Sparks, hosted by McGuffy’s Reader has us shining a light on our lives and producing a quote that shares a positive image of what we are searching for.
If you were faced with a challenge of walking a mile. As you walked you became so tired you could hardly put one foot in front of the other but your determination said you must finish even if you crawled to the finish line. How good is that person going to feel when he makes it?
Can you really appreciate shoes? How about if you walked a mile without them….do you think you would appreciate them more? Would your walk without shoes become a challenge and winning that challenge make you feel happy?
Each challenge we take brings us closer to our fellow men and women because we all face challenges every day. How we handle these challenges divides the wimps from the winners.
I hate wearing shoes and socks…foot prisons…but then I hate having cold feet too! I always feel sorry for the girls when they come in and their little leathery paw pads are cold…great post! 😺💕xxx
Some challenges are harder to overcome than others. Some….we can do nothing about. The trick is knowing the difference. Something mom is a little shaky on.
Overcoming challenges is indeed a wonderful feeling. Not giving up is essential and that’s what Sparks is all about I think. Being positive and making the changes so we are all better and kinder.
Oh, love how your revised header looks on the page! 🙂 And so funny to see Carl kitty psyching up to meet his impossible challenge. When I think of impossible challenges, I think about changing another person – like folks marry someone thinking they are going to change them. Better go chase the red dot.
Dat’s pawsum girls. Mommy says she’s had to walk many miles in her life, and she wasn’t a happy mommy at da end. Da purrverbial walks are another thing altogether tho’. MOL Big hugs
Wow, That is excellent! I cannot agree more! I totally believe this wonderful Spark! Thank you for being a part of Sparks. This really is what it is all about, dear friends. HUGS.
2 great Sparks! Mommy loved the first one…she has that on her rotating affirmations and I, Marvelous LOVED the one about the red dot!
I WILL catch it!

Carl can only catch that red dot when he believes he can. If you believe, anything is possible ( except for a turkey to turn into a swan right before Thanksgiving day!). Haha. Seriously, the only way to reach your goals is self belief and don’t give up! Then you can make your dreams reality.
One of my favorite quotes from Thoreau is, “There is one consolation in being sick … the possibility that you may recover to a better state than you were ever in before.” The “sick” part, I’ve always read as “challenge.” We underestimate ourselves in just about every way and we don’t know what we’re capable of until we’re challenged 🙂
Yes, how we handle life’s challenges really does define who we are at the core of our being. And, we never really know what we’re capable of handling until faced with what seems like an insurmountable challenge. It really makes life very meaningful.

These changes aren’t always easy to make. Mom is one person that fights change and when she decides to change it is a very difficult process.

I totally agree, the red dot is easier to catch than trying to change someone.
