What a wonderful Crisp Mouse. We are so lucky to have such great friends. Mom and dad were excellent at interpreting our signals for what we craved the most of all.
Christmas morning found us all ready to dive into the prezzies whether they were ours or not. Dad kyboshed that idea smartly and gave us our first present each. We looked so organized and well…. you know, Dudley do right. Then mom said oh what did Shoko get from her Secret Santa?….. and I was there like a shot.
Turns out my Secret Santa was Pete Hartley, Co-Patrol Leader of The ThunderCats Den in Cat Scouts. He sent us a gorgeous feather wand….I’ve never seen so many feathers all in one place. Thank you Pete H. I love it. Here is Kali digging into some nip from the Rockies. This was sent by mom’s brother and wife and their kitties. Uncle John lives right smack dab in the mountains and the soil produces thee BESTEST nip EVER. Thanks Uncle and Aunty. Mom decided to open one of her presents also. Hurry up….I’m dying to know what it is. Carol Burnett dvd’s…um well, that’s nice. You can take them for your IV Treatments, put earplugs in, and sit there and laugh. Peeps will think you’re nuts! hahaha This is our box from Einstein and Buddy Of Timmy’s Commentary and family. You know, I’ve never seen a roll of dehydrated chicky boobs in my WHOLE life but these guys found one and sent it to us. We’re fixed for chicky boobs for a year. Wow. We each got a personalized card from our honeys, a crinkle ball…I never saw one of those either, some nip, a kicker and so many things from these wonderful mancats. Notice the black kicker Bacon from Piglove sent us. It’s unbelievable. You can’t realy see the Friskies in a box shaped like a cat head from Easy but they’re in mom’s mess.
This is for ME? I like it…..chicky boobs galore.
Mom, Kali and I thank all the furfriends that sent Christmas Cards and we have attempted to make a slide show….don’t laugh….we tried.
What a fun and filling day. The turkey was scrumptious.
Dad was looking around the internet and saw an interactive toy for us. He wasn’t sure if we’d bother with it….I guess we have a reputation as picky so he just did the basics to see if there would be any interest.
We have no name for this toy but here is a picture of the toy. Note the toy has brown paper because it is the finished product unlike what you will see in the other pictures. This is easy to make. You will need a small box, 6 plastic cups. tape and the scissors to cut holes for the plastic cups. Inside you will want to put some treats.
Our box wouldn’t close so dad needed tape to close it up. He carved out the 6 holes and put the plastic cups with 2 beef temptations in each cup.
The first to test the effectiveness of this toy was Kali.
Kali was not impressed and wandered away.
Elfin John wanted to see what the fuss was about. There was no nip in the plastic cup and Elfin John soon lost interest.
The last one to try it was me. I was not particularly impressed at first glance.
Then I started to poke about. Hey, this thing makes noise and it smells like beef.
Note: with more feverish activity, the cups turn this way and that…perhaps if dad glued them to the floor…mmmm…just sayin’.
Yes, this will do nicely, thank you dad….. I love the smell of beef in my cups. MOL
Well, it seems like this is the year of the apple. Lawrence, the nice fellow from my favourite hang out….the junky vehicle house, has given mom and dad 10 pounds of apples from his two trees. Apparently the small ones are very sweet and crunchy.
Dad got busy and made an apple pie and apple tarts from scratch.
Looks beautiful. Mom says the tarts are delicious. They have yet to start on the pie.
Not to be out done mom decided to make a chicken pie. Nobody gave her a stewing fowl but she found one basking in the freezer. No pictures of the fowl either. But there is a picture of the pie.
This is the pie without the top crust. All pastry was NOT homemade but rather taken from a box. It’s easy to tell mom tried but failed miserably to make this pie look like it was professionally made. Apparently it tastes good. It looks atrocious but at least the flavour is there.
What were we doing while the bake off was going on?
Sorry, the picture is fuzzy but Kali was moving and mom doesn’t have an action camera but you get the idea.
It also happened to be the second snow fall of the season. We missed the first snowfall. Guess we slept through it but it looks the same the second time around.
It was cold so we all were entertaining ourselves. So, go do your thing and then just say, What do you expect when we’re bored!” MOL
What a cwappy day. It’s pouring…..apparently the end of some hurricane decided to come all this way inland and grace us with its rain. The wind is ahowlin’ and the leaves are blowing everywhere. I’m not impressed! Furthermore it looks like my friends Penelope and her bro Pippin’ have had a horrible accident in the basement and may not be up to playing with us this year. I won’t go into detail but its not a pretty sight apparently. Mom won’t tell me anymore than that. Remember these cheery faces. My friends Penelope and Pippin’.
We had such fun together. Well what’s a kitty to do!
Kali had to go to the vet’s today too. She didn’t want to go and told mom why but mom had her ears turned off. Before I knew it they were back again. I guess I must’ve fallen asleep. Kali was very happy to get out of the carrier and disappeared before I completely woke up. Kali has arthritis with some wasting around her hips. The pain giver recommended fish oil and if there is no difference a capsule for arthritis will be appropriate. Mom said it was remarkable but Kali who usually sheds all fur hanging about, so it looks like a fog has descended upon the room, didn’t shed 1 hair. One great thing that happened today was mom got her Cat Lady box and we both helped her look inside. We exhausted ourselves with the box and are ready for a snooze.
Kali is delighted its Artsy, Fartsy Caturday on Athena and Marie’s blog tomorrow and she gets to pose. Simply click on the name of the hosting blog and enjoy the anipals in their artsy forms.
Have a great weekend my friends and if you get a chance drop into Cat Scouts on Saturday as I will be celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving. I will probably celebrate off and on for the whole long weekend.
Here it is a beautiful Sunday morning….just about noon here so I must hustle my butt. Dad brought home a box and I claimed it right away. It’s a gorgeous box, no dents or rips. I sit on the deck and pretend the box is my boat and we’re off to see many sights. Like Long John Silver.
You see on the side of the box…peaches. My first family, where my bio mom and dad live, they called me peaches. So it is definitely my box. Oh my!! Long John Silver looks very mean. To quote Shoko, ” Oh Cwap!!”
