Let’s Take a Walk Through Friday

We got up and had a hearty play with mom.  It’s fall and so our tunnel came out of hibernation.                                                 Kali was all eyes, to see what we were doing.                                                                     Chip has been trying to get the little pebble to open up and tell us her name.  She really wanted to get back into the oregano so Chip and mom decided it was ok.  It might get her to talk.                                                                        This oregano is very good.  You spoke!  What is your name?  My name is Sky.  Sky?   Yes, mommy and daddy were kinda like rolling stone rocks.  Daddy’s name was 8-ball and he was always behind in well, everything.  He was so loveable though.  Noone could get angry with him.  Where is your mommy?  Sky  screws up her pebble face.  Never mind, if talking about her upsets you.  Where is your daddy?  He moved on to find his fortune elsewhere?  You don’t sound like you’re angry with him.  Mom told me that he probably would leave so I was prepared.  They chattered on for a bit and then Sky went off to sleep.

Cow-Kitty has been absent for about 3 days.  Well today he honoured us with his presence.

Dad called Felix and this is the shot he got.  Felix was trying to get away…fast.                                                              Dad changed his tactics and called him Cow-Kitty and this happened.

Then Cow-Kitty decided to enjoy a snooze on Shokali Island.

Sunday Selfie and more

What a yucky day….nothing but rain, rain and then more rain.

It’s just as well Shoko is off at the Cat Scout carnival today or she’d be wanting to play, “chase and bite butt.”  I really don’t like that game but Shoko insists we should play it on rainy days.

In the past look at the toys I have been trying to entice Shoko with.  She finally got all soft and kissed me instead.

Shoko didn’t want me to say anything to you but yesterday mom was so angry with Shoko that I thought mom would burst!  It was a beautiful day here yesterday so mom opened the screen door to the deck, so Shoko and I could go in and out at will.  There are no mosquitos or many flies so she thought it was safe.  Mom was busy blanching some beans for freezing and Shoko came rushing in and headed straight for her condo,  Mom saw Shoko throwing something in the air so went over to investigate.  There lay a small bird, its heart just apounding.  Mom hollered,”NO, NO, NO…get away!” several times.  Mom doesn’t say no often so Shoko listened as mom picked up the little bird.

She put the wee one on a small dish and walked out on the deck.  The bird quickly flew away.  Mom breathed a deep sigh of relief.                                                                        This bird is an Immature Ground Finch and looks just like the bird Shoko had but it wasn’t as fat as this bird.  Now, Shoko doesn’t jump for a bird so this bird must have been running around on the ground.  This is also Shoko’s first bird….it took her 7 years to find one on the ground, I guess.

Now for my secret about Shoko.  Shoko is afraid of the Cat’s Meow.  You know, that fun toy.                                                                              Mom brought it out of the cupboard where it was out of Shoko’s view.  I was excited…..this is me being excited!  MOL

Mom put the Cat’s meow in the living room for a week without turning it on.  Shoko was sniffing it and sitting beside it.  It was time to turn it on.                                                                        Where’s Shoko?  She’s behind the chesterfield poking her head out to watch it. MOL  This is the big fierce hunter we’re talking about here!

Now, on to our Sunday Selfie.  The Cat on My Head has a blog hop for all us anipals.  Just hit the blog name and you’ll find yourself viewing other  selfies.                                                                          I love my box and nobody tries to take it away from me.

Results of the Polls

Welcome to Fort Meezer in Da Hood my friends.  Shoko’s idea  of a name for the area around the backyard got a 47%  vote.  So look for Shoko to start sprucing up the area soon…right Shoko?  Right Kali but hey, you gotta help too.  Ah, I’m going to be more concerned with the backyard and grounds.  This area by a vote of 46.7% is now called The Garden of Purrthley Delights.  This delicious idea was CK’s of Stunning Keisha.  Now, the greenhouse is like a world unto itself and Kali and I have decided to call it Shokali Island.  When you walk into the greenhouse you are on a tropical island.  The idea was Easy’s of Easy’s Blog.  These are fun and informative blogs, take a peek and see.

These are the bounties from Shokali Island.                                                          Peppers are ready for eating as are the leeks.                                          Spaghetti squash are ripe for the picking.  Mom’s never cooked these kind of squash so dad’s in for a big surprise!

Guess who, grabbing some shut eye,

Onto mom’s meeting with Cow-Kitty’s dad.  Mom said he was a very nice man.  She asked if Cow-Kitty was a girl or boy.  Darnell said they weren’t sure.  They suspect she is a SHE.  Her name is Felix…..ok?  Mom never said what a weird name for a she cat but held her tongue.  Mom told him about Kali getting very angry at Felix and she suspects its because Felix is growing up and has a different smell.  Mom asked how old Cow Kitty was and Darnell said a couple of months.  Mom corrected him and said at least 4 or 5 months.  It is time to think about getting him neutered.  Darnell agreed he should be neutered.  Mom asked if he wanted to keep Cow-Kitty and he said his young daughter adored Cow-Kitty…even Darnell was calling Felix, Cow-Kitty.  Right then mom knew she could never take a kitty away from a young girl.  Mom told Darnell, who is out of work, that if they needed some assistance getting Cow-Kitty neutered that she would pay half.  Darnell was thrilled mom offered to help.

There you have it friends.  Cow-kitty’s sex is undetermined.  His/her name is Felix and is not free for the taking Ellen.
