Day Before Christmas Eve

Do you know what we saw yesterday?? We saw a woodpecker sitting right smack dab in our Bird TV! Well, dad got so excited he grabbed the camera and took a picture through the glass which looked odd….so he whipped open the sliding glass door and….and….

I see it Shoks!

I see it Shoks!

the woodpecker flew away.

Hey dad, what kind of woodpecker was that? It was a Pileated Woodpecker. It was sure bright coloured on its head.

Do I hear right? Finally, our radio station is playing Christmas music….that’s’ “Silver Bells”…mom’s favourite Christmas song.

I'm hearin', "Silver Bells".

I hear, “Silver Bells”.

We’re on December the 23rd of our Advent calendar and the 23rd day finds us with a toy drum. This toy drum reminds me of….drum roll please…. Marty from Musings by Marty Manx. He and his bro Ralphie are a great couple of dudes that wouldn’t mind playing some music for their mom….even if it’s only the drum.

The Twelve Days of Christmas Cats finds us in a predicament with 55 cats plus Kali and me…so 55 extra cats. My ahum, friend has brought stinky goodness, kitty litter and crumbles over by the bucketful. Now we’re moving on to the 11th. day of Christmas. On the Eleventh day of Christmas my friend brought to me eleven panthers prancing.

Sorry bout the big light in the middle of the picture but the three friendly felines decided to look Kali all over for any sign of fleas and used this huge light to look. The light ended up reflected in the photo…its a mad house around here, I tell ya.

10 leopards lounging
9 lovely lynxes
8 marvelous manxes
7 Siamese singing
6 Persians playing
5 golden kings
4 calico cats
3 friendly felines
2 tawny tabbies
a cat in a Fir Tree
We now have a total of 66 extra cats dithering around a 2 bedroom house….we are FULL, I say.

Never a dull moment there…….and it’s just getting SO exciting now that we’re sneaking up to the big visit by Santa Paws!!!! We see those great big old pileated woodpeckers frequently in our woods……..my favorite are the little ones though – the downy woodpeckers. They also don’t make as much noise!

Yes, it is rather hectic around here and I’m still wrapping…these other cats are no darned good at wrapping….there are paws everywhere. That sure was a huge woodpecker…wouldn’t argue with that guy over any type of food.

mom loves it…she would play it over and over again et nauseum except for dad and us kitties…we give her the “stink eye” and dad just says point blank…”not again…I’m getting tired of this”. Poor ole mom…hehehe

You have never seen a woodpecker? You must see birds we never see….hot area birds. There is a woodpecker that keeps pecking on the cablevision pole…same place on the pole too. He’s done this for years. I think he’s stupid!

Awww thanks for thinking of us 🙂 that is so sweet! Sorry we were MIA for a few days. Mom had lots of work, then family gatherings and she was sick 😦 She is feeling better now though. Hope your Mom is weaning off the prednisone and feeling better too.

Our Mom is starting to feel better, slow but sure, every cold she gets is really hard on her lungs and her asthma. Glad your Mom is off the prednisone. Our Mom knows what that is like.
