They say Spring has sprung. Well Spring is struggling to stay out around here, She keeps hiding and letting a dress of white occupy the backyard. We don’t even want to see another picture of this dress….months and months we watched nature give us the Winter whites. Yuck…no more mom! Bring on the sunshine and flowers. Come on let’s exam the garden for signs of life.
Hey, dad’s digging over my veggie garden. The ground is no longer frozen. High five, Kali!!
The tulips are peeking out. Bad news mom….the weeds seem to be posing for the picture. Guess we’ll be out weeding before long.
2nd year buds are on the transplanted lilac bush. Mom’s never seen the bald headed, tattooed man she got it from again. Someone told mom it takes a good three years for transplanted lilacs to have flowers. We shall see.
Look at the nip buds!! Dad said he had to re-net the nip….there were layers of cat hair on it. Dang visitors…..we wouldn’t do that!!
Here is our last sign of Spring in the backyard. It’s my Hawaiian collar that I lost in December! Now that the snow’s gone, dad found it. The red suits me…my favourite collar. I thought it was gone for good.
Oh cwap! Kali’s found a new kitten in the neighbourhood. She seems to like him. Another sign of Spring…new kittens in the area. This guy looks to be 5 months though. Get away from him Kali….we don’t need anymore visitors!! Our nip is getting too hairy.
A further sign of spring are the puddles but no ice.
There you have it friends, the signs of spring around our place and our first walk of the year in the Lane.
May your week have more nip than medicine.
Yay for signs of spring! We had a sign too – first lawn mow of the year. Mom called the service and told him our weeds had gotten too long, BOL! Hope you continue to enjoy the good weather, my friends.

You ladies get a lot of company. I am glad you found your collar and that Spring is here. We wrote about the moose you sent us ( Monday’s post), he invited a friend and my hubby saw a real one for the first time ever.

Kali knows better than to keep asking kitties over but since she feels better she seems to like everybody. I must go back and look at your post for the moose….MOL…I like those guys. Moose are huge…mom’s says I’d never leave the house if I saw one.

Yep, I so missed my Hawaiian collar! No luck finding it in December but I’m wearing it now. Today it snowed so Kali and I curled up with our blankies and went off to dreamland.

your collar is clever… it found a cave for hibernation under that snow…well done! one of our lilacs needed 5 years till we got the first flowers, but they were white and they sadly have no smell. the other one probably never gets flowers because my dad and the lawn mower were busy in the garden :o(

I really loved my Hawaiin collar and when I lost it mom and dad looked all over the backyard but neither of them saw the collar. I guess snow had covered it by then. Five years to flower? Holy Nip! That is a long time. Mom thought white lilac were suppose to have a fragrance. Mom had a white lilac tree at the other house and it had a lovely fragrance. I wonder if the soil influences the aroma?

Do you know Dharth….it snowed last night and today its raining? What terrible weather. I’m curled up in my tent between mom’s pillows. Kali is washing her toes after a fine treat of chicken and broth baby food. She had her Naprosyn syringe and mom thought a treat was in store. Kali is very good about taking it. Lucky for mom its liquid so she can give it to Kali.

Hi ya Cupcake. You’d think Spring wouldn’t be far off but it snowed last night and then rained today. Needless to say it is very wet in these parts. I won’t get my booties wet in the Lane so I’ve curled up with my blankie on the bed.

Woah…the grass has been mowed in Midway! What a grand start to Spring. Mom doesn’t mow the grass anymore…dad’s job. MOL Don’t think he likes it anymore than mom did but they both like a nicely eaten lawn. Me? I appreciate not getting lost on the way to the Lane. Mom loves the Cherry Blossoms around Vancouver….who wouldn’t?

Glad spring is coming your way. Here in California, we have already had apple blossoms come and gone, leaves springing out on all the trees and grass mowing a couple of times. After several years of drought, finally we’ve had enough rain to make everything green again. Thank goodness! Mom just got back from Disneyland! Yep! You betcha. What a trip. Grand-sister marched in the parade. Pix on Facebook at Elaine Faber. Check it out! we sure missed her for three days. Happy Spring, everyone! (Bootsie, Amber, Truffie, Jazzie and the three at the back door that come to dinner night and morning)

Great to hear from you Elaine. You trying to make us jealous, woman? MOL We won’t see Apple Blossoms for another month or so. Mom would like a dwarf apple tree but dad is well…dad. He mows the lawn and says he doesn’t wan’t anything in his way. Kinda scary to think about…this mad mower shredding anything in his way.
Concats to your grand sis. Mom loved Disneyland when they went….like ages ago…in 1978.
The book is going well. You got us hooked, we have to read a couple of chapters each night. Mom thinks we’re just about finished but there are so many twists and turns…..we adore it.
