The Cat On My Head is hosting the Selfie blog hop and it was my turn to show my stuff. hehe I sound so risqué.
KALI…..ORANGE Mom has probably told you my food allergy has been acting up again. I’ve been scratching my neck until there is a humongous bare spot on my neck. Mom’s solution, tie Shoko’s bandana from Cat Scouts around my neck. She also put me on hypoallergenic wet food. OMC….it’s the most disgusting food I’ve ever tasted! Mom has discovered a way to get me to eat some though. Now get this my buddies……she spoon feeds me. MOL I have to put something in my mouth or I’d laugh myself silly.
See the black stuff at the corner of my eyes. This is worse when my food allergy is acting up.
I’m almost getting where I like this bandana. I feel rather chic.
Go take a peek at the others posing for the selfies. Click on The Cat On My Head and pop over.
This is a special announcement for those living in California near Elk Snout…..Oh my…..I mean Elk Grove.
The public is invited to a book launch party at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center, 9080 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove CA on March 11, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. to celebrate the publication of Mrs. Odboddy Undercover Courier, Elaine Faber’s fifth cozy mystery/adventure novel. Regular price: $16.00 Special book Launch price $10.00
. Refreshments will be served. We’d be there if we weren’t so far away.
Tres chic..but don’t scratch! Do you have a grain allergy, by any chance? I have to check the grain content in the catfood here-rice is ok but wheat can be inflammatory..
The vet said there is something in commercial catfood that disagrees with a lot of cats. Specially this item is found in chicken catfood. Sure enough chicken catfood has her itching like crazy. I will check the grain as opposed to rice. Thanks Samantha.
I thought Charlie may have been allergic at one point, but it turns out she’s a stress over-groomer, although she’s not half as bad now I have Feliway.
Honestly..things we do for our cats! Worth it though 🙂 xxx
It works like a plug in air freshener, but it gives out feline pheremones that help to relax a stressy cat. Definitely worthwhile investing in one, it worked a treat for Charlie :)xxx
I saw the spray. I learned my lesson with a spray years ago. I got a catnip spray for Kali and sprayed it in the air….I guess it was an aerosol spray. It scared the hell of her and she has been afraid of me spraying anything around her….I feel bad as she will run and hide.
You could always spray it on er blanket while she’s out of the room…but this is why the Feliway is good because it just disperses it gradually into the room 🙂 xxx
So very sorry that your allergies are acting up, but the entertainment of being spoonfed is some compensation and you certainly do look chic in that bandana.
Oh Kali…..I’m sorry you have that icky food allergy but if spoon-feeding gets you to eat your special diet then please do it!!! The bandana helps your poor neck heal up……..I hope the new food gets you “itch-less” quickly!
My peep has some fortiflora sachets to sprinkle on my food to make it taste nicer…. works some of the time but others I just lick the powder off and leave the wet food. Love the bandana, those colours are really cheery. Get better soon. Purrs, Erin
Erin, I would probably eat the powder too. I get tired of no excitement at mealtime. I need a really good food…c’mon mom I know you have some yummy food…where is it?
Sorry to hear that your food allergy is worse, but isn´t it nice to very royal eating with a spoon, golden I suppose. The colours of your bandana matches with the soft honey colour of your fur.
Kosmo
Just between you and I….I sneak out on the deck and eat the catfood outside when mom’s not looking, It’s so tasty. I don’t think it’s any good for me though cause I really itch afterwards. The bandana seems to be popular. I never knew this!
Really? *bats eyelashes*. You didn’t just say I wore it with pancakes and gravy….did you? Oh….panache….and grace. That is fashionable. Thank you so much Bearcat. This makes me happy.
My Truffie needs to be spoon fed too! the rascal! Thanks for the book plug. You might add that the url to Amazon to buy is http://tinyurl.com/jn5bzwb ($3.99 ebook).
Kali, we’re almost jealous of that bandana. Looks so confy. Your humans pretty special to make sure you get spoon fed to makes you better. You lookin pretty pawsome!!
The bandana is comfy, just not my idea. I like to think of these ideas first. I do feel special when mom spoon feeds me…she just looks funny makin the spoon sound like a mouse as she puts it before me. She can be so funny and she doesn’t even mean to be funny. MOL
Kali, Lexi would be proud of you, eating off a spoon. She loved to “use” silverware like her peeps, and knew the best stuff came off forks and spoons. At her second award banquet, Lexi sat at the head of the table and all the cast came by to say hello to her and watch her eat her plate of fresh salmon and asparagus from her own fork. I am sure everyone who sees you will say you are amazing, just like they did with Lexi. 🙂
Oh, and the new header…bwahahahahaha! Look out Shoko, there’s a shark about to eat you!!
Lexi was so smart. A real celebrity too. If I can be anywhere as good as Lexi….count me in. It is kind of mom to try and get me to eat this garbage, she calls food. There must be something tastier than this stuff.
I think the shark adds a certain mystery to the header. Does Shoko know her hat is about to eat her? MOL
Kali, even though our Mom would be glad to lovingly open a can of tuna for your supper, it doesn’t contain all the essential ingredients you need for good health, such as taurine. But maybe she could add a bit to your new food to make it tastier?
Darn food allergies. Fergus has these too, but his don’t cause skin breakouts. Rather, his cause him to spend long and disgusting amounts of time in the cat box. Not fun for anyone. Hope that spoon-fed food does the trick for you!
Jean, this is how Kali’s food allergy started and stayed with her for 10 years and then we changed her to hypo-allergenic soy dry food and nothing else. Even Shoko had to eat it. She got better from the diarrhea and now the food allergy shows as very itchy skin but her bowel movements are super. Kali was about 2 when her food allergy showed its ugly little head.
Cody has been itching to beat the band!! He hasn’t been on Pred in months and months (highly unusual) but I think he is causing little scabs from scratching so I may have to call the Vet and put him back on it. Hope your allergies feel better soon!
Kali had to go to the vet’s too. She had scratched her fur right off and it was not coming back. The vet gave her some stuff that was not all that great….very slow acting but it did stop infections from starting up. I have since heard of a cream/suave I am going to try. It is called vetericyn. It is available through Amazon but also in this city. So I will get some and report to you on the effects.
That bandana is very pretty, K. Once when I was got surgery, Mom made me wear a bandana to cover my stitches. It was a plain red one. She said I looked like a gang banger.
I am sorry that your allergies are making you itchy, but you do look cute in your bandana. I get those black crusty yuks in the corner of my eyes when I am not feeling so good too.
Oh Kali, we’re sorry you’re not feelin’ well and don’t like your noms. Don’t be scratchin’ all your bootyful fur off, k? Has your mommy tried different proteins fur you and cuttin’ out foods with grains and oats? Dat sometimes helps. Ya’ know foods with like rabbit, venison and other unique purroteins are offen very helpful fur these food allergies. We’re sendin’ hugs and purrayers.
Thanks for the tips Dezi and Raena. Mom has tried various foods and sometimes I eat them sometimes I won’t touch them. Sometimes I eat them the first day and want nothing to do with it the next day. Mom will keep a look out.
We know all ’bout dat Kali. Mommy says we coulda opened a cat food store with all da different foods we had in da house when sis Lexi was doin’ da eat and not eat thing. Good luck and we’re purrayin’.
Darn food allergies. I think your scarf looks super and I love the colors. Mom says we are not far from Elk Grove but she is not much into reading. Just not enough hours in the day, according to her.
We are totally in love with your current header. You two are beyond adorable. Kali, we’d like to see a photo or two of you being spoon fed. Pretty nice! Hope you can get your allergies under control. Thanks for being our friends and hopping with us. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
I’ll let mom know you like the header. She does work hard at it and mutters away to herself. I’ll see if I can get a selfie with mom spoon feeding me….it won’t be easy but for the Kittiesblue, it’s worth it.
YIKES about the allergy! We hope you feel better soon – isn’t that allergy food disgusting!!We tried it on Dusty – the look he gave us would’ve killed an elephant…..
Da bandana looks pawsome on you!
