit.  So we’ll join her when she comes down from her high horse.  She’s texting Einstein about her problem.

Caturday Art with Budd

OK friends,  I’m runnin’ this post and will be the artsy model for Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s blog hop.  Simply click on her name or badge and you’ll be prowling over.

Tyebe’s cleaning her toenails cause she leaped on something in the garden and she got crap all over her paws.  Personally, I was disgusted!  How many times have I told that girl to sniff first and then attack.  She also lost her collar. Mom tries  to make sure we look halfway decent when we go out and if we wander too far then someone can look at the tag and call mom.
One day she’s going to leap on a bee and then she’ll learn but it’ll hurt like a needle at the vet’s. She just closes her ears and does what feels good.

Here I relax while Tyebe cleans like a crazy kitty.
This is a most comfortable mattress. Much better than the hard floor.

Now here I am all jazzed up.
Mom used Lunapic Floating Effect. She used 75% strength.  I’m lookin’ a little whimpy in pastel colours but it’s a cool picture.

Right, Shoko is here for another installment of Meezer Philosophy.  These are different but oh so true.  Just think about it.

Have a super long weekend and enjoy Canada Day and Independence Day in the USA.

Friday Friendly Fill Ins

This is Friday friendly Fill ins week 4 and we decided to join up and fill in since we hadn’t been aware it existed.  We have been wrapped up in planting between snow, rain and hail showers.  This year gardening is not for sissies.  Anyway, on with our fill ins hosted by 15 and Meowing and McGuffy’s Reader and told by Kali.

1. The best money I ever (had mom)  spend was for my hysterectomy as I have absolutely NO motherly  instinct towards those dumb bundles of sharp teeth and claws, and the worst was for the mechanical mouse that scares the crap out of me when it runs at me gnashing its teeth.

2. My most memorable vacation was with mom and my late sister Keeko at the Fraser River here in Prince George.  We walked along the rocky beach and saw trees felled by the beavers, their homes, dams made by them and 3 beavers swimming in the river right close to us.

3. It makes me happy when the oregano starts growing again and I can roll in it.

aoregano 4.Once, I went for a walk and when I came back there was a little black eared and black smudge faced kit in my house and she stayed.  She’s going to have her 8th birthday soon and she’s still here.
