KALI…..ORANGE
Here it is Canada’s 150th birthday. That’s a lot of years with many a change to everything except the idea of a happy and free country. Yes, we do have many problems but problems that don’t rock the citizens to their core everyday. We still manage to live a productive and ideal existence.
Mom and dad headed out to the park to help celebrate Canada Day.
There was a Mountie in his red serge dress uniform that mom had to show you.
Serge in this case is a high quality woolen woven fabric. It was 28C in the park and this Mountie has woolen trousers on. Now, that’s dedication!
Mom realized that she would need hot dog buns for their Canada Day BBQ at home so they piled into the Toyota and headed for Save On Foods.
As they walked into the store a man called out and asked if they’d like a Canada Day cupcake. Mom hurried over to get her cupcake. After purchasing hot dog buns, they were off to the car. Mom was balancing the cupcake in her hand. She had to get a picture of this wonderful cupcake.
Home at last…mom went to put the cupcake on the counter and dropped it. Cwap!
She put the icing back nicely…looks tasty and it’s soft too.
What’s all the racquet about…I’m taking my selfie for The Cat On My Head’s Sunday Selfie.
Click on the blog host name and go visit your friends showing off.
See my Mona Kali smile? No? Well, look harder, it’s there!

Happy Canada Day! Poor cupcake and poor Mom with the cupcake hitting the floor! I bet it was delicious! I would love to visit Canada but it is a long way away from us. It looks like a beautiful place in the pictures I see. I do see your Mona Kali smile… 🙂 Hot dogs sound good for tonight with some potato salad!

I had the feeling you were close by…I was wrong. Canada, or most of Canada is under populated except the big cities. The closest town of any size is an hour and a half away. Hot dogs and potato salad were great….not many dishes either.

Hi ERin,
Those guys must be sweltering when it’s so warm out. In the winter the wool would be great but not when it’s 27C.

Our mom would have eaten that cupcake so fast she wouldn’t have had a chance to drop it. Kali, your smile is much more lovely than that of Mona Lisa. The smile on the Mountie, however, looks a bit forced…must be that hot, itchy woolen clothing. Best Wishes for Canada Day. Thanks for hopping. Happy 150th to our Canadian friends! We live near the border and we LOVE you guys!! ❤ ❤

Do you whip across the border to take advantage of cheaper groceries? We use to do that when we lived on the border at Peace Arch Park. Course that was many years ago in the 70’s when our dollar was stronger….many moons ago. Chickies were cheaper in the states and milk. I still remember that. I felt so guilty bringing this stuff across the border saying I didn’t buy anything. LOL

We love our neighbors to the North! Since we are so close to Windsor, Ontario, there is always a big fireworks display, for both countries. Isn’t that cool? I think it is. Long ago, they built Fort Wayne to defend the Detroit River, but a shot was never fired upon Canada from there.
LikeLike
Fort Wayne, eh? I see its 172 miles…that is pretty close. Typical Canada would rather talk it’s way out of a mess than shoot first and ask questions later. Mom has never been to Windsor Ontario, in spite of living in Toronto, Ottawa and Kingston as a kid.
Have a great Independence Day my friend. Have a burger for us too.
