Aww….a nice relaxing Sunday.  Time for a memory, a visit from next door and a selfie.

Yesterday we had visitors from the lower mainland stop by for a chat.  The lower mainland is the Vancouver/ Vancouver Island area.  These visitors were mom’s nephew (David) and his wife from Powell River.  They seemed nice enough for peeps.  When mom told me the story of when my Uncle David came and stayed with mom and dad….I really liked him then.  He is my kind of guy.                                                                            This story happened many, many years ago.  Uncle David was 15 and mom was 25.  Apparently, Uncle David was going through teenage stuff where his mom was a pain and so it was decided Uncle David needed a time out with mom and dad.  This one particular day mom was out visiting with the lady that had mom’s chicken in a chicken coop with other chickens.  BJ was mom’s chicken but I’m getting off the original story.  Uncle David was kicking around mom and dad’s house.  Doing stuff that only teenage boys would find interesting.  Mom walked in the house and smelled something strange.  She panicked and thought the sofa was smoldering in the livingroom.  She ran into the livingroom to find Uncle David kicking back with a smoke in his mouth.  Mom told him it stunk and what kind of tobacco was it.  Uncle David said it was catnip!  He said seeing the cats got such a reaction to catnip he thought he’d try it and get a kick too.  So mom asked him if he got a, “kick” from the nip.  To which Uncle David replied, “No, but my eyes are sure watering from the smell.”  This kid had guts!                                                     Cow-kitty decided to pop over for a visit later.  He was very vocal while walking about on the shed roof.

Of course being Sunday, it is Selfie Sunday Blog hop over at The Cat On My Head.                                                      Our entry this week is Shoko starring at Cow-kitty on the shed roof.

Take a look at the other anipals posing for their Selfies.  Just click on the name of the blog hosting the hop.

HA! Funny story……never heard of a human trying to get high with the nip. Have to give him credit for being adventurous though! I’m glad Cow Kitty stopped by for a bit to say hello. He’s growing up so fast! Happy Sunday!

I hadn’t heard of a peeps trying to smoke nip either….trust mom’s family! Uncle David is a head Engineer on BC Ferries so glad he got his curiosity about nip out early or there may have been many crashes on the ferries. MOL

He never tried smoking it again so the rush must have been minimal and the smell way too strong. Well, we know why cats eat it…..if they smoked it, they wouldn’t be able to see through the tears of stink. MOL

hahaha…bet mom was not thrilled with her house smelling like burnt sofa! I don’t believe Uncle David tried smoking catnip again. He sure is not a “Niphead”, that’s for sure.

I’m ashamed to admit it but I look for him when I go outside now. Mom is getting very attached. Last night mom was talking on the phone and had the sliding glass door screen on the door and Cow-kitty did the witches dance as he danced by the door….mom was laughing her head off!

Cat grass would have been an awesome idea! Mom doesn’t remember seeing it back eons ago. She lived where there was grass year round so I guess the nurseries didn’t have cat grass. Cow-kitty is sorta getting to part of the family. He seems to be here quite often.

MOl, Mol, MOL….hahaha That is one funny story Darth. I guess its just a thing for teenagers to be curious. Your mum and her brother paid for it too. I wonder if it stopped them from trying drugs too. Uncle David never did bother trying drugs after the catnip fiasco! There is definitely a lesson in there.

Trust a teenager to find something unique for da nip. No, Cow-kitty doesn’t need a name yet…it’s easier to keep a kitty once its named. I don’t want the neighbour’s calling us thieves and Cow-kitty sitting on the fence sticking his wee tongue out at his old parents….I can picture it vividly.
