Sunday Selfie with Shoko

I didn’t know it was Sunday Selfie time already!   If you click on the picture for The Cat On My Head, you will magically disappear and reappear at their blog hop.

Kali is watching the snow melt.  It’s raining here so the roads are a mess but I’ve been to the vet so I don’t care.  The snow will soon melt off the fence or everything will turn to ice.  What do you think will happen?  I kinda think the ice bit will win out.

I was watching mom cleanup…she seems slow but she gets er dun. MOL

Rain and more rain! It is supposed to get down to -19C by Wednesday so the rain will turn to snow. We have stairs all over the house for Kali and this is the first time I couldn’t avoid the stairs while doing a selfie.

Shoko, you always take a beautiful picture. “The camera likes you” is, I believe, the phrase. I can’t believe it’s warmed up that much in Canada. It is supposed to warm up a lot and be rainy here, too, starting tomorrow. Please stay off the roads if it turns to ice! ❤

Why thank you my friend. I must admit I take a better picture than mom does. She is not photogenic and the camera hates her. That’s why there are very few pictures of her floating around.

We can’t stay home cause there’s ice on the roads! We wouldn’t leave the house till Spring. Peeps up here are very used to winter driving and take her cool. Well, there is always a jacka– that has 4 wheel drive and figures he can drive better than anybody. He usually ends up in an accident or running off the road.

I grew up and lived many years in snowy/icy conditions. I just know that there is not much you can do when you hit ice when driving but pray.

Ice is tricky but usually turning the wheel helps….the idea of turning into the slide is scary but if you do and then get control of the wheel…you can move the car out of the slide. This is tricky but it does work. The other option is the foot on the brake. We were always told to stay away from the brake when sliding but this Toyota has the capability of stopping. It sounds and feels like the car is going to fall apart but it does stop.

I am glad you have it figured out. I do the turning into the skid in snow, but with ice I have always kept sliding. Maybe it is the newer vehicles… In any case, stay safe!

The rain does make a mess but every January we have rain. It will go away again and there will be more snow but the very cold weather can stay away. When the nose hairs freeze just stepping out the door…it’s time to stay home.

You look great Shoko! We had -21F last night, very cold. It is going to warm up this week to the 30’s though. XO

Good gravy….not -21F That is far too cold. Makes me think that if this was summer and we were sweltering in a heat wave, this cool weather would be welcomed…..maybe not quite so cool as all the plants would die. No, maybe this was a horrible idea. My veggies would be frozen. MOL

      Have a great week.

Ice is part of our weather. There is good ice and bad ice. The good ice is rough….much easier to walk on. The bad ice is smooth as glass and very difficult to maintain one’s balance. I hope for the first.

I agree totally! Ice is not good but the cold, cold weather is way worse. It was cold anywhere near the walls and the gas heat was always clicking on. It’s a wonder Kali didn’t set up housekeeping on the vent and remain there for the entire winter.

    Be careful friend.
