Selfie Sunday with Shoko

I have spent over a week inside because some dirty alleycat bit me on the side.  The wound got infected and I had to go to the vet.  I was very unhappy and sore.  The worst thing was, and get this, I had to stay inside for over a week while my wound mended.  Well, I was beyond ticked!  I mewed and mewed….nothing.  I cried….nothing.  I hissed and growled at everyone…….nothing.  In fact, everyone seemed to ignore me cause I was being nasty.  The vet gave me a clean bill of health Thursday and I was allowed out yesterday.  I was so happy I didn’t go home for 6 hours.  When I did I was as hungry as a bear after hibernation.  Thank goodness life is back to normal.
The Cat On My Head is having a selfie Sunday and this is my entry. To see more anipals click on the blog name and you’ll arrive at the selfie place in seconds.

Tyebe and I had a little fun earlier in the day.
Tyebe stole the treats out of the kitchen and dragged them into the living room to share with me.  She’s turning out to be a pretty good little friend.

I may have encouraged her a wee bit. mol  Point is, we enjoyed some salmon treats together while mom wandered around wondering where the treats went.

Have a mighty fine Sunday friends.

Really, I never thought life could be this rough. A bit, a sister that wants to play ALL the time. A home invaded by her smell, it’s terrible I tell ya. There’s not a moment’s peace. Hope she grows up soon.

Ms Shoko…I am sad that you got bitten. Cat bites are dangerous! I am glad that you are now allowed back out. Kozmo has been staying out all night…Dad is a little angry with him and yelled at him (a little) …so last night he (Kozmo) bright dad a dead mouse.
Tyebe brings you treats…I wonder if she is trying to make you less angry about beig stuck inside too!

What a super effort Kozmo made! He certainly tried to apologize to your dad with that dead mouse. Those are hard to catch…well when it was alive it was. mol
Tyebe tries to be fun but she doesn’t know when enough is enough and becomes a pest.

Always better safe than sorry with bites from unknown cats! Glad you back in tiptop shape and I bet those treats helped too. Sounds like you have been training Tyebe is coming along fine, just so long as she doesn’t progress to pinching YOUR treats and stuff, MOL

Tyebe figured this out herself. She’s no dummy. She is exhausting though. Just ask mom. Mom used to have trouble getting to sleep but now, if Tyebe isn’t jumping on her, she falls asleep when her head hits the pillow.

Tyebe is a wonderful sisfur. We have a cat or three who will grab the treat bag but never share. So glad you can go outside and enjoy the wild world. Stay away from nasty kitties on your adventures

Shoko, it’s awful that someone bit you and made you go to the vet. I’m glad you’re okay now. And how about that little Tyebe getting the treats and sharing them with you? What a good girl! 🙂

shoko: You better stay in your own yard and stop meddling with the riff-raff around town. Maybe Mom should build a higher fence, or maybe you should stay in the house!! Fighting and bites are terrible things! I’m so sorry you had such an unhappy week. Hope you are better now.

You’re so right cuss! They have some problems for sure. The guy that bit me was just passing through I guess. He’s not in the Lane anymore. He was a mean guy. I will be careful Dharth.

The treats did taste good. Tyebe was a great sister to do that as I stood watch for mom and dad. We usually have nice kitties in the Lane but i guess this hooligan was just passing through. Somebody must have peed on his nip that morning. mol

Oh Shoko, we are glad you learned your lesson abut mean bully cats. Be careful out there. But don’t be so afraid to meet a nice cat who was left behind and really belongs in a home. Even they can bite or scratch, but they do it out of fear and not aggressiveness. If you do meet a cat like that, try to tell your mommy so they can get rescued by an animal rescue organization if you can.

And Tyebe is trying so hard to be friends with you. She is your little sister now and even little human sisters can be a pain! But she will get older and you two will mesh better then. You may just end up missing her pouncing on you all the time.

I did bring home a male kitty about a year old. Mom and dad fed him until they realized he had no home so took him to the SPCA. Mom phoned everyday to see if anyone had adopted him. Within a week he had a new home. We were so happy for him.

Mom says the same thing… that when Tyebe is older she will be a friend. I can’t wait.

We are thrilled that he found a good home. We all know that just because a kitty is left on their own and they are scared and they act out, does not make them a bad kitty! Those kitties need all the help they can get and we peoples need to remember that these sweet little creatures do not deserve to be treated as bad. They are simply scared and need to be understood and loved.

We is so happy for you two and for the stray you rescued! My mommy had previous outdoor cats who would bring home their friends that needed a home and even sometimes their friends who had a good home but they just wanted to visit and see what types of foods my mommy gave kitties.

She has also brought home friendly strays that hung around her work. One that she rescued was a male Siamese. Very friendly and older. Didn’t have many teeth left. Mommy got him neutered and he got along with her other three cats ok while she kept him inside for a few weeks while he got used to his new surroundings. He never fought the others and was sweet as can be. She named him Guido (old Saturday Night Live – Father Guido Sarducci skits).

When he seemed like he was adjusted to our home, she let him out. All the cats were indoor/outdoor cats (except they had to come in at night!). Our neighbor across the street had 9 Siamese cats and Guido hung out mostly at their house. I told the neighbor that if she wanted to keep him it was ok because he seemed happier with his own kind.

She kept him for many years and I would walk our dog every day and call to him outside their house and he would always come and greet us. He had no fear of our dog and I think he lived with dogs before. I was happy I found a good home where he was happy. Nobody can tell me that breeds don’t recognize and bond with others of the same breed or coloring. I see it all the time between same breeds of dogs or coloring such as Tuxedo Cats or Tabbies.g

Good for you and your family. Not all strays are mean kitties, many are just lost and don’t know what to do. Just like you and me if we were just abandoned helplessly. We know you have good hearts. Did you ever find out what happened to Cow Kitty who used to live next door?

I never leave the Lane or the houses connected to the Lane. There is tons to do. My friends and I have a gab session and talk of the latest gossip. However, this mean cat slipped into the Lane and none of us knew him.

Tyebe and Sawyer sound as if they are related. He’s always getting into something. We are so happy she shared with you Shoko. We, and especially Mau, are so sorry about the bite. The man cat across the street cam over at two different times and bit Mau. We are so happy you got rid of the infection and are all healed. The meme at they end gave Mom a good chuckle. What was that bully kitty’s deal anyway?! Maybe he wasn’t having a good day and took his frustration out on you. But that’s no excuse. I hope he strolls over to apologize. That would be the gentlemanly thing to do. I’m sure glad your wound has healed. That is a stellar selfie! Head pets.
