Samantha of Samanthamurdochblog nominated us for the  “The Shuffle The Music Tag” and we thank you, Samantha, for thinking of us.  Granted she nominated us in August and us lazy ones are just getting around to posting now.  Glad Samantha never held her breath waiting for our response.

We are sharing with you our playlist……actually its Kali’s playlist on the computer.  I turn the music on when Kali gets uptight with whatever pains she’s currently enduring.  Kali is very fond of all of these songs as she becomes mellow and relaxes.  Seeing these are her songs, she can guide us through them.  Take it away, Kali.

For “The Shuffle The Music Tag” just put whatever device you use to listen to your music on, and press the shuffle button, and write a little something about the first fifteen songs that come up, what they mean to you, their history, whatever takes your fancy.  We will be doing 10 songs.  Then nominate seven or more people to participate, obviously letting them know.

I use the computer and *I Tunes* so mom shuffled my music.

1/ The first song up is I Guess The Lord Must Be In New York City by Harry Nilsson.  This song has relaxing lyrics and the tempo is perfect for drying nail polish on my toes.  Granted occasionally I swing my paws over the side of my Princess Bed as the tune is so catchy.  All in all a soothing song.                                                           Sorry, the sun is blocking my paw but my nails are drying faster. mol

2/ Ferry Cross the Mersey by Gerry and the Pacemakers

This song is so relaxing that if I get upset, this song has me clapping my paws and mellowing with sleepy eyelids.  Mom was saying that these chaps played at many of the spots in England that the Beatles did.  Well, I’ll be a bug!

3/ Somewhere My Love…Lara’s Theme from Dr. Zhivago Al Martino

Mom thinks I like this song but it makes me feel so cold as the peeps struggled so hard in this movie.  It’s a great song for those hot summer days. Cools off the warmest of days.

4/ Everybody’s Talkin’ At Me by Harry Nilsson

Typical Harry Nilsson song with soothing sounds from a powerful voice.  This song was featured in Midnight Cowboy with Jon Voight.

5/ Gonna Get Drunk and Be Somebody by Toby Keith

Mew, mew….this song is great when I’m feeling down cause my paws are hurting so I feel very unimportant.  The upbeat sounds of this song make it so I can’t be down for long….I want to get up and investigate a drawer and try to find some nip.

6/ Digging up Bones by Randy Travis

This song reminds me of all my woofie friends and their favourite pass time.  It would be neat to bury one’s treats and come back later to retrieve them.  Unfortunately, I have this thing about dirt. I will not eat anything with dirt all over it.  It’s a very icky habit.  Shoko eats things she buries but not moi.

7/ The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot

A terrible plight for these sailors out on Lake Superior or Lake Gitchee Gumee  To me, this is not relaxing but Gordon Lightfoot has a great voice and mom likes the song.

8/ Canadian Girls by Dean Brody

This is a song just for us Canadian girls, Shoko, mom and me.  It makes me feel happy with its upbeat music.  I want to dance but Shoko’s a terrible dancer….always stepping on my paws.

She looks good but watch those spikes….they hurt like hell-o!

9/ Blue Canadian Rockies by Jim Reeves

This song drives me crazy!  I love this guy’s voice.  He makes the sun shine in my heart when he sings to me.  What a voice…..if only my Buddy could sing like him.*sigh*

Isn’t he somethin’? hehe.

10/  Moon River by Andy Williams

This is my very favourite song!  I could just float away on the words.  I can just picture Moon River as blue as can be without an insect or reptile in it.  Just cruising along the river in a paddlewheeler with  Buddy holding my paw. *Aha, sigh*  I know it’s supposed to be the Mississippi River and that’s so muddy that your shadow will have dirt on it…..forget all that just go with the sweet music and the illusion you get.

There you have it, friends.  My playlist and a hot one it is too.  I have more songs on it but this will give you an idea of my favourites.

We’re supposed to nominate 7 peeps/kitties for The Music Tag.  I am reluctant because I would like to hear everybody’s idea of good music.  Phenny of Easy Blog...oh Phenny, tell me your playlist, Bacon from Piglove….bring it on bud.  May I say that anyone else that wishes to do the playlist, please let us know so we can admire your songs.

MOM…..RED VIOLET
KALI…..ORANGE

WOW…..that’s quite a “TAG” there and certainly was a lot of work to put together – my Mom listens to music on the radio when she’s driving so doesn’t really have a “playlist”…..but I will say that she loves Andy Williams music as she grew up hearing it – he was one of her Dad’s FAVES.

You have most excellent taste in music, especially Moon River. I am going to be singing that all day now. My playlist would be boring, I still use a cd player and only play Sinatra except at Christmas. XO

I will have to listen to some of these – dont think I know any except Laras song and Moon River, which I love too. Do you ever listen to Josh Groban? I’m in love with his voice. And thank you for not nominating me, I don’t have a play list. And I don’t want to work that hard, LOL!

      Hi Ladies,

Most of the songs are American but then if you don’t listen to music very often, you wouldn’t know. I’m surprised you don’t have relaxing music girls…..it soothes the savage beast. That sure sounds like me. mol

Whoa! I promised Binky I’d do this ages ago! As you know, I’m DJCK and have over 10,000 songs loaded into our itunes. I think the only 2 we have in common is Ferry Cross the Mersey and Gordon Lightfoot. TW used to be cray cray over him before she went into her punk rock period that she never came out of. Dunno if you’d know any of our songs. Lately we’ve listened to Only Ones, Winter Hours, Talking Heads, Green Day, REM and Talking Heads.

Such a wide diversity of music we all have. My mommy goes from Roger Miller – King of the Road to The Rolling Stones to the Monkees (MOL) to Supertramp, Queen, Guns n Roses, etc.! Andy Williams brings back memories also of her parents record collection with a lot of great artists like Elvis and Bill Haley (Rock around the Clock). I guess she likes almost all music!

Lol! It’s all right…I didn’t hold my breath…!! Thank you for taking part, though, I do appreciate it! Some great choices too…”Lara’s Theme” is iconic, I love that film! Also, “Everybody’s Talkin…”fab song. When I think of Moon River, Audrey Hepburn always comes to mind, but you can’t beat the original! Thank you very much for taking part, great choices 😺💕 xxx
