Canada Day was yesterday and what a day it was! It was a cold and snowy day. It was not Shoko! It was a warm and sticky day! I don’t think so my dear white pile of fur . Shoko its July, we don’t get snow in July. There is no way my furs were sticky under my arm pits. I have never sweated. Of course not. mom says women glow and men sweat. Have you ever seen Buddy sweat? I’ve never seen Einstein’s lovely floofy tail drenched in sweat. He’s gorgeous and no sweat….
No sweat on Einstein either. He is one fine hunka fur.
As I was saying yesterday was Canada Day so mom and dad went to the park to see the Canada Day celebrations. They were gone for several hours and it was dark when they came home. I was trying to be brave as we were down to the last kibble. No it wasn’t dark Shoko. They were gone for maybe an hour or two and we had lots of food.
On with my tail of Canada Day. A devoted Canadian Citizen! I wonder if he got his citizenship papers today along with several others? Perhaps he’s just odd…That’s rude Shoko, be nice!
The Medieval group in town put on a fight scene for observers.
Talk about sweating….bet those dudes and dudettes were hot.
Just a glimpse of our Canada Day celebrations.
Now, it’s time for Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Artsy Caturday blog hop. Take a hop over there and view all the other anipals that had to put up with their mom’s messing with their picture.
Here I am sound asleep in our stroller. Mom used this picture to start messing with for Caturday Artsy Day.
Mom used Pizap to fiddle with my beautiful relaxing picture. Mom sharpened my image and that’s all the fixin she did. It is different.
Have a great Caturday and may your snow storms in July be few. Happy 149th birthday Canada!
Great pictures, hope you enjoyed the celebrations!

That conversation about sweating and cats was interesting. The pic of Shoko is beautiful, both of them. Finland is next year 100 years in December.
You had great party, it is good to have the independence day at summertime.
Have a warm weekend, no snow!

Finland will only be 100 and Canada is 150 years next year. Mom had thought Finland was discovered before Canada. Think she needs a refresher on history. MOL
It is great that we celebrate in summer. Can you imagine if we celebrated in winter. Nobody would show up for any event. hehe

Hi Shoko, you Mom is right, Finland is older, but we were many times under Sweden or Russia, and year 1917 Russia gave us independence.
LikeLike
We never realized Finland was under Russian control for awhile. How very intresting; Sweden mom can understand. Do you celebrate your independence? Like the Canadians or the Americans celebrate?

We celebrate by burning blue and white, as our flag, candles, having fireworks and watching tv in the evening when the President has a big party with politicians and all the famous in here.
Ps. We are between Sweden and Russia and they had many wars in history, so the winner got Finland are we were always the part of the winner. But we have had our own language,, which is really different from swedish and russian, it is related to estonian.

Finnish history sounds fascinating. I must confess mom really hasn’t done much thinking about Finland, that is, before you came along Kosmo and Rantsalot. Thanks for the tidbit of info.

My mom said yesterday that she has to read some history of Canada, because she doesn’t know much. 🙂 Our moms have a lot of same things, I suppose they are even about the same age. My mom’s hair is like silver wire.
Have a nice day!

I guess the schools here and there in Finland teach about their own countries and only tell a wee bit about other countries. Because we are right beside the United States, we know more about their history than our own. My mom dyes her hair so she is probably a little silver underneath the ash blonde colour. Mom is 66 and ready to rumble. MOL May your day be a sunny one Kosmo.

Believe it or not Kali has a thing for oregano! Mom had to get rid of our oregano, well, there wasn’t too much left. Most of it was crushed. Didn’t look very appetizing with little white furs sticking all over it or so mom said. A friend of mom’s is in the group and she often talks about Renaissance Fairs, perhaps this was one. The picture looked like it was fun. You are so sweet Katie Kitty…mom had to catch me asleep to get me in one place. I am busy.

Thanks for putting up pics of the Medieval group. We had a great day there (it has been much hotter). The rain didn’t come till it was time to pack up. Everyone and everything was soaked before we were done.

What fun, Judy. These warriors were terrific. It must get boring doing the same scenes but some, like the woman, attacked in different ways and it was amusing. We both enjoyed it.
We decided to go home just before the rain started so when the downpour came we were sitting at home.

The fireworks were horrible here too. I hid and nobody could find me. Kali just lay on mom’s bed and occasionally lifted her head but she never moved. What a dork! This loud noise could’ve been an automatic rifle and she’d be dead. We did live close if not in *The Hood.*

It was not too hot here dear furrends. Mommy ran away early in the morning and helped her sister puts together a fire pit (propane) for her back yard. Then they went to the River Inn Pub and watched live bands playing on a barge in the marina and drinked beer all afternoon! The sun came out and Mommy gotted burned! Good thing she was drinking near beer and not the real thing!

It wasn’t the beer that made her get burned was it Nellie? mom doesn’t drink and she tans. Dad drinks or used to and he burns. Perhaps there is a pattern here. Can’t say dad drank near beer though. Mom says the live bands sound fantastic. This is a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.

You got a point….peeps can stink…I mean really like hi -u -hum! Tell your mom to walk around with a can of Febreeze and spray it when necessary. Artsy, fartsy, artsy, fartsy….it just rolls off one’s tongue….so easily. MOL Mom is very patient with us. She knows I’m shy and don’t like others see me lovin’ mom so she tries to stay awake and pet me. She thinks it stems from my kittenhood. I can’t remember but could be. Kali wakes mom up if there is not enough dry food but Kali talks at her….at length. I wake her when something is happening I don’t like. Like the kit lit needs cleaning. Sometimes Kali goes the other at night and dude the smell…time to call mom. The only time she objects is when she’s having trouble walking. I usually curl up beside her and when she can walk, she cleans the kit lit. Otherwise all is well and we all sleep like logs.
