Piglove and Gentlestitches are hosting this reading of a story. We intend to do a book review also.
We read many cat books because of our story time every night, some are good and some are alright. There are very few books out there that we do not like at least some part of the story. However, books written from the cat’s perspective have a special place in our hearts. The following book employs this technique with great success.
The book we are reviewing is called, “Black Cat and The Accidental Angel” written by Elaine Faber. This book is the third and as yet the final book in the series. From the moment we started reading……we were hooked. The story begins where the previous story, “Black Cat and The Lethal Lawyer” leaves off. Thumper and his family are heading home from their visit in Texas. They are not far from home when suddenly, the SUV is in an accident and the carrier with the cats in it is thrown from the vehicle, landing in an awkward place that is impossible for the family to find. The adventure begins as Angel and Thumper try to find their way home. One massive problem exists, Thumper has lost his memory and doesn’t even know who the cat is with him.
These two cats have many adventures while attempting to walk home. Mom laughed, sniffled and down right cried. She got that attached to the kitties and their struggles. The plot twists kept her reading when she normally would quit for the night. The ending came way too quickly for us. So in short, I would say if you want a boring book to read so you can fall asleep quickly, don’t get, “Black Cat and the Accidental Angel.” However, if you want an excellent read with cats that are real to life, DO buy, “Black Cat and the Accidental Angel.” The only thing left for us to do is get Elaine Faber to write a fourth book in the, “Black Cat” series. MOL
The author forwarded pictures of the cats that were her muses for Thumper and Angel. I thought you would be as delighted to see them as we were.
This charmer’s name is Boots alias Black Cat and Thumper.
Meet gorgeous Amber, alias Noe Noe and Angel.
These precious kitties live with the author and happily share their lives.
Now, without further adieu mom is going to read part of the first chapter of, “Black Cat and The Accidental Angel” on video. Please excuse her feet as she was relaxing and laying back.
Mom only read a portion of the first chapter. To see how the story goes, you’ll just have to get the book.
Hope you’ve enjoyed peeking in our bedroom…we enjoyed the company. Ya all come back now…..ya hear. MOL

Great review, Jean. Thanks for choosing my book to share. Remember, the name of the books is Black Cat and the Accidental Angel!

Fixed Elaine. I called the book Accidental Angel cause that’s the name we used to say we wanted to read. Black Cat and The Accidental Angel, is a mouthful.

Hi Elaine,
I corrected any mistakes as soon as I saw your post. The name is a mouthful and when hubby wanted a read, he shortened the title. I got the idea.

That is a great review, I think you should review books more often. I am going to see if the library has this series. I forgot today was read to your cat day, I may do a very late post for it.

You think I should do reviews more often? This was an excellent book and well worth the read, not all books are this absorbing and I don’t like to give anybody a bum steer…in fact I won’t. If, I don’t like a book I will not say its a good book. That’s lying. I am not polished enough to review a book and dislike it nicely on paper. Maybe I could make some money if I were polished. haha
A new cat has moved next door and she is a beaut! I thought of you when I saw her. I’ll do a post with her in it. Her name is Juno.
Your friend,
Jean

Sorry. Your library won’t have the book :(, but it’s only $3.99 at Amazon! That’s not too much for five hours of entertainment! Hope you’ll spring for your own copy!

You girls look like you enjoy being read to. I’ve heard cats like to hear the sound of their staff’s voices even if we allegedly don’t unnerstand a word. That’s a great review.

We do enjoy our story CK. Mom can get quite inventive with her talking in the story…we wait for her to sound really strange and then we mew out loud at her. Glad you enjoyed the review.

Boots and Amber are indeed beautiful cats. Elaine is lucky they keep her around. You know, its probably because Elaine makes them seem larger than life in her books.

If ya do Amazon Kindle Apprentice Cat by Virginia Ripple was free. Then as a bonus Journeyman Cat, the second book, was free also. The story is about a cat who lives in a world of magic. Cats work with humans as a team with each going to university of magic. There are some bad characters and books hero Toby, has lost his father to dark forces, or has he?
A fun read and we are half way through Journeyman Cat.
