Pay It Forward

Pay it forward is Piglove and Nikitaland‘s idea.  What an excellent idea.  Keeping track asks us…”so, what have you helped others with?”  In our busy lives it’s not always easy to remember that it only takes a second to make someone’s day.  A smile a short talk in the elevator….people like to be noticed and exchange greetings.  Well, most people and those that don’t say anything….you just gave them something to think about with a cheery, “Hi…will it ever stop snowing?”

We have done the “pay it forward” in several ways this month…leaving shopping carts for the next person is a biggie with us.  Talking with strangers and laughing over something…generally brightening their day a little and ours too.  Making soup…2 different kinds and giving them to a person going into the hospital.

Have a great day my friends.

What lucky kitties you are to have left the snow and cold for the beach. Paying it forward always makes a person or kitty feel good. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

It would be a blast….we could hunt around the flower pots and dig…I love digging. You’d like it here too…mom has lots of digging space. She has lots of garden ornaments…you could grab one and run all over the yard. I could chase you….Easy Rider…that would be so much fun.

I think so Sammy. Seeing a happy face can make a big difference when mom’s down so it must work for others. She says if they talk with her…it perks her world up for the moment. So she makes a point of talking with anybody. We can get so wrapped up in our own worlds.

Totally awesome my friends! There’s so many little ways to brighten so many peoples day. You just never know when that one person might really, REALLY need that smile that day. Great work! XOXO – Bacon

What an awesome nurse you must be!! Mom has had some that would curl your hair. We won’t talk about the unfriendly ones. Mom feels in the health field….from a patient”s point of view….there is nothing nicer than a nurse that smiles and puts their hand on her back when mom’s in pain. This gesture without any words says, “You are not alone.” That always makes her feel better.

I have never understood why you wouldn’t be kind in my field of work. If you burn out, change the area you work in, there is so many different areas of nursing. I love taking care of people and touch is such a soothing and comforting way of communicating.

I guess it becomes a purely selfish motive like seniority, money and vacations. There is a definite lack of empathy in some that is for sure. There was this one nurse Kelly….she was awesome I shall not forget her. I was in the hospital after the heart failure and scheduled for a pace maker. I was scared…hubby didn’t know what to say to me but he brought Kali down to the hospital in her carrier. She crawled up into bed with me and purred away nice and loud. I was so happy…just patting my little buddy. The nurse came in and saw Kali…I said we’d be quiet…etc. She said…the fellow in the next bed doesn’t know and what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him. I was delighted. They didn’t stay long but long enough for me to want to come home as soon as I could.
