Never Thought I’d See The Day

I got the surprise of my wee life yesterday.  Mom took off and left us for hours!  Well, at least an hour.  She ran out of wet cat food, if you dare imagine such neglect from our mother.  I couldn’t believe my ears and kept shaking my head but sure enough, the cupboard was bare.                                                      zoomedbrightshokSo there I sat without a shred of food….only my memory of the wonderful taste of cat food.  I sat pondering how my life could have taken such a detour when mom came in loaded with bags from pet stores.  I was almost in tears to see Beef Wellington, Beef Pate, Thanksgiving Dinner and Beef Flavoured Fancy Feast.  All Kali and my favourites.

Mom also found something else which she proceeded to put on me.  I was horrified!  This is what my friends call a harness.  I hissed at mom just so she knew I did not like this terrible turn of events.                                                         DSC_0740       I’m at a loss of what to do, hiss, pee or just barf.  I am very upset with you mom.                                                                               DSC_0741    You know, it doesn’t hurt.  I think it’s padded…it is comfy and warm.                                                                DSC_0743   Mom does seem rather proud of me.  She gave me 5 freeze dried chicky boobie pieces.  What should I do, I made such a fuss.                                                                              DSC_0742        hehe…I feel silly.  I can’t kick up a stink when it feels this good and I’m getting so tired after that wonderful Beef Wellington and getting worked up.  Maybe a bit of a lie down.                                                              DSC_0745*yawn*….feeling…zzzzz

humans should wear an alarm-clock what rings when they leave a store without our food. my mom “furgot” it too and my dad had to drive to the town again…. and he really asked “if that has time till tomorrow”… unbelievable… I like your harness, that looks cool somehow… like the uniform of a security chief :o)

Exactly Easy. Instead of an alarm clock, a device that gives them a shock when they furget our food. Not enough to render them unconscious but enough to seriously let them know, they furgot our food.

Good way to look at the harness. I thought it look like the clothing of a prisoner. I like your idea better though.

Shoko I think that’s a very pretty harness – is your Mom going to start taking you for walkies on a leash? I wear a harness when I go outside with my Mom. I’m so glad she didn’t let you down in the FOODABLES department though when it came to her shopping adventure – you girls do need food to keep looking boooootiful!

Mom talks a lot Sammy but she did mutter something about us going in the car to a quiet walking area but not until I accept the harness and a leash….she doesn’t have a leash yet..whew! I was not as good today and dragged my tummy on the floor so mom is going to try and play with me in the basement with my harness on…one of my favourite places. The food mom got is delish….she outdid herself. Aww…thanks for the compliment Sammy.

We did too for quite awhile. Mom discovered that we were filling up on dry food before supper and we weren’t that hungry anymore. Oh, we’d force down some really awesome food but often we’d barf it up. Too full! Now, mom takes the dry away at night and we’re starving to death by breakfast. We eat most of it. I like to leave a little to show I have some manners. Kali devours everything in short order.

That must have been very scary when you found the food cupboard bare. Thank goodness it is refilled now. That is a pretty harness.

Shoko, you look good in your harness. Y’know, I have a harness too and the first time the mom put it on me, I hated it! But when I realized that when I wear it, it means I get to go outside, I learned to love that harness. Because I love to go outside. ~Wally

That’s what mom says…that I can go for walks other than the Lane. I am getting kinda bored with the lane. It will take us some time to get out of the house cause I’m having second thoughts about the harness and hiss at mom. I have to get used to a leash too. Mom figures by the time the snow leaves, I’ll be leash and harness ready.

Tell your mum to resume the fittings soon and then you can wear off some energy outside. You are young and will accept the harness way faster than I will. It’s a pain but mom figures there is plenty of time until next spring. The idea that you ran around the place is excellent. Most cats just fall over and won’t move. I didn’t do that so I will accept it in time. I play with mom in the basement when she puts it on so I associate the harness with fun things.

Filet Mignon!! That’s not fish is it? That’s the only filet I’ve heard about. Some beef would be nice. They make beef flavoured cat treats eh? I didn’t know that. That is worth a hint for mom’s next shopping day
      Thanks my friends..

No food!!!!????? No food???!!!! I have nightmares about that. TW always jokes when I’m down to my last 3 boxes of pouches that she’s gonna let them run out. That harness actually looks good on you. Did Kali get one too or are you special?

You have boxes of food!! Wow, you’re lucky. Mom keeps complaining there is not enough room for more cat food in the cupboard. If, we threw away her potato chips and wheat thins….there’d be lots of room. What about the diet Pepsi…you don’t need a whole dozen.

Thanks CK….I am having second thoughts and draggin’y tummy around. Mom puts it on once a day and we head for the basement for a play session. She’s hoping by spring I’m used to it. She doesn’t have much faith in me. hehe

Thank you Ladies. I sure don’t feel gorgeous in that thing! It is very restrictive and I walk with my tummy draggin’ on the ground. Mom wants me to put it on before we play so I guess I have to wear it if I want to play in the basement with mom. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it.

      Big hugs,
