Friday

Kali has not been feeling so well over the last week or so and she is not very active.  So today was a visit to the vet for Kali.  She didn’t want to go and told mom she felt better and her ear wasn’t itchy and sore.  Mom didn’t believe her and off to visit Dr. Kalin they went.

Go away...traitors...I don't want to go!

Go away…traitors…I don’t want to go!

Dr. Kalin was very gentle but Kali had lost weight and lost about a pound of fur right there on the table. Turned out Kali had an ear infection and her pads were sore.

Apparently, Dr. Kalin said this could be from her pawing at her ear and then cleaning her pads. Her pads could be getting tender. Mom got drops to put in Kali’s ears for 10 tens and they left. In the waiting room, Joan, who has been with the vet practice forever as a receptionist and assistant was waiting to give Kali a love and some special words just for Kali. Everybody loves Joan…so they had a cuddle.

I was waiting at home and was very happy it was just an ear infection. Kali gets ear infections fairly often so I was not overly concerned. Kali was ticked with mom and dad and refused to go anywhere near them after she got the ear drops.

Here she is laying inside my tent….the “don’t touch the furs” zone.

I’d say we need a joke to warm up the chill in the air.

Mes glad that Kali has been diagnosed and yous just KNOWS wes LOVES the Canadian Jokes! and here is some Canadian Facts!
Your municipality buys a Zamboni before a bus (actually happened where we lives).
You bring a portable TV on a camping trip so that you don’t miss Hockey Night in Canada (or the Stanley Cup Playoffs).
You know more than 3 guys named Gordon.
You are excited whenever an American television show mentions Canada
You know Casey and Finnegan are NOT a Celtic rock band or imported beer.
You cried when you heard that “Mr Dress Up” died
You know that the last letter of the English alphabet is always pronounced “Zed”
You know how to pronounce and spell “Saskatchewan”
You have worn shorts and a parka at the same time
You know that Canadian Tire on any Saturday is busier than the toy stores before Christmas.
You have Canadian Tire money in your kitchen drawers.
And last but not least, in the winter, the trunk of your car (or your unheated garage) doubles as a freezer.

I hear ya Kali, I have that ear problems too. Please feel better soon and I hope that drops chase that infection away in zilch. I like this warning sign, wonder what the peeps here would say if we placed it on the road (they probably would ignore it like all other signs LOL)

The ear infection must really hurt cause she didn’t want to have any fun but it must be working cause she was out investigating the deck with me this morn. I guess moose are not a problem in France. Mom says the moose reminds her of her mother in law….oh my!

Kali and I sat together out on the deck this morning. She seems to want to be around mom and me more…think she is starting to feel a little better. She hid away in her basket and didn’t want anything to do with either of us before the drops. I liked the moose one too….that one was belly laugh.

Thank you so much my sweet little cuzzin…you know, you are very special to me…I just have to think about you and I start to purr. I am being very good for mom…I do feel better after the drops reach my ears. I have even been sitting outside under our bench…in the sun. It’s nice and cozy warm. My ears are getting better and there are way fewer patches of fur on the floor from me scratchin’ my ear.
