Walk through the Garden with Shoko

The vegetable garden and flower garden are at their prime now. You must see the inside of the Greenhouse today and the flower garden tomorrow.

Guide Shoko

Shoko as guide through the greenhouse.

This is close to what I see everyday. Come follow me and we will look in the greenhouse first.

Greenhouse

Greenhouse

To your left are the melons mom is attempting to grow. There is a tiny, tiny melon on one branch. Unfortunately too small to see with a camera….give it a week or so and we’ll see if it was pollinated or it starts dying. Right straight in front of you are the red peppers…the bell variety. These peppers are not hot. At the left side of the peppers are leeks. They are growing nicely but a bit too early to eat them yet. On the right side of the greenhouse are long English cucumbers.

You can see 3 of the cukes on this one branch. We have about 5 small cukes.

Tomorrow we will take a look at the flower garden. Thanks for stopping by for a walk through the greenhouse friends. See you tomorrow.

Well thank you so much for the compliment Cody. I know mom worked hard to get it started. Even thought he cucumbers are doing well…the leaves are so prickly….I keep my distance.

That’s rough. Is it cold? We have about a month left of summer….at least in the growing season. About the middle of September we get the first frost. I’m hoping the frost stays away a bit so we can play more. Besides mom still has lots to do in the garden. I always love hearing from you guys. Thanks for looking at our greenhouse.

Thanks for the greenhouse tour Shoko! My Mom has always wanted to have a greenhouse but she’s really not gardening as much as she used to anymore PERIOD. Bet it’s nice to have fresh veggies though! We do have a giant tomato plant on our deck – I call it my pet tomato. I’m in charge of it. It’s a BIG responsibility but not as BIG as yours is with that BIG garden!!!

    Hugs, Sammy

Hi Sammy, my man. It is a big responsibility but there is a lot of huge fun for me. I can pretend lots of things in the flower garden. Leap out and scare mom. Kali is a good one to scare she wonders around like she doesn’t have a care in the world, heading off to the nip. I leap out….”Taa Daa”. Her fur stands on end and her tail gets so bushy…she looks like a squirrel! hahaha

I’m so glad you will be getting a greenhouse too. They are great. We used to have tomatoes in it too but the tomatoes never did so well in here. Tons of flowers but when the tomatoes did come they never turned red. They seem happier in the flower garden.

Shoko we won’t get a greenhouse yet but we will have outdoor beds….at our old house we had 12 beds each the size of a king size single bed and we had great success..i still would love a greenhouse for the colder months and also potting and hardening off plants..but this fence we are building is taking all our time and cashola hahaha so soon maybe πŸ˜‰ and I love the smeel of tomatoes…it’s what I miss the most πŸ™‚ big hugs Fozziemum xx

Hey Fozziemum, try the tomatoes behind other plants. They keep warm there but are protected from the wind. Mom never had any luck with tomatoes in the greenhouse.,
