Every Day Just A Little Different

I had a marvelous day yesterday at Cat Scouts.  Sammy of the Worldwide Wildcat Troop put on a Greenhouse warming party and we all brought our nip plants.  Well, I had a riot chasing some mice out back with a few of my pals.  Needless to say I overindulged in the nip and mom informed me I sounded weird so we should go home.

Greenhouse Warming

Once home I did what every cat that was “nipped” out would do…….I slept.

Today I was chompin’ at the bit to get out in the sunshine.  So dad let me out.  That was early this morning.  Mom called and called me but I never showed up and I usually come to her by the second calling.   By 2pm, mom was fussin’ and fumin’ as to where I was…..so dad, wanting to put mom’s mind at rest,  MOL….came lookin’ for me.  I was found fast asleep under one of the neighbour’s 87,000 old cars.  Dad took me home and told mom where he found me.  Mom kept me inside but I was tired and didn’t want to go gallivanting about. I crawled up to my condo and continued my pleasant dream.

Kali had her own objectives for the day.  Rising at 10am, she went tripping sleepily out to the deck.

Kali hasn’t been feeling so great lately and so mom decided to give her some Barley Cat…this aids with digestion.   Kali came back in for her beef Fancy Feast.  Mom thought she was being real sneaky by putting the Barley Cat into the Fancy Feast.  Kali looked at the Fancy Feast, looked at mom, shook her front paws and walked away to lay down in her basket.  Not the reaction mom wanted at all.  Mom waited for an hour and then took a teaspoon of food to Kali in her basket.  Kali proceeded to gobble the food down as if she hadn’t been fed for days.  Mom tried this again with the same results.  Mom got the bowl of food and gave it to her and Kali got up and finished the bowl of food.

Me? Spoiled?

Me? Spoiled?

Now, mom is just shaking her head wondering about us.  Why am I found sound asleep under an old car when I have so many comfy places to sleep right here?  What is Kali trying to prove by declining her food and then eating the same food  when it is spoon fed to her?  Every day different.

You should nap in your own yard, preferably in the house where you are safe. That is cute that Kali wanted to be fed. I hope the Barley cat makes her feel better.

Ellen, mom agrees with you but I just can’t resist such an interesting backyard. This guy has everything a cat could want except nip. I still am right beside the lane.

I do like it Nellie…mom has just discovered that I like to be spoon fed. Guess who’ll be hamming it up so I’ll get spoon fed…you got it…moi. I think Shoko was still recovering from her Greenhouse pawty. Today after she helped mom plant some veggie seeds. she was up her Cat Pole and sound asleep.

The Cat Scouts nip pawty sure was fun! Shoko, we hope you will stay in your own yard when you want to take a nap outside. We are happy that Kali ate her food. Sometimes when we are not feeling well we like to be hand fed. Sometimes the humans have to do whatever it takes to get a cat to eat. Love, Cali, Andy, Tater and Shelly (C.A.T.S.)

You aren’t the only one that has said I should stay home to sleep CATS. This makes me wonder….maybe you’re right. I will seriously think about it…thanks my friends.
Your right about Kali too…I know when mom’s not feeling good she likes to have someone make her something good…like Macaroni.
The Greenhouse Warming was a real hoot Andy. Lotsa fun.

Hope Kali’s tummy feels better. Bindi doesn’t know it yet but she is going to our vet on Saturday morning to get her teeth cleaned.Sasha’s teeth are always in great shape.I suspect it is because she delights in taking an occasional chew on anything knit, especially gloves.

You may be right…now to get these two to suck on knit things. Shoko likes the feel of fuzzy material on her upper lip and kneads the purple furry but that’s not going to help her teeth.

Well Shoko, we cats love to keep our humans guessing what’s going on in our brains…it’s part of what we do for entertainment. I am sorry Kali wasn’t feeling well but maybe she just wanted breakfast in bed???? Glad you had fun at the nip party – I’m afraid we all needed to rest up a lot after THAT one!

    Hugs, Sammy

Snorts! i love it. Why you ask? I know the secret. I’ve been known to do things too for the same reason. What is it you ask? Come closer so the humans can’t hear. Attention. That’s right. The humans worry and we get the one-on-one attention we so deserve. Hey – nothing wrong with that my friends. Come on over. I’ll give you some attention Shoko. We can play around the house and watch some television in my room 🙂 XOXO – Bacon

Oh my room is special. It’s one of the extra bedrooms in the house. I have a toddler bed in there with my television. We call it the Sweet and Sour Pork Pad. I love my room. I also have my wee-wee pad in there. Mom and dad find me often in there watching my television. XOXO – Bacon

Kali decided this morning she wouldn’t eat the wet food with the Barley Cat. She quickly went and lay down in her basket. Mom peeked over at her and she looked so alert and intelligent…..clear blue eyes. Mom took a teaspoon of food over again and Kali gobbled it up…so in the basket went her bowl of food and it disappeared too…she obviously likes this way of eating. Today I’m hanging around for mom to come back out and we’ll do more planting.

This is interesting Dharth. Mom knew Fancy Feast beef was a flavour but not that chicky was added. Kali was just able to eat Fancy Feast after both of us being on Hypo Allergenic Soy HP because of her food allergy. Fancy Feast seems ok with her as she no longer gets diarrhea when she eats wet. Sounds like this Performatrim is worth a try…I’ll get mom to look for it when she is out and about….thanks cuz.

I have many health problems Dharth. I lost all but 4 teeth to a tooth disease that many oriental cats get. I am also allergic or was to commercial catfood. Although I love chicky, chicken, according to the vet, is the hardest protein for me to digest. I also have feline acne. It looks super bad because I am so white. Mom changed everything I bite or lick to glass or ceramic because the plastic helps cause feline acne. Hope that answers your question Dharth.

Apparently, the vet said, the commercial manufacturers slip something else into the chicken which Kali finds very hard to digest. I don’t know what it is. I felt the same as your mom did, that chicken was easy to digest…not so. Kali has tried many foods..venison, buffalo…you name it. Fishes usually had an immediate reaction and she could get quite sick. Mom is anxious to try this Performatrim on Kali.

Yep, mom has some serious problems but she doesn’t want to think about them so tries not to talk about them. Sometimes talking can’t be helped as she can’t do what other folk do….your mom understands Dharth. Dad is pretty good with mom and helping her. He loves to instruct so a couple of times a month he will instruct first aid.
