Mouse!!

This was the size of the mouse….a huge flippin’ guy!

Mom,Kali and I went for a walk in the back lane. There is a lot of tall grass on the side of the road. I noticed the grass was moving and there was no wind. So as Kali and mom walked on I investigated. To my surprise there was a mouse running haphazardly through the grass. Woo Hoo….I got all excited. Mom noticed something was happening and came to see what I had locked in my jaws. As she came closer, I wanted to tell her to stay back but as I opened my mouth the mouse took off, running over mom’s feet in its rush to get away. Closely followed by me running across mom’s feet. I can still hear mom saying, “ukk”. Closely followed by….”you better hurry Shoko, he’s a fast one.” I grabbed the little sucker and trotted home with my trophy. I decided the mouse and I would play in my vegie garden. I let him down and he ran right under the chick hen wire mom had put down so I wouldn’t dig up the carrots and beets while I was finding a nice place to spread manure. He ran across the path and I grabbed him and put him on the bean row. He ran under the chick hen wire again. I was getting frustrated with this nincompoop mouse. I looked up at mom and back down but the mouse had taken off. Mom saw it run for all it was worth over the garden and under the fence back into the lane. I never saw it leave so looked for it for a long time.

Oh wow, Shoko! I once caught a mousie inside! Mom said it was because we live in an old building and the mousie came in to get warm. Anyway, it wasn’t as big as yours! Holy Can of Tuna it looked big! Mom said she bets it’s life flashed before its eyes meeting you… That chick hen wire really seemed detrimental to your ability to conduct a proper hunt. You should talk to your mom about that. Hopefully you will get the next mousie for your trophy case. -Tiger

Thanks Tiger. It was a humongous mouse! It would have made an awesome trophy. I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. I did have a few words about the chick hen wire with mom and seeing as I couldn’t promise I wouldn’t spread around manure, she said she would leave the chick hen wire for a few more weeks. Well, I just couldn’t lie to mom.

Good for you Shoko! That little guy certainly was determined to escape from you and managed to find a lot of pretty good hiding spots during “the chase”! Chicken wire was especially tricky. Well, I’m SURE there will be more opportunities to capture and KEEP one of those mousies so stay alert!!

Oh my Cleo, that would be so embarrassing! He did have a lot of nerve barging in on your hunt. Sisfurs and brofurs are like that though. They feel what’s mine is also theirs…I don’t feel that way though but I can’t seem to get Kali to understand this. Thanks for visiting Cleo. I enjoyed our chat.

I’m so happy to have friends from,”down under”. So is Kali. Cleo I’ll bet you could tell me some stories that would have my fur standing on end. I’d like that. Thanks for visiting Cleo and fozziemum

We’d be more than happy to have Oscar for mouse training. It would be so much fun. Archie could hang out with Kali…they are both white so they could play ghosties. Thanks for visiting guys.

Dezi, I’m so happy you visited us! This must mean your mom is feeling well enough to help you. The truth be told Dezi, I don’t kill these mice, I just like to play with them and then set them free. However, this guy got free waayy too soon. Take care my friend.
