Black Cats Unite, Black Is Beautiful!

aakstalkfHave you heard about this book on black cats Kali?  It’s edited by Layla Morgan Wilde of Cat Wisdom 101 The title of the book is Black Cats: True Tales by 22 Amazing Cats.  Layla  has 30 days to raise $15,000.  The campaign ends on July 14th. So there are just a few days left to achieve their goal.  If, you can help the cause please donate.  If you can’t afford to help, then pop over to Cat Wisdom 101 and offer Layla your support by leaving her a comment.  What a good-hearted gal she is.black cats

Have you known any black cats, Kali.  I mean like good friends with a black cat.  I sure have Shoks.  In the old house just after I moved in with mom and dad I wandered across our street and met our neighbour.  His name was Gauge and he was as black as your face Shoko.  We struck up a friendship and I would lie with him under the apple tree on his front lawn.  One day as we were playing around, I laid on my tummy.  I had a fair bit of kitten flab left on my bod and was what one may call, “Chunky.”  I would be horrified if one called me *chunky* to my face.  Anyway as I lay on the lawn Gauge danced around me and rolled me across the lawn.  There was a slight incline on the lawn and pointed in the right direction, I would roll down.  Each day was good for a roll from Gauge till we both grew up and I was a little heavy for him to roll.  Still we would sit on my front porch or under his apple tree.                                                  akitkalHe sounds like a cool dude, Kali.  Is he still living there?   Mom and dad went to visit Gauge’s dad in the hospital a few weeks ago.   Gauge’s dad was losing his battle with cancer.  Gauge’s dad passed two weeks ago.  Mom and dad were upset and wondered what would happen with Gauge.  It turned out that Gauge was provided for in his dad’s will.  Gauge and his dad’s best friend had a special relationship and Gauge has gone to live with him on a farm just outside Prince George.  *sniff*, *sniff*, *wipes a tear from her eye*.  Geez Kali, that is so sad.  Part of it is sad but can you imagine the love that Gauge’s dad had for Gauge, to actually have a legal will drawn up to include Gauge!

Now, that’s true love, Kali.   If everyone could see black cats in the same light as we do, there would be no problem.  Layla’s book on black cats will certainly help their plight.                                                                                  Kali and Shoks

Hangin’ In Da Hood

We are chillaxin’ around the backyard today.  Several new cats have moved into the neighbourhood along with new neighbours for mom and dad.  The good news is the Woofies that barked like idiots on a stick whenever Kali and I walked down the Lane, moved away.                                                                ablack catkaKali greeted the black cat that lives in the house behind us.  There is a young black cat that lives, we think, in the same house.  The young’un’ is about 5 or 6 months and altogether too delighted to see us.  We need our personal space and this young’un’ hasn’t heard of boundaries yet.                                                                  ajunoThis lovely creature is our new next door neighbour, Juno.  She sits and watches  Kali and I on the deck.  She tends to be a tad rude staring at us but I guess she’s not used to such happy and pretty dudettes living next door,

ajunodone Juno did pop round and say hi to us while her parents were having a BBQ with mom and dad.

Of course Cow Kitty is still here and I play with him a bit more.  Cow kitty chases me and I can be seen as a seal colored blur headed toward the nip and from Cow Kitty.  I used to run to the sliding glass door with a puffy tail…that’s when he used to scare me, not anymore.                                                                    ackdomeEvery morning Cow Kitty has a play fight with the pea netting.  We know he’s playing and not stuck because he stops playing and has a tinkle, then goes back to fighting with the netting.

This is my intense look.

May Good Luck find you around every corner.     Isn’t Good Luck a Woofie, Shoko? Shhhh….just smile real pretty like, Kali. Please take Good Luck home with you.
