Mom, what are you doing? I’m looking for a picture for Bacon’s Show and Tell. It is suppose to be a picture of me when I was younger, like a class picture. Witch school did you go to? Specialized school…like Gardening School? Take it away Cow-Kitty…. Or was it Herbal Therapy School? Show your stuff for us Sky and Willow…
Just kiddin’ ya mom. This picture shows everyone how serious kids were back then. This was the effect of, “Duck and Cover.” Protection for school students from the Nuclear bomb. Some kids are laughing though. They probably didn’t have a TV. Mom was 13 years old…. think she was in the 8th grade. She was a winner!! Believing she had 2 heads and was just a giant zit. That’s MY mom.
A real charmer. Notice how all the girls are wearing skirts or dresses. Also notice the film is not in colour.
This next picture mom wants to put in the post to feel better. Look how girls change when they discover boys. This is 4 years later. All the girls are still wearing dresses or skirts and colour film was not yet common.
This has been a hoot, Bacon. Thank goodness Dad found the old photos.

The kids were different except mom of course. Mom’s family moved from Victoria to Richmond BC. She was very proud of her go go boots. She wanted fish net stockings but her mom said, “No Way, its bad enough you have to wear those boots and its not even raining.” Apparently, fish net stockings didn’t protect her legs so it was a no go. She says girls that wore them looked so sharp and if they had go go boots too….well, they were just IT.

Are you looking for these girls underwear Dezi? Tsk tsk. This is not the south but we usually do ok unless someone is looking for our underwear! MOL Just kidding you Dezi. Look at the first picture and then the second. See how our knees are not showing in the first picture but the skirt was well above the knee in the second picture. That’s probably why you could see some girls undies. The teacher would never have thought of it as her skirt was well below the knees.

We do have them but Bacon’s show and tell wanted mom’s class picture. That would be cool …a step by step report of how we progressed throughout the years.

Ah….a totem…very interesting. I am going to miss Nellie something fierce. Am I still a Cat from Hell or should I start my own Hall of Infamy? Whatever is happening that causes you not to blog as often, I do understand. Real life comes first. I will keep your e-mail unless it has changed.
If you ever need us…..you know where we are and we’ll be happy to help you.
Big Hugs,

Whoa! Lookit those short skirts. Was your Mom trying to be Twiggy? TW’s school pics were in very soft color like those antique pic filters in PicMonkey.

If they were in colour, they were not as old as moms. Can you imagine how excited everyone was when coloured film came along. Mom always thought she was fat…..even way back then.
