Hello All
Dad here, some of you have heard that Jean (Mom)is in the hospital, and she still is.
It all started Saturday morning when Jean woke me up with her moaning, I thought it was kind of rude of her to wake me up that way until I went into her room to see her. She had her eyes open but was not responsive at all to me. At this point, I called 911 and got an ambulance underway, when I went to unlock the front door, I heard a thump from the bedroom, when I got to the bedroom, Jean had got out of bed to go to the washroom and fell. More on this later.
The ambulance came and took Jean off to the hospital. When I got to the hospital they said Jean had Pneumonia and they suspected that this was what caused her to be in a reduced level of consciousness, and the also found her pulse rate to high at over 100 beats a minute. Normal is about 80. so they have kept her in the hospital to get her heart rate down. When I saw her this morning her heart rate was for the most part under 100, that is a good sign.
Yesterday they did a CT Scan to see if she may have had a stroke, what they found was that she dislocated her left shoulder and broke her upper arm and some ribs (fortunately these ribs are high on her chest and don’t move much). The Orthopedic surgeon who saw her said that if it heals well she should be fine, if not she will need a shoulder replacement. When the Surgeon asked who did the surgery on her ankle, Jean told him, his response was “I’m better looking!”
This what Ann Adamus of zoolatry@gmail.com sent Jean and we really appreciate her thoughts and talents.
Jean, myself, Shoko, Tyebe & Budd appreciate all the POTP messages and well wishes.
Bill Neilson

Mom prays for Jean everyday, and we kitties are now adding POTP and purrs. We are saddened to hear about the broken and dislocated bones. When they get the pneumonia and heart rate under control, we sure hope those injuries don’t keep her from getting home to all of you. Cooper Murphy (Gingersnap) is sending ❣️ to Tyebe. Love and hugs to all, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer and Mom Janet 🙏🏻

Oh my word, poor Jean – and you too, Bill, as it must be so very worrying for you both. We here in Upper Much-Mousing (Mrs H and I) send you lots of healing prayers and purrs that all will heal up nice and quick once the op is over and that naughty pneumonia (Mrs H typed that for me) will be gone before Christmouse time.
All the best to you both ERin XXX

Oh Noo! So short before Christmas, and when she has had an already stressful year! The good news is: Pneumonia can be treated with antibiotics. It then takes a little time for them to work. Unless someone is already very weak, she should be fine on that front.
The broken bones are a far, far worse sign as those take more time and healing bones is more complicated when people get older!
All the best wishes for a rapid improvement from Germany.

Thanks so much for the full update Bill….all of us who love Jean have been so worried and concerned…..you two have endured so much and nothing would make us happier than if Jean heals quickly and doesn’t require more surgery. Obviously she will be a while in coming back home but I know she (and all of you) hope that it’s SOONER than “a while” !! Sending tons of POTP and of course prayers. We know you have your hands full – updates are SO appreciated….
Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
