Saturday at Shoko’s

I broke my own rule today.  I vowed I would never climb, other than jumping over the fence that is….well today I saw a woodpecker.  You know, the feathery guys with one big long nose that goes tap-tap-tap on the chimney.  Well, I had enough of this Joe Woodpecker and wanted him gone.

shokonorthern flicker woodpeckerzmHere I am inching my way up the Arbor and the Northern Flicker Woodpecker is sitting on the roof of the greenhouse.  Dad got out his bird book and looked him up for me.  Thanks dad.

shoko2By the time I was up on the Arbor and already to tell that woodpecker where to go….he was gone.  It was dang slippery up on those wooden bars but I stayed up there for awhile just to make sure that guy didn’t come back.

Meanwhile Kali was keeping the basket warm so I curled up with her when I got in…….just to keep warm and snuggy.                                                                 SKzmElsewhere in the house, Elfin John was keeping himself amused.

elfin JohnzmYumpin’ yimminy I caught another nip sardine.  This is one great fishing hole.

Mom was making Potato and Leek soup for supper and dad was wishing for Chinese food.  Dad won and the potato and leek soup will be savoured another day.

Mom and dad, happy anniversary from Kali and I.  We promise to be good and not barf from overeating for the whole day.  You’ve been married for 44 years…holy dude, that’s like forever.  hehehe

Today is selfie Sunday so I have a selfie with Elfin John.  Do drop by  the blog Timmy’s Commentary and view all the other special anipal selfies.                                                                               elfinshok                                                                                                                                                    Kali and Shoks

Joe or Woody…whatever his name is will meet with a sad accident one day. He is very disruptive with his tap-tap-tap. The folks are really getting on, eh…imagine staying with one peep that long. I think I would have given Kali some serious scars if I have to leave with her that long! She may have killed me after that length of time. hehe

Happy Anniversary to your mum and dad! My humans celebrated their 44th in October.
Those woodpeckers need to be taught a lesson. They like to taunt and then fly away.

The peeps sure are old but they’re funny and I like funny. You know I haven’t seen that woodpecker since I raced up the Arbor and told him off. The weather is very strange for this time of year. Usually we have lots of snow but not this year…just a dusting. I’m sure by Christmas there will be more snow,

I didn’t want to eat him…scare the bejeebers out of him…yes, but I hate feathers in my teeth. Dad sure loved the Chinese food…its a memory now. Elfin John seems to be one of the happy elfs and not a pain…..at least not yet.

This is one of the very few times you’ll see me climb. Normally its so dry in the atmosphere that there is no ice or great frosting on the trees. Mom has learned that the pulp mill dispels steam during some nights and this gives the air more moisture…therefore icy trees. Don’t they look pretty?
