Kali’s Adventure

acstHi ya friends.  I sit atop the love seat back to tell you about today’s post.  I feel so tall sitting here and looking right in your face.

Mom was getting quite worried about Kali over the last 10 days.  Kali was lethargic, didn’t eat much, drank little and slept in the condo most of the day then coming to bed and continuing to sleep at night.  She would cry out in her sleep at night and mom would get up and pet her, all the time talking about fun things that Kali would like.

So guess what happened? That’s right, Kali won the award for sleeping more than any other cat in our vicinity.  MOL  Sorry mom, I couldn’t help but kid around.   On a more serious note, Kali had an appointment with the vet.  Off she went.  I said I’d wait here, no need for me to tag along, thank you very much.                                                                       ackalivetDr. Kalyn said Kali’s weight and hydration levels were good and she recommended mom give her Meticam for 3 days in a row to see if it lessened the pain in her arthritic joints.  Mom and dad were giving her Meticam but only when Kali was having difficulty walking.  Then the three of them headed back home.  Mom and dad took turns giving Kali her liquid oral med for the three days.  Was there a difference?  You bet your booties there was!!  Kali was racing around the hall on the second day and playing with toys, even though her paw was very sore before, now she was hitting toys with the paw.                                                                             akp                    Simon’s Cat hearts had to run from the paw.                                                                     akp2Sorry about the picture quality friends but in the first picture Kali”s paws were movin’ pretty fast.  I don’t know what happened in the second photo….her paw is clear as a bell but her face’s all fuzzy.  Her face wasn’t movin’ all that fast.  Go figure!

Have a great day and may all your mice be furless….nothing worse than furs up the nose when one is hard at play.                                                            Kali and Shoks

She is like the sister I remember. When she plays I just have to sit down and watch…instead of my usually barging in and taking away the toy. I’m just a happy kitty with a sis that is happy.

Thanks for the comment Doug. She is such a happy kitty most of the time but when she’s in pain, she has no patience for silly kitty play and those that thrust it upon her but she is always kind to peeps. She just wants to be left alone but be close enough to see what everybody’s doing.

      Hey there Kosmo,

The medicine does seem to be working. Kali has gone three days without meds and is starting to get sore so mom gave her some med today. Kali was outside with mom as she picked the chard….um…mom picked the chard, not Kali. MOL

Shokolino at your service my friends.

Pleased she’s feeling better, Metacam is good stuff, my old cat had to have it. Also, you can get natural oil supplement capsules for cats that can help joint mobility-even a spoonful of tuna in oil can help. Hope Kali continues to improve x

She really gave Simon’s Cat the boot or paw. She totally enjoyed playing and had a snooze in her stroller afterwards. I thank you for a toy she really likes and is interested in. It’s hard to figure out what she’ll like.

Oh how wonderful that Kali’s ouchies are so much better with the medication! Sounds like it’s just the ticket. We love that picture of you on top of the chair Shoko – you look like QUEEN (which of course you are!).

I am so happy she’s not in as much pain. She’s really grouchy some days but I do understand, its just not very much fun. Kali is funny, she follows mom around. If mom goes outside, Kali goes outside. If mom is working in the kitchen, Kali curls up in her stroller and watches mom.

It’s pretty rough when we don’t feel well and an asthma attack is scary. Scary for both TW and you, CK. Just flop about and eat good food…you’ll get extra treats. Our thoughts are with you and Kali sure understands where you’re coming from.

Shoko, you sure are a good sis. I know Kali loves you lots, too, and is happy to be able to play with you again. We sure can give our Moms lots to worry about! I hope Kali’s tummy stays ok and she can keep enjoying her food.

Hi there Lexi, our future mayor,

Kali’s tummy is starting to get upset with the meds so she is sitting on her swinging bench enjoying the fresh air. Hope she feels better tomorrow.

Mom’s thinking the Medicam may be upsetting Kali’s tummy as she had a bad night last night so mom did too. She is sleeping on her swinging bench this morning. For sure I’ll stop around.

We are keeping our paws crossed. Last night was a bad night for Kali. She was sick to her tummy and hid in different parts of the house. It’s a cwappy day here, all overcast and yucky.

    Thanks for the good wishes.
