C’mon mom let’s go. Do you have to put that big boot on? You look odd but as long as you can get to the Lane. Mmmm…OK.
All right…we’re off in a cloud of nip and bones!
Yuck…it’s all yellow and bare out here. Maybe there’s a mouse about.
Here mewssseeeyyy…come play with me. We’ll have fun.
Guess they don’t believe me. I can hear little pawsteps running away.
I’m coming mom…there are so many prey smells around.
Time to go home? OK, let’s hit the dirt and come again tomorrow.
That was Saturday, my friends. Sunday arrived with a surprise.
Snow!! Oh, no….hope it disappears.
My bowl of water was very cold. Fortunately, it’s The Cat On My Head’s selfie Sunday so I took the picture mom had me shoot yesterday and blended it in with all the other furries pictures. Come see it at The Cat On My Head’s blog. Simply click on the name and be swept along with the tide.
Cool photos. Did the snow go away?

It does seem too early for snow to us also. I’ve had people in Montana and Idaho talk of worrying about snow and even some that have had a light dusting. But here in Oregon we don’t usualy see snow in the mountains until late November and we have some great skiing areas at Mt. Hood and Mt. Bachelor in Bend, OR. The earliest we’ve seen ski season start is late November around American Thanksgiving. Do you think this weather is crazy this year?

Hi there friends. No, this weather is right on time for northern BC. Usually at Halloween there is a fair bit of snow that is staying and the kids are all bundled so it’s difficult to see their costumes. In the summer with all the forest fires….that was unusual weather for this area.
Mom adores Oregon and especially the Pacific Highway. Such a beautiful state.

This is a beautiful place to live. We get quite a bit of rain in the valley but we have the beach, the mountains, high desert areas, just about everything you could want for all types of outdoor sports or just for variety. And the rain keeps it green all year round. Lots of evergreens and ferns and such.
The weird thing lately around here is we have had a few small tornados around the area with 70+ mph winds that have caused some destruction. This is in just ther last couple of weeks. This is very rare for those to happen here because the area has so many hills. It’s not flat at all like the areas that usually get tornados.

Great to see you out and about, maybe tomorrow that mousie will come and play with you? Eeek! Snow, oh man that is such bad luck for the mousie hunting. Heres hoping it goes pretty quick, and that your water bowl unfreezes!

I was quite shaken when I ran outside this morning and found snow and it was just a comin’ down like crazy. It certainly put a damper on my morning romp.

It is so pretty though. We are speaking from an area that may have a couple very small snowstorms a year. We love it when it happens. Usually it is overnight and people all run outside to make snowmen in the wee hours and throw snowballs at each other. Then it is usually gone by 10am the next morning! There may be some remnants of snowmen around but that’s it!

Snow is expected around this time. That’s why all the lawn and deck items are gone. The snow doesn’t stay for a couple of weeks yet.

MOL Do you think I’d like it? Do you take the furs off the prey you give the girls? I don’t want to be picking fur out of my teeth for the rest of the day.

Shoko, honey, I don’t actually catch and kill the prey. I either buy their meat at the grocery or people have given me deer meat. I wish I could get some rabbit, etc. with fur still on, because it contains vitamin K that dogs can’t process from the sun. You will have to ask your Mom to give you a bite of raw steak and see if you like it. Raw Diet is for cats, too!

Oh you don’t hunt and kill? That’s different, Amy. Mom has given me people food but it’s so gross…my stomach flips over. I like Fancy Feast. Maybe I should try some raw chicken to see if I like the food before mom destroys it.

There are things to know about eating raw chicken, especially, and also what your stomach acid needs to be like to digest certain things. If you are serious about wanting raw food, Shoko, I will be glad to send your Mom more info. 🙂

No I was just interested. I like my Fancy Feast and will not eat anything else.

Is your Mom wearing a boot because she hurt her foot ? Did I miss something ?
The ice in your water bowl reminds me that the old-timers called that kind of ice on puddles “cat ice” – because it was only strong enough to hold a cat’s weight.
LikeLike
Yep, mom fractured her foot so must wear this boot for awhile. She is rather clumsy with it on. She has to be careful or she falls down. You know the old saying, “When in doubt, fall down!” Just giving mom a bad time. She is getting used to it.
The saying about ice is cool. I like it. I must remember, *cat ice.*
Thanks Mary.
