Thankful Sunday…..A Blessed Day

Today is a thankful day for us….no special occasion no special dinner. Just an ordinary Sunday. We are all feeling well and no one is real sick…just some aches and pains from doing too much in rainy miserable weather. This is a biggee for us. Mom and Kali each have lots of recurring health problems but all is well on the western front right now. This is a great blessing to us. We all love each other too…no matter what, we will always be loved. Mom may get annoyed at times and give us the stink eye but we know she loves us and dad. She shows it everyday in the way she talks and plays with us….even dad. We are not rich…at leas I don’t think so. We don’t have a big house and lotsa stuff but we have enough and we have love for others and each other, which I feel is very important in todays busy world. The anipals and peeps that come and visit with us make our day so very special. We look forward to mom reading the comments to us. These are the major things that make us feel blessed.

It’s hard to remember that though when I see other kitties with way more toys than me and they can eat whatever they want….like real fancy cat food. I have to eat what Kali can tolerate as mom says Kali likes the real good tasting stuff too but her insides can’t tolerate it so its only fair we both eat the same food. I get so tired of this Hypo Allergenic Soy but then I think, well. I guess Kali does too. She is such a kind and thoughtful sis to mom and me that I guess its a small price to pay. Hey Dezi, maybe I’m growing up.

Oh Shoko, meez so sowwy , weez see udder kitties wiff lots of stuffs and wanna get a little jealous too, but mommy sez dat we hav purrlenty and she be wight. Weez always luv to ge sumfin’ new, but weez learned to be happy fur ow furiends dat hav so much. Sumtimes what they hav awe fings, and ifin twuff be told they wuld twade all those fings fur da luv yous and us get fwum ow mommys. Their pawents luv them (hopefully) they just don’t hav da time to spend wiff their fur babies likeow mommys do.

As fur da soy, weez not know yous wuz eatin’ soy. Is yous VET okay wiff dat? Cats needin’ meat to keep us healffy weez can’t magine eatin’ a diet of soy, dat can lead to it’s own healff purrawlems. Weez not know what all yous mommys twied fur yous boff, but chicken and fish can boff cause allergies and da runs, but there awe foods out there dat can be used dat don’t cause those purrawlems. Course anytime yous change ow foods weez purrawlly gunna get an upset tummy fur a bit afur we level out. Weez’ll be purrayin; fur yous boff, cuz weez just hate to hear yous be eatin’ soy.

Yes , Dezi at times I am envious cause I never get things like what they are talking about. I know you and mom are right. These kitties are just fortunate and their pawents have more money but I wouldn’t want to live with them. I want to live right where I am with mom, dad, and Kali. My very favourite thing to do is to play with mom and Kali. They are fun. The next best thing is a walk. So I really am just as fortunate as the kitties with money.

Soy, has been in our diets for a long time now. Let’s see, it’s gotta be at least 4 years now. The vets said it would be ok if I ate it too because it has the added minerals and vitamins. Mom has tried just about everything you can think of. Now, I get Fancy Feast wet every 2-3 days and Kali is pretty good on it. Beef seems to be the best for Kali. Although, occasionally she’ll get her fave, chicky! Mom started adding Royal Canin Siamese dry food. Mom says it sure isn’t cheap and proceeded to let us know that if Kali had problems, back to the Pet Store it went. Well, Kali is not having any problems when its added to the soy. So right now the food situation is pretty sweet for us.

        Kisses.

Okay Shoko, weez just worry, cuz weez want yous boff to be okay, Beef be one of da bestest fings wiff da least mount of allergic weations. Then there be wabbit and duck and so on. And yep da noms be spensiv, but mommy sez ifin weez eat good quality diets weez end up costin’ les at da VETs. MOL Hav y’all fawt ’bout cweatin’ a wish list on amazon and puttin a link on yous bloggy? Just a fawt.

I wouldn’t dare do that Dezi….mom would never agree to that. We have enough. Peeps like you ladies have a genuine need. We don’t. I just want stuff….like everybody else. Mom did like the new chair. She said it will sure help your mom a lot. Take care my friends and remember the Jamboree tomorrow. I’ve never been to a jamboree before.

Weez nevew fawt we wuld eevew Shoko, but ow furiends kept tellin’ us too, so mommy finally did. Hers cwies evewytime sumpawdy sends us sumfin’ tho’ cuz hers can’t purrvide it fur us and sumpawdy els has too. Weez purreciate it, it just makes hers a little sad too.

Yep da new chair is pawsum. Weez all luv it, but it suwe is helpin’ ommy. Weez wish we kulda showed it in action, but ow camewa dusn’t take vewy long videos, and da chair duz take a foo minutes to go back and then a foo mowe to lift. But hers been able to get up outta da chair weally easy. Hers used to rock and rock and rock till da chair had nuff momentum to kinda fwo hers out and she hoped she stayed standin’ when it did. MOL It wuz funny to watch. But not any mowe. Now she just stands up and goes.

Meez lookin’ furward to da jamboree. Sammy sez it’s posed to be mowe fun and less stwess than any of da quests. Meez suwe hopes so. 🙂

I totally agree that you should and did act on putting a wishlist out there. Also the fundraiser was the way to go. You, Audra, have the necessities you need. I also have a hospital type bed and know that it is a necessity. You couldn’t continue with a mattress that had been soaked….it would become all smelly and moldy after awhile….yuck! I like the way Dezi describes how you got p out of your chair before…that’s how I do it when my RA is bad. I’m always delighted when I actually make it. Of course when the RA is at its worst I can’t get out of the chair at all so I don.t sit in an easy chair. You know how it goes. I think the worst thing that happened was when I was getting over my knee replacement, about a year ago now, and I couldn’t get off the toilet. How embarrassing!! Worst yet….I locked the door!! Luckily Bill was home and picked the lock and came in and removed me from the toilet. He never said a word about what a dumb thing to do. I felt dumb though. He went out and bought a toilet seat that was built up and put it in the en suite bathroom. I know you have one too and that to me is indispensable. I used to rock myself off the toilet too as I’m sure you did too.

See ya at the Jamboree my buds.

OMC So sowwy but mommy had a laff, a big ole laff. She sez it’s okay tho’ cuz she kuld pikshur it all cuz she duz da same fing. Altho’ in da pawdee box room, mommy has these baws dat she had put in dat hers can pull on to get up. Maybe yous mommy kuld look at dat to help hers. It wuldn’t do nuffin’ fur a locked door, but it wuld help hers get off da pawdee. Mommy sez dat’s da only fing hers hasn’t dun and da only weason is cuz we liv alone and we wuldn’t let hers go to da pawdee box room alone fur nuffin. MOL Mommy sez hers can;t member da last time hers went to da pawdee by hers selff. Weez not know why she wuld wanna tho’. Mommy’s last service cat afur me used to get behind hers in da wecliner and push hers when she rocked to get up. Hims wuz a big 30 pound Ragamuffin, and he wuld crawl behind her and then push hers wiff hims feetsies. She sez one time hims pushed hers wight out onto da floor on hers butt. So she doesn’t twain us to do dat anymowe, so this chair is a big help. No need fur anypawdy to push hers. Mommy sez it’s a weal shame weez all will nevew get to meet, cuz youz and us wuld weally hav a time tellin’ stowwies. MOL

I’m glad you had a belly laugh out of it…it is amusing now but at the time it wasn’t so funny. I was rockin’ my fool body and getting nowhere. I gotta admit Bill is a very understanding person but he must wonder about me at times. He is very seldom ever sick. Certainly not like you and I have been and continue to be. The camera up the butt was a huge deal to him cause he has nothing. That’s not quite true as he gets older his shoulder hurts so he is going to a chiropractor. Still that’s very good. I would love to live near you so the kitties could compare notes and we could chatter about ways to cope we have discovered. Something I miss is having someone listen to what the doctor told me. Bill listens but there is not the empathy…how can you have empathy if you have never gone through much that way? He was in a traffic accident when he was in his late teens and had his kneecap wratched and was in hospital for some time but that was a very long time ago now.

Yep it’s like when mommys chair bwoke. It’s weally funny now dat she landed in da floor, but not so much at da time. Or when me runs fwu da house wiff an answered fone while mommy be on da pawdee. Is funny later, but not so much at da time. MOL

Wow dat’s pawsum hims not had any purrawlems. Weez know it sumtimes makes it hawd fur yous to talk to hims. Maybe fings will get better.

Oh don’t get me wrong…I still tell him but think about it….if you had never experienced what we go through….how could you relate to that person? Intellectually he understands but then wonders why I don’t want to stand up and get something I really want….I’ll say….I’ll get it tomorrow when I can walk without a lot of pain. If, I hadn’t experienced these pains….I couldn’t relate that well. Doesn’t really matter right now as I’m doing well and have joined a senior’s exercise group, which I go to twice a week for an hour each time.

Must get out the book…”Cats in the Belfry”. It’s story time around here.

        Night ladies.

Oh yes, mommy get ya’ 1000%. Hers used to be a bit judgemental ’bout poor peeps and da disabled, but she sed sumtimes looks can be deceivin’ and yous can’t always judge a book by it’s cover. Dat’s gweat dat yous joined an exercise gwoup. Hope yous enjoy it. Enjoy da stowwy.

We read about you at Fur Friends of the Month. It was fun learning more about our new-ish friends. I’m SO happy that it’s a healthy loving day for you today. AND that you’re acknowledging it and appreciating it. I’d hate to see it slip away unnoticed, 🙂

Hi Cupcake, you are looking smart as ever. Isn’t it strange how we take feeling good for granted. Even mom when she is feeling good for quite awhile, she starts making plans to go out to a movie with friends or out for coffee. Then wham!! She has to think twice about going out….is the event worth not being able to walk for a few days. I think this is natural though….you have to be able to depend on something to make plans.

Your mum gives you the ol’ stink eye? MOUSES!

At my house, all stink eyes are given by cats BUT… I think that might be on account of the fact that if the peeps started givin’ all ten of us all the stink eye for all the naughty things we (I mean, all the OTHER cats in my fur-fam) do, the peeps would be stinkin’ up their eyes so much that the ol’ stink eye just might stick. Permanent stink eye… NOT a good look, for sure.

Oh my Nissy….10 kitties there!! Cwap! That is one huge family. Maybe some of the family is woofies. Still mighty big my friend. Yes, if your sis’s and bro’s are anything like me, it wouldn’t take long for your peeps to get permanent “stink eye” faces…then they would scare the wits out of you as soon as they walked in the room. hahaha Nice chatting with you Nissy.
