A November To Remember

A lovely day today.  The sun is playing across the sky but the wind is strong and quite fresh.  A lovely day for a stroll.

November and we can actually walk on the sidewalks without slippin’ in the snow.  Can life be any better than this?  Look, our Alpine Willy Clematis is mixed up and there are a few blossoms.                                                                  aaalpwilcrzmA blossom in November. Never seen this before.

Mom and I are headed to the nearest pet store.  It’s a very windy day and the wind is making my coat stand up.  Refreshing!!

aakalistroll♫ Rolling around in my auto wheels.  My pink Fur-ari.♫

Mom was getting tired pushing against the wind.  We stopped at the new industrial development and mom relaxed.

aakalismstFrom Gateway we went into the pet store.  No pictures here.  They gave me some kitties treats.  I was famished and grabbed onto one.  Immediately I spit it out.  Ewwww…it was gross.  Don’t ever buy these mom….awful.  Mom asked what they were.  The clerk said those were freeze dried chicken livers.  We won’t be getting those anytime soon.

Mom got a few Christmas presents and we were out of there.

I settled down after those yucky treats and we headed home.  As we got closer to the house, mom and I heard some hammering and sawing coming from the garage.  Dad was hard at work building something.                                                                        aackhome1What is it dad?  It’s going to be a house for Cow Kitty so he can stay warm during the winter.

What if he doesn’t like it and won’t go near it….what will we do?  Let’s try him with it first Shoko.

aackhousecrThis is where the house will stay for the winter.  Here comes Cow Kitty.                                                             aackhousezm

I think he likes it.                                                                            aackhomeSo far so good.  I can’t think of something for the door….we need warmth in the house but not to frighten Cow Kitty or make him feel trapped.  Should we have clear plastic, a towel or something else.  Please we would like your ideas of how to improve the house.

Busy day today.

May your boyfriend never hiss and tell.

Hangin’ In Da Hood

We are chillaxin’ around the backyard today.  Several new cats have moved into the neighbourhood along with new neighbours for mom and dad.  The good news is the Woofies that barked like idiots on a stick whenever Kali and I walked down the Lane, moved away.                                                                ablack catkaKali greeted the black cat that lives in the house behind us.  There is a young black cat that lives, we think, in the same house.  The young’un’ is about 5 or 6 months and altogether too delighted to see us.  We need our personal space and this young’un’ hasn’t heard of boundaries yet.                                                                  ajunoThis lovely creature is our new next door neighbour, Juno.  She sits and watches  Kali and I on the deck.  She tends to be a tad rude staring at us but I guess she’s not used to such happy and pretty dudettes living next door,

ajunodone Juno did pop round and say hi to us while her parents were having a BBQ with mom and dad.

Of course Cow Kitty is still here and I play with him a bit more.  Cow kitty chases me and I can be seen as a seal colored blur headed toward the nip and from Cow Kitty.  I used to run to the sliding glass door with a puffy tail…that’s when he used to scare me, not anymore.                                                                    ackdomeEvery morning Cow Kitty has a play fight with the pea netting.  We know he’s playing and not stuck because he stops playing and has a tinkle, then goes back to fighting with the netting.

This is my intense look.

May Good Luck find you around every corner.     Isn’t Good Luck a Woofie, Shoko? Shhhh….just smile real pretty like, Kali. Please take Good Luck home with you.

Warming To a Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

You ready for this Kali?  Well, no!  Look at all the snow out there and mom wants us to try on a bikini?  What’s her problem? *lick* *lick*…maybe she doesn’t have enough to do.  I haven’t been throwing kitty litter all over the bathroom for awhile.   Have you barfed lately Kali?  Gosh no Shoks…..you think we should start acting up. *lickity*  The foods been pretty high class lately and if you start barfing mom may just put both of us on your Hypoallergenic Soy HP.  We don’t want that stuff all the time so no you can keep your food down Kali.                                                                       kashlick

We’ll humour mom for the time being.  Getting in the bottom of this bikini is not comfortable Kali.  Suck it in Shoks…MOL                                                             bishcrCwap!  Mom had to let the bikini bottom out so I could fit it Kali.  I’m embarrassed. I was always so skinny and now mom made it sound like I was from Blimpsville.  Look she’s making the bikini bottom smaller for you Kali!  Let’s see if you fit in the bottom.  I guess the top is the “bik” and the bottom is the “ini.”                                                                  bikkazmBeautiful Kali.  I’ll bet your beau Buddy Bud will love this picture.

Do you know while we’re in here posing for winter bikini shots, Cow Kitty is in playin’ with our toys.  I’m trying to pretend I don’t smell the little devil.  Then we don’t have to bother hissing and getting ourselves upset.                                                        ck1
Cow Kitty was quite content to spend a couple of hours playing and snooping round the house. Then he staggered through the snow to his place.                                                          Kali and Shoks

A Walk Through The Garden In July

This is a lovely summer’s day.  The temperature is not sweating us out of the house.  The rains have come and gone.  This means no more restrictions on watering with sprinklers.

Come let’s walk through the backyard and view the plants. The first plants we come across are the herbs.  Mom has dried lots of them and is looking to make herbed vinegar and oil.  I told her she doesn’t have the time but she insisted in that way peeps can.

DSCN3642You see the tall herb right in the middle of the barrel….well, that is tarragon and mom is going to put it in wine vinegar.  I wonder if the wine vinegar will taste yucky after she finishes with it.

We are headed to the veggie garden next.  I have fertilized and watered everyday.  Also I have mixed the soil so that bugs don’t have a chance to set up housekeeping.

You will notice in the first row there is cauliflower, 3 of them to be exact.  There are a couple of beets and a few carrots.  I got to aerating the soil and couldn’t help myself and did a witches dance.  The results are only 2 beets remain in that row and there are very few carrots this year.  However, mom got all carried away with the beets and chard in the second row….making up for my boo boo in the first row.  The 3rd. row is all corn and doing very well from all that hot weather we had.  The two last rows are beans and peas.  Notice the sunflowers mom grew from seed.

Come over here my friend and see part of the flower garden.

Right in the middle of the picture are the lavender coloured phlox.  The aroma from the phlox is divine, so mom says….I think it stinks myself.  Beside the phlox, is the new rose mom got as a remembrance of her mom.  Behind the phlox and rose and well protected are 2 huge tomato plants.  Moving to the left, there is the pink hydrangea.  Mom added a chemical compound to the soil to turn the soil more acidy, thereby giving us blue flowers instead of pink.  It didn’t work mom.  There is another big tomato plant behind the hydrangea.  The tomatoes have lots of fruit but they’re not red yet.

Let’s step into the greenhouse for a few moments and see how the crops are doing in there.                                                     You are looking at the 3  pepper plants we got from small transplants.  All 3 have peppers on them.  The one pepper to the right is an Hungarian Sweet Pepper Plant.   Mom thought because of its shape the peppers would be hot and she figures she’s hot enough and doesn’t need those to help her.  Aw mom I didn’t mean to embarrass you!  MOL   You can see the leeks just in front of the peppers and the celery is to the far left.  To the far right and out of sight is the Spaghetti Squash.  Mom has pollinated the squash but no big ones are on the way yet.

Let’s mosey (mousey) back to the deck.

Look who stopped by for a visit, the cow kitten neighbour from next door. He sure is growing.

Ack!  Don’t run at me like that!  Now I need a piddle pad from Dezi of Dezi World’s powder room.  Geesh.  This is not how to make friends!

What’s happening out her Shoko?  Look for yourself Kali, its our neighbour again.                                                         What’s he doing Shoko?  I don’t know….maybe, no it can’t be….biting his tail?  Really?

MOL, Look at his reaction after biting his tail Kali.  MOL.  What a funny guy.

Sunday Selfie and the Sun

Another beautiful day in the sun.  It was suppose to rain but no, just more sun.  The wind has gotten up so it feels cooler.  Mom replaced some Lobelia that was sun damaged with bright pink Snapdragons.

Dad brought our pool out from behind the shed.

Mom didn’t want to fill the pool up the way we like…..to the top, because the cow kitten next door might drown.

C’mon mom this is a real stretch for a sip of water!  Anyway Kali helped focus the camera and I had it on timer….voila….a selfie….sort of. MOL

Wednesday Purrs

It’s still hot here friends.  There doesn’t seem to be a break in sight.  If, we do anything, it has to be in the morning when the weather is reasonable.                                                            DSCN3494Here is Kali and I going for a morning walk in the lane with mom.  You can see in this picture that Kali has lost weight.                                                                              Then onto some fun with ice cubes and a few drinky poohs.  The ice cubes look like meece…sorry mice.  I can pretend anyway.

To finish off the morning, guess who showed up?                                        Yep, the little cow from next door!  All 3 of us sat and had a staring contest then he went home.  I think he knows who’s boss around here.

In the afternoon Kali and I just flopped around….it was so hot!  We lay sprawled out and aired our private parts.  There are no pictures  as this would be terribly embarrassing and Kali says ladies do not flaunt themselves.  She would just die if Buddy saw her like that and I really don’t want Einstein to think I’m a loose kitty.

Introoder Alert

Kali, quick….there’s an introoder comin’ this way.  I saw this guy hiding in the Sweet William and then the Balloon Flowers.                                                                          He has the colouring of a cow!  I never saw this colour before Kali.

I’m headed inside then.  You can protect us Shoko.  Kali, he could be a terrorist…don’t worry I’ll protect you from this….this…terrorist cow!
